Aside from not adding enough seasoning, and over cooking. Brandon actually had all the tips correct. Yes you should only use salt and pepper (but also garlic powder). Yes you should pat the steak dry. Yes you should add butter towards the end, not the beginning. But another tip would be to use a cast iron pan, not a non stick pan. Non stick pans don’t get as hot as cast iron. You want a ripping hot pan when cooking steak. Now I will say, having a thinner steak compared to rug is a HUGE DISADVANTAGE. Thinner steaks are in fact harder to cook perfectly because there is less time to build a good crust. A thin steak VS a thicker steak is a night and day difference in comparison.

Brian is boiling the steak in butter. It could be saved by reverse searing it. Try this in a sous vide. 3/4 C italian dressing. 1/3 C Frank's Red Hot, Dash of Worcestershire, squeeze of lime, palm full of parsley. Vacuum seal steak in marinade and sous vide then sear.

Seasoning: Salt, Garlic Powder, and Peppercorn 1. Oil with a high smoke point. Grape seed oil. Get that cast iron skillet on high. 2. Once that oil is hot AF, lay the steak away from you, about a minute and a half or two minutes on each side. 3. Render out the sides of each steak, the fat. 4. Turn down the flame to medium heat, throw in butter, minced garlic, and your choice of fresh herb. Personally I love thyme. 5. Make sure your butter is brown and not black. (Black means it’s burned) start basting your steak about 2 minutes on each side. 6. Take out and let it rest for about 5/7 minutes. Pour the butter on top of the steak while it’s resting. Then eat. 7. Extra step personally I love to add mushrooms and onions into the skillet after taking out the steak and serving it with the steak once it’s done resting. Delicious.
