Damn Trey. You looked good here. Really loved your attitude "I wanna keep playing" at 7-4. I can tell you are looking to attack the ball more. The wind makes that difficult but the mindset is developing. Just keep grinding.

Loved this match. Hunter seems like a nice guy and a great practice partner. People that love tennis and like talking about the game are the best. tip for you backhand: you are over rotating (you are facing your opponent at the time of contact). think staying more time with the ball on your left side and hit though the ball
@williamc42219 ай бұрын
You're doing the right thing by playing lots of matches. You have reasonable technique in all of your strokes. The worst mistake most adult players make who are new to the game is they obsess over technique. They drill all the time and rarely play matches. Only drill if you have a major flaw technically. Best of luck with your progress.
@applesforakbar10 ай бұрын
Your progress is outstanding amigo! Keep it going. I'd say 80-90% of your shots going long are because your feet are moving still during contact - plant as soon as you make that decision and transfer that weight.

Hi mate, Great stuff so far. Try to staighten your left arm on your backhand and push it back and use your wrist and a little left arm to drop the racket and whip the racket low under the ball up to the shoulder. Let your left arm and wrist do everything on your backhand

Best match so far! Cleaned up a lot of your strokes. Be mindful of common shots your opponent will hit back shallow amd come to the net to smash them. ie deep balls to your opponent's backhand. But fun to watch this one!

Great playing in harsh conditions. Gotta say, your backhand continues to be your weakest part of your game. I did like how in game seven you appeared to use make yourself use your backstroke more. A lot of times you run around a backhand to try to make it a forehand. Sometimes it works, but often you just wind up hitting a weaker forehand. I had the same problem with my forehand. I'm left handed. So, I get a lot of balls to my backhand. So, my backhand became my primary weapon due to frequent use. I would often run around my forehand to hit a backhand. It was weird I know. It took me about a year of forcing myself to retrain and use my forehand to finally get to where it's useful. Now I hit a forehand as a weapon, and a backhand as a backhand. Keep forcing yourself to use your backhand. If not, as you increase in caliber of opponents they will immediately spot the weakness and exploit it.

Dude playing with the vcore 95 at your level may not be the best choice. Maybe try the 98 or the 100.

Yeah even Karue from MyTennisHQ moved from the Vcore 95 to the Percept 100. Marcos Giron also moved from it to a Percept 97.

Nice game. But what strikes me is that both of you made so many double faults! If you have a important point, just throw the ball somehow over the net and you will be surprised how many times even better players struggle to do something with it. In any case, you give them the chance to make a mistake against simply losing the point 😉 @trey: If you review your watched out on the many times when you fall back during your strong which makes the ball dropping into the net. Stepping back is okay when a ball comes wide but with the stroke you always have to have a forward momentum. Try it!

Yes!
@Nessaj8710 ай бұрын
@@Winners-Only Vcore is a very solid line, but I do hope you are trying the 100 or 98 and not the 95. You need some forgiveness at your level. Vcore will help you launch the ball higher over the net to reduce your unforced errors, while giving you loads of extra topspin. Solid upgrade from Pro Staff.

@@Nessaj87 The 95s don't feel that small with the head shape
@ryvo4310 ай бұрын
@@zachary8033 I agree. I've played with VCore 95 and 98 and didn't really feel any difference. I imagine the difference between 95 and 100 is more extreme, but I think the head shape is a big factor for Yonex racquets

You played against a more experienced player that saw your weaknesses and exploited them. Technicquewise your opponent was quite weak but you lack the skills to take advantage of his weaknesses. You have a good forehand and serve. However, you need to learn how to slice and to volley in order to develop a short and net game(your weaknesses).
@MadHolms10 ай бұрын
you have to play again when it is not windy; that would show the real level. Myself I struggle a lot in the wind, and most of the time is about luck and not skill :) But overall, you played pretty well! Nice serves.
