This is the best version of this I’ve ever heard, not just because of her amazing voice, but because of her interpretation. I love that it’s more mature, almost like they are already in a relationship that’s getting serious instead of a crazy girl meeting someone for the first time (if that makes sense). I'm annoyed at these comments. Liking an artist's performance but still comparing them to another artist who you think did it better without giving any actual constructive criticism. Stop that shit right now. If you think they can improve tell them what to improve, don't be like " did it better :/" and then be done with it. Annoyances aside, the performance was great. Your take on the song is a lot more relaxed than what I've seen before and unlike with other people it doesn't come across lackluster.

to be fair, Barrett Wilbert Weed for me captures the essence of the song more with her facial expressions, the lyrics for me scream desperation/infatuation/childhood crush, rather than love at first sight, and barrett's exquisitely happy face make her seem deludedly happy and fit perfectly my interpretation of the song. On the other hand, I enjoy Alisha Umpress's vocals more :) I love how clear and beautiful her voice rings.

Her take on it is more flirtatious compared to Wilbert's more awkward take which I prefer but that's just a personal preference Though I do wish she didn't pull some of the words so much like her stretch on 'mother'. Again just a personal preference. It doesn't take away from her performance and her voice is still AMAZING

I think it's the vulnerability that Barrett brings. Alysha is a more skilled singer, but she sings this song with a load of confidence. Barrett brings this lovely note of desperation like she's genuinely begging. Which you like better is probably dependent on how you like to see the song approached--a confident proposal or a longing plea.
