I honestly got Watchful Parent first try because I made sure that each tribe member was resigned a rule and was getting food, and because at the time killing would pretty much enable anxiety, I instead friended all of them. I never actually encountered any epics either.

In creature stage you can click on a creature and push them out of their nest without them running back and befriending them becomes trivial because they can't call for their friends from a certain distance

Tip I found for civ stage for killing civs off fast is using fast airplanes with 2 planet destroyers, just use airplanes.
