I caught a MUTATED fish!!!

What I initially thought was a giant smallmouth turned out to be this very dark, black Pike! I've never seen one before and it was definitely a sight to see and catch! Turns out this is a mutation that some fish go through and end up being a darker color. Their eyes are also blinded it seems. Don't think I'll ever run into one again but you never know. Definitely a catch I'll never forget!

I’m thinking that pike was blind. There appears to be a virus of some kind in Cayuga Lake making some bass blind and they have a solid black coloring. All fish can change their color slightly and I think these fish live in perpetual darkness, therefore they make themselves black.
