While Dark is amazing, I think Musty gave him way too much space while playing. In 1s, you never give your opponent space ESPECIALLY if they are that skilled where they can pull off aerials and ceiling shots with ease. The closer they get to the goal before you challenge them, the lower your chance is of stopping them (assuming you read them in time; a lot of the time by the time you figure out what they are doing, it's too late to stop them). You keep the pressure on them until they break and start making mistakes. Even a player with simple mechanics can rank high in 1s as long as they don't crack under pressure and make silly mistakes.
