Good news is you didn't tear it up to bad. And by the way that mic you use is awesome. Can still hear you even when you're in the pulling tractor and not close to the camera. Wish more youtubers would use them. Thanks the the videos Dennis.

I'm glad you started your video describing what had happened before seeing the scene. That looked pretty scary! The good Lord protected you and it seems like the equipment as well from something that could have been much worse. Hard to imagine the 6030 sliding around so much considering all the snow & icy conditions you have been out in clearing the roads with that tractor. I'm glad you lived to tell about it.

I have been on a ride like that before in that tractor, but it was on a road that turned to solid ice. I started up a steep hill and made it about 3/4 of the way up then it started back down the hill backwards then started doing doughnuts went off the road at the bottom of the hill into a flat field and stopped, it was kinda fun thinking back on it but there weren’t any trees. I went and got some chains after that.

For some reason this has gotten me thinking about how I've managed to avoid ending up in a situation like this - despite how many times I've had the rear start sliding on smaller machines (3pt mower s on compact tractor & riding mowers) ..... truthfully I'm not sure I can recall all the times I've been partially crabbed/drifting across a slope while mowing - usually end up that way by attempting to drive up/across the slope until I get back on to firmer & flatter ground. Guess I figure if the top of the slope is wet, the bottom is probably going to be wetter/slicker (all other things being equal). ..... but it's really got me rethinking some of my mowing habits though and how comfortable I've become with that situation (even though it's not something I intentionally go trying to do).... guess perhaps growing up driving & walking on ice so often got me complacent about slipping & sliding my way around?!?

I used to work for a New Holland dealership in southern Iowa. The majority of our service calls were from farmers that got drunk and crashed equipment. One guy in northern Missouri couldn't remember where the barrow ditch was. He crashed every piece of equipment he owned because he was drunk. had an uncle who lived near big island va who lived on some acreage with a small lake. his house was at the top of a hill and the lake down below hill. not sure why he was driving his 4x4 p/u down the hill towards the lake but it happened to him. fortuneately his truck was stopped by a couple of trees before it could reach the lake. at the time i don't think he was in the truck. he got out to look at something and yes the hill had recently been rained on. be extra careful on wet hills.

I was with my dad on a 4455 MFWD when I was about 7 or so and he was blowing hay on a big 3 to 1 highway right of way slope that was probably 200 feet to the bottom. We were at the top edge where it rolled over onto the roadway so we weren’t on the slope entirely but it was wet and my dad was trying to hit the bottom with hay and ended up sliding down this deal at what seemed like 40 mph sideways. I was on the downhill side sitting next to him in the cab and even at that age I knew we just barely got away with it. There was a ball of hay the size of the back tire up against it when we hit the bottom.
