I remember when you had your little tiny piece way back that was struggling! I knew you could grow a nice big one....I am glad it took off and it will be nice to see the extension grow! Happy for you she is a beauty!

Its useful to see that the spot where the poles overlap is the problem. I dont have enough spacial imagination to realise it without seeing it myself. Thanks!
@plantsbymelissa Жыл бұрын
Yeah, whatever ends up rooting in that spot will have a hard time coming out unless you chop it or the pole away some.

Pretty confident she'll make it Melissa! Thanks for motivating me to stop procrastination and make the moss poles that my plants desperately need (mainly my philos...about 6 of them). I really want to be prepared as we move in to spring now 😆 Enjoyed this chop and prop...always satisfying to watch a successful extension. Looking forward to seeing those wet sticks grow 👍🏼

A good moss pole chop always hurts my heart at the time but it seems to pay off tremendously in the end every time! Your moss pole videos are the most inspiring to me to run on more of my plants! I have 4 diy moss poles now with some makeshift extensions but I do think I’ll change to the WITH wire soon since I always admire and drool your gorgeous beauties on them! Such a good video as always planty friend! 🫶🏼🪴😁

Thank you so much!! It's sad to chop them but once they grow again and start sizing up it makes it worth it! ☺️ Definitely can't go wrong with a wire pole - long term stability is super important with them!

Hi Mellisa how long should you keep a plant in fluval that I just wanted to promote more roots. I have a Hoya Macrophylla which has after 10 months started to grow new leaves. Don’t want to stunt it if I take out of fluval. And thank you for introducing me to this substrate as nothing else seemed to work.

Its been my wish also to have one of this kind of philo but I can't find a juvenile plant in garden center here in Belgium,they cost a fortume if a grown up one with 5 or more leaves already,I found a juvenile gloriussom and ring of fire..they are now 3 months in mya care and they are growing good..😊❤

Love the videos. Thank you. I use thickley poles as well. I have been thinking of adding a wivk in the centre of the moss pole and maybe putting other end in tray of water. Have you ever tried anything like that to keep moss moist. Even a cup of water for a few days then rotate to another thoughts. Thanks

How do you choose what kind of moss pole to use and why? Just curious. TIA
@CasaDeWooo Жыл бұрын
Do you have any videos where you show how you use the clear wire to anchor the leaves closer to the pole? And what type of wire is it that you use? My philodendron maximum is doing so great on it’s moss pole but the leaves want to go every way but front and center! 😫🤦♀️😆

We've seen some bottom leaf issues similar to these, and found a video that helped quite a bit kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpfUpJZ6Zp2ifrMsi=A0vUhxr5TQnOBoe_ Also our ph for city water was 8.4..which wasnt helping. Stress coat and ph down products were the answer for us. I am curious if the new section(extended section) is showing any signs of stress afterwards. The bottom leaves of our plants were being sacrificed? to the cloramine and ph we think. After taking action, we are seeing much better results.
