Hugs! I’ve been there. Appreciate the vulnerability. It takes a lot. Please know that your word still stands despite the curveballs. I think it is in the dark times that that people shine brighter. We may feel depleted and down but we continue to show up for others. As someone that hated exercise, I started with walks as well about 8-9 weeks ago. I feel like even short walks bring so much clarity. Especially for us that work a lot alone. It kinda grounds me and reminds me that life is still going outside of my house. Its a strange concept but it helps. Shine. Maybe there was a narrow definition of what this meant when the year started. Part of having a word is the opportunity to deeply explore the meaning and have a lived experience with it. There is no good or bad, a lot or a little, right or wrong, poorly or well-done. There is just doing what you can in the moment to do what your mental, physical and spiritual self can do. Leave the rest. You can also consider your shine from other’s perspective. Your family, nursing staff, your friends in LA. The part of you who is getting a walk every day. You might be doing fantastic at shining and can’t quite see it yet. ❤

So his shortness of breath was a good thing, because an issue was discovered, that will be fixed and extend his life span. That isn’t negative at all. That is a blessing. Being in the hospital under medical care is a blessing. Your dad being surrounded by good doctors and loving family is a blessing. I see many blessings, not negatives.
