I'm a dad, and this is the most idiotic revenge I have ever read! Losing years and years with your kids... Absolutely idiotic. And I love revenge or even being petty, but this...

Agreed but hey it’s a story not like we could jump in and stop him from committing suicide

How heartbreaking! Rick was an angelic presence who only wanted his wife's and children's happiness and did everything in his power to bring it about. Cindy ripped his heart out and ultimately destroyed him. She could have resisted Bennet. Resisting someone who you are attracted to is difficult but if one is determined it is worth the effort. The letters are a mystery to me. It seems that he know there would be an accident before it happened. The story leaves that question unanswered. Anyone who has betrayed their partner knows that trust can never be restored, except perhaps in rare occasions. Sometimes couples are able to repair a bad situation and stay together. However, in a similar story the narrator says that he and his wife managed to stay together, but it was never the same as before.

Rick responded, “No Cindy, I’m not going to divorce you and I’m not going to stay married to you. I’m creating a solution…for everyone.” Therefore, it appears to be suicide. That explains why he knew where and how he died in the letter.

What a selfish idiot. The kids would much rather an alive divorced father than a dead one.

He actually killed himself to make things "easier" on his kids? As a father myself, that seems incredibly stupid. Its easier on kids to have one parent die than get divorced? I seriously doubt that's true. So the wife did something incredibly selfish. Cheating. Then the husband did something incredibly selfish for revenge. Suicide. Huh. Gotta downvote this story. Its just too dumb.
