~6 Gas-Burning Generators from mekanism burning Eteline can make the same amount of power as the Nitro generator from Powah. The best thing is the gas-burner setup can uses kelp as fuel and it only costs 8 EMC each producing 2 biofuel. It's easier to setup as you don't have to worry about all the fiddly bits of Powah and at most it costs a bit of steel and gold so you can get it set up early in mid game.

im only 13 minutes in so im not sure if you do this later on but its really easy to make alot of EMC pretty early on. for anyone just starting this modpack, rush the pedestal and watch of flowing time, get energy orbs from the energyIO mod and use item and energy cards, get a basic reactor from powah aswell, you can manually rush to t3 quite easily without any automation setup to get this unlocked, from there, put 1 watch of flowing time on a pedestal near the reactor to make it generate tens of thousands of FE per tick despite normally only generating 1K per tick, make a t1 setup with energy being supplied with energy cards, and item cards for transfering materials, counting filters and normal filters will prevent clogging, this setup with nothing else other than 2 watches on the setup and 1 on the power generation will make around 16K emc per second using thermal machines. the reason you need energy orbs with the energy cards is because thermal machines REFUSE to take enough power from cables, even if enough is available, but the energy card bypasses this and completely fills them with energy.

As much as people don't like ProjectE or it's predecessors EE, EE2 (and that abomination EE3), I think that it's pretty good at removing a lot of the annoying BS that comes with large scale packs. The same goes for some (not all) expert level packs. That being said it definitely needs the time and effort put into configuring it according to the desired progression to make its use primarily for alleviating a lot of otherwise repetitive and not really at all enjoyable tasks. There's a bunch of solid integration into various mods like AE2, Refined Storage, etc that boost this. I guess the big thing is for long timescale packs (like GTNH) if you were to use it, it would need to allow for certain items to be "unlocked" for use in the transmutation table as time goes on according to player progression. That's definitely hard to get right and would take hours of tinkering to ensure that insane shortcuts in the pack are not introduced on small oversights on what is available and their EMC value. That being said, I definitely see it having a solid place in helping in large packs. I just wished there would be better tooling for using it and integrating it for pack developers.

Honestly, the easiest way to learn to build and put effort into a base is to start a youtube channel. The anxiety of showing off your work among all of the master builders out there is high! Something I will mention: Power becomes a LOT easier if you automate Powah with XNet. 3 different orbs and you can put Blaze, Niotic, and Spirited to one, Nitro to the second and Energized steel to the third. You can easily hook the crafter to a chest and use XNet to divert anything to each orb. (Each craft that takes more than one type of item needs it's own orb for Xnet if you don't want clogs) From there, you just have to make the patterns for everything and you can just request all the reactors you need. For Mekanism... I'd actually Recommend getting into Mekanism as fast as possible. You can use Ethylene with only ~4 or so machines to MASSIVELY generate power early on. I had 3 gas burning generators and that was able to supply more energy than a Nitro Reactor... which is 2.5x what a spirited reactor can do. Substrate is a byproduct from the process and you can funnel that and your Ethylene into HDPE late game, saving you a bunch of pain. Another tip is that you can use a Nature's compass and an Angel block to find a Jungle biome. Fish in it, and you can get Bamboo. Use that in a roller, and you get straws. Straws will let your burners use refined fuel for Superheating, saving you time and effort over routing blaze cakes everywhere.
@Hobble.7 ай бұрын
Thank you! As you witnessed I do try to hide from Mekanism, but I'll try out the generators next time. Automating Powah is really a must-have, as yeah the repetetive aspect can be draining. Interesting about the bamboo tip!
@bluephoenixguy10947 ай бұрын
@@Hobble. No prob. Side note, as well, You can use Shield Projectors to trap the Wither. They're a part of RF tools and are immune to any and all damage and will block blasts from touching anything around it. You can also make them intangible to players to eliminate any problems with entering if need be. For Xnet Automating Powah with Xnet can be done with VERY basic power (Each time the Xnet controller moves an item, it cost ~5 RF.) and just one connector. Even a single dynamo could power an Xnet controller. As for the Gas Burning Generator, I had it pumped with ~10-12 Watches of flowing time in a compact cube because I just didn't feel like setting reactors. That one was easily managing ~1-2 MRF/t.... at least from what my Flux Controller thought. Only real downside is that you HAVE to pump it into some form of energy storage first. Be it Mek Cables or an energy cube. They Gas burning generators modulate their burn rate based on how full the block it's connected to is. So unless you're making Antimatter and are willing to make some Pressurized Reaction Chambers, you can theoretically get late game tier power and skip Powah entirely if you REALLY don't like it. Bamboo is a pain in the tush so always check if packs have the Market mod. Usually has a little stall thing you can make with wood and red wool. MM doesn't have it, but the fan pack sequel Mechanical Mastery+ does. You can buy different plants with emeralds... including bamboo. MM+ is also a good bit harder. Things cost more and you don't get the benefit of Transmutation if you pull too much stuff.

At the start you already start waisting emc.. Logs burn for 1.5 items Planks burn also for 1.5 items.. But you get 4 planks per 1 log Charcoal can smelt 8 items.. But costs 1 item per smelt resulting into 7 profit smeltable items.. A charcoal block coats 9 charcoal but burns as if it were 10... By simply smelting your logs to charcoal you make a profit of 79 items instead of 1.5 items or for planks 6 items per log Each log being 32 emc means that a charcoal block costs around 0.5 Emc And planks cost 8 emc The only "down side of charcoal is that you need to smelt stuff in 80 but you need stuff in large amounts anyway"

Honestly, I'm not sure If Mechanical Mastery is actually considered an Expert Level Pack.... It's automation effort and grinding pales in comparison to ModPacks Like: Enigmatica 2, Ftb Infinity Evolved, All the FTB StoneBlock packs and even simple packs like Feed The Beast. But still, The fact it got craftable creative items and Mekanism (the nightmares of every modpack completionist) already makes it a pretty hard and challenging mod pack. It also has Projecte which already makes the Pack one of a kind. (even though that automatically makes the pack a bit easier it still requires a lot of effort) (((It also got Create which personally, Makes me die in the inside everytime a Pack includes Create)))

Having gone through it, I would agree with you on it not being really that expert. However, the pack developer called it an Expert pack on the Curseforge, so I rolled with it as it sounded good! :) It was fairly easy to over-produce items for the most part, and IMO for an expert pack, that would be much harder and require much more skill to do. :)

I agree. It was not very hard. But really give create a good try. It's so different than every mod you think. The problem I think is that it doesn't feel as fun when it's in a tech pack.

While playing this modpack I postpone mekanism, is just too much crafting and the reactor when anything goes wrong make you load a backup save. Super annoying. And why people still get power problem? Nobody ever play with the Powah! mod? Is a excellent choice for power. After getting the special powah! ore I build my first basic reactor and every time I need more power I just needed to upgrade it. In this modpack you first get block in the mod by the blaze powder/rod and then by the last tier since you need to farm withers. Mekanism and foregoing (that's easier) are always the biggest hurdle on a modpack like this one.

Someone once asked before, and I tried to track it down but I couldn't sorry. It's not in my usual folders so it must have been downloaded for only this purpose.
