Everyone else: *talking about the Steam controller* Me: Stephen and Mal go to the grocery store on Sundays?! That's the worst day to go to the store, it's so crowded! You should go on Wednesdays before 5, you'll be like the only ones there. (I used to work at a grocery store, so I find this very super important)

Dan, remember, don't drink as much chocolate as you want to, especially when editing memorable moments of Stephen and Friends!

I bought a Steam Controller when it was first revealed. For 2D platformers that don't require the second stick, it actually has a really good stick imo. It's my preferred controller for Spelunky, for example. Other than that, it has a nifty niche use of functioning as a wireless mouse for browsing the internet (without any additional programs) if you're like me and have your laptop hooked up to the tv via hdmi and your mouse doesn't work very well on the couch!

When Stephen recorded this, he uploaded "Some of the Whole Day • 10.12.19, 2002 • 10.13.19, Pizza With No Cheese • 10.14.19, and You Don't Have Thumbs • 10.15.19"

Kiki's delivery service is my favorite movie of all time. I watch it every now and then. Funny enough I also just did one of those stained glass puzzles. I loved it so much I framed it and hung it on the wall.

I managed to get a Steam Controller when they were on sale for $5. It’s really interesting how it works!

Same here. Little late reply I know. I ersonally love it. Also I needed a controller for certain games(assassins creed, code vein, tekken, etc.) and it was far cheaper than buying an Xbox or ps4 controller. I like how the haptics work and that you can further customize the controls for ergonomics and precision

Linux has drivers and a program to modify what the trackpads do without having to open steam, as well as the steam controller just inherently being detected as a normal gamepad so you can use it in dolphin and other things really easily. It’s a very good piece of hardware in Linux because of that. Windows unfortunately without changing any settings defaults it (the trackpads) to being a mouse instead of a dpad and control stick

I have a steam controller. I've played through a few games with it (Brothers: A Tale of Two Son, What Remains of Edith Finch, A Hat in Time). It's definitely weird but I got used to it. The brothers game though was a dubious choice given how its control scheme is important not the gameplay. It's kind of hard and tedious to configure... And crowdsourced configs don't always suit my style. Neat though for use with my steam link

I got one of the Steam Controllers when they first came out. I also bought one during the flash sale, so I could give it to my girlfriend. Really decent controllers, in my opinion.

Not heard of the Steam Controller before - I can sort of see the "RTS on a couch" idea, but I have a feeling I'd really feel the loss of keyboard shortcuts.

I didn't know the Steam Controllers were on sale, I would be tempted to buy one to see how it works. But I doubt that they're still in stock.

They're gone now unfortunately, but you could probably find one online although I'm not sure what people would be charging

I love my steam controller, but entirely understand why many people didn't. It didn't feel like any other controller when you hold it, and it took me a bit to get used to it, but its awesome for a bunch of games, but for others, its fine, but a controller is better, and then for others, it was a terrible choice that didn't offer the level of control you needed. However, the Steam Controller prompted Valve to create the framework to allow full customization with PS4 and xBone controllers (and maybe switch controllers, not sure to be honest), which was a godsend.

I used to love my Steam controller thanks to just how customizable it was, but when they added the ability to use that customization interface for all controllers it lost the intrigue for me. There are bits of it that I love - playing FPS games was really neat - but the best use case made it just a worse wireless mouse and keyboard and the worst use case made it a worse controller.

Stephen, have you considered the SN30 Pro controllers? I have one and its my favorite controller, but its also GREAT for SNES games on Switch. Just a recommendation!

Nintendo is a toy company, not a gaming company. That's why they do all this limited-stock stuff and why they did the amiibo.
