You can SEE and HEAR that i didn't know how the piano worked when composing this 'piece'... Lmao. I'm much better at piano now, but not at composing.

Composing is hard, but you get a feel for it after a while. I’ve been playing piano for like three years and I’m already composing grade 6 standard in some cases. It’s hard, but not impossible and if you spend a lot of time on a piano, then ideas will come. Having good vision also helps (vision is how you see the keys and how you block out the wrong keys eg. G# minor would block out A,C,D,F and sometimes either G or F#) its a process of trial and error but I reckon you’ll get better considering this is one of the first pieces you have written.

fun fact: triplets that start on the off beat are some of the hardest rhythms to play correctly

They are not: give triplet note value of 2 and regular 8th notes value of three. See that there are 24 equal subdivisons of a 4/4 bar. Now start a metronome or use other repeating sound and play one triplet note for 2 bits and regular 8th note for 3 bits. This can be applied to rhythms of any difficulty and i use it sometimes for deciphering rhythms in sorabji's music

idk abt anyone else but to me this is actually like pretty good. it’s super interesting to listen to and it’s nice to hear how u can get specific sounds out and it’s like i can hear your ideas very clearly. I wish i had this kind of level of just fucking around and actually having it not be some basic ass music theory

FINISH IT. i love the urgency of the piano it reminds me of debussy. the chords are harsh and the melody complements that. this is really clever. don’t call it trash just because you know some people on the internet won’t like it.
