The issue is more about KZbin algorythm. For some reason, if KZbinr take long break or too often they lose so much visibility that they don't 'dare' to take break. But I agree with you, Swag really upload a lot daily (2 channels + channels with Heiz/Ioki/Pr. Akali).

Yeah Zwag a break is much deserved! If you want to resolve the OBS issue, you can always get a dedicated computer for recording content. I know that’s what a lot of content creators in the Tarkov scene do. Pestily has a setup tour where he kinda explains his setup. Ultimately up to you man but don’t forget to relax every now and again. Your true fans will be here regardless of how often you upload!

Please thumb up this post so Zwag can see it, I might know a solution to the OBS problem. I had the exact same issue with OBS as you do now Zwag. The computer was 1,5-2 years old - swapped from 720p to 1080p plus I swapped over to MP4 format. Then OBS would randomly die when I recorded stuff. Turns out, OBS was not granted the right access when I made the swap to MP4 (don't ask me how that works, because I have no idea). The solution was to set it into an older Windows version (compatibility mode - right-click on the .exe icon). I put mine on windows 8 and it's been working perfectly since. I all so uninstalled and re-installed my graphic card drivers. Using a Geforce RTX 2070 super that should easily reach 150+ FPS in the majority of games. But it was jumping between 75-120 fps in CS GO. Turns out my driver got ''corrupted'' or somehow failed to install properly when it was downloaded. But yea, all in all, everything works perfectly now. Try it out before you throw away your money that might not solve the issue.

If you've already tried 1.) Updating your GPU drivers 2.) Running OBS as Admin You can try 1) Restart OBS. 2) Start your stream/recording (record to MKV if you are not doing so) for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc. 3) Stop your stream/recording. 4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Send that link via the troubleshooting tool or whichever support chat you are using.

Hi Zwag, I kinda have a half solution for you. If you have a developer friend or if you can code you can setup a basic service app which can check if the obs has frozen every 10-15 seconds which can alert you while recording. Either to play some sound or pop up some message. This is very easy to setup service, just a temp solution. You get the notification and you restart the app so that you can resume the recording with minimal losses. Cheers mate!

Zwag, if you go into the files for obs you can probably see the crash reports somewhere. They should be stored in a log file of some sort. It might tell you exactly why the crash is happening

Hey Zwag, I know how you can fix the OBS issue!!!! In settings, set the recording file to be in MKV instead of mp4, that way even if OBS crashes, whatever is being recorded until it freezes will be saved, and you can convert mkv to mp4 natively into OBS itself. If you notice OBS has crashed, you can then simply restart the program while you're backing in-game and then stitch both videos together in editing.

Hey Zwag, Love your work, As for OBS, and generally other softwares, crashing often means the software tries to use too much memory than your computer can offer. Having out-of-memory problems can be caused by background processes and Windows is very efficient in terms of needlessly using every single bit of your RAM, especially Windows Defender. Maybe you could try to disable it or shutdown useless background processes like the Adobe Update stuff. Maybe clearing the cache will help you too ( the "tmp" folder ). I also just let you know that the problem most likely occurs on the software side, not the hardware, so my advice would be to reinstall your system instead of bying a brand new computer because, for what you do with it, it should last at least 3-4 years.

Regarding your PC issues, have you checked your drivers, BIOS, and chipset? You can check it out online on your motherboard's website and check your current version with CPU-Z.

Maybe you dont have enough RAM in your computer? If you have 8 GB of RAM its not enough but if you have 16 GB it should be good. If you have 16 GB maybe you have too much app running in the background while recording. Last thing i can think of is that you have an anti-virus and sometimes the anti-virus think you have a virus in your computer with some apps but its not. Maybe check these three solution before buying anything too much expensive

I think upgrading now is not a bad idea. A 12900K with separate cores for efficiency and performance with a 3090 ti is what I built and it is overkill for almost everything. Running it with windows 11 makes it direct your cores to what they need to be running and I think that will help with anything you will need it to do. If you keep your old PC you can also dedicate it to be your OBS machine and you can save money buy getting less in the new machine. But honestly with the 12000 series you should be good.

Sometimes stuff just go wrong with something on your PC and if you are not good in fixing this stuff just format your system drive and reinstall all, it helps me everytime and i do it every 1-2 years to keep my pc runing smooth. Or you can try other software for recording and see if issue is with OBS.

Do you know what cpu processor you have? Also graphics card? I max out about 900 FPS on league but I just cap it at 240. I have a 5600x processor and a 2060 super in one computer. And I have a 3700x with a 2070 super in another. I also record with no issues. If you happen to see this. Let me know. I can maybe help you figure if it is your computer or just some unnecessary software running in the background. That can be a easy fix.

Early on in League, Morgana was the champ I learned how to mid lane on. I would still recommend her for a new player. She doesn't have massive damage, but she is safe with the binds and spell shield. She can easily push with pool and when a team fight breaks out you just ult into it and hourglass. She's easy to play and has a decent impact throughout the game. Thanks for showing off a burn build with her, Zwag! Very nostalgic for me.

Zwag if you don't want to wait for the next generation you can try a relatively cheap patch to your hardware issues. It might be that your ssd is somehow busted and it causes high bitrate writes to crash / stall. Try getting a new ssd, it's going to be tedious to have to reinstall everything again but it might just do the trick. PS: If that doesn't fix it then it's fine because you would have needed a new SSD anyway and those are relatively dirt cheap.

Hey man, I used to work in IT. I think if you make a fresh new reinstall of everything (including Windows), with upgraded drivers and all, it should fix the issue. Also usually when software clashes, they leave somewhere (usually a .txt) an error code. I think you can check with that what is causing the crash. Another solution is switching to another recording software, but that's annoying if you're used to OBS. Also! Dude, take some days off! I do love your daily uploads, but everyone needs a rest! Don't worry about it, we'll be here when you come back!

As a former computer tech I have a suggestion. I would setup a seperae PC just for streaming and recording and nothing else. You can link it with your gaming PC and that will reduce the strain on it. It may take a little bit to get it setup but it will be worth it in the end. I used to build high end gaming PC and servers back in the day so I think this would be the best option. Outside of dropping $4k on a super high end multi-PC setup

try this maybe it should help with obs if you keep having the black screen : 1. Open Windows settings 2. Go to system > display 3. scroll all the way to the bottom 4. open the "Graphics settings" 5. click on browse 6. select the OBS executable file (Default location: C:\Program Files\obs-studio\bin\64bit\obs64.exe) 7. after adding it, click on its name, click on options 8. select Power Saving under which your integrated card's name will be 9. save it and restart OBS Note: idk know the specs you have so it can be a number of stuff that causes obs to crash like an outdated gpu driver, ur power settings.

Yeah I'd recommend a new pc asap, prices are down rn. Imo best thing for you is a 5800x, or if you wanna go for MORE POWAH, a 5950x if youve got the money (550 on amazon). And graphics arent too important for league, but the prices are down from before. I imagine from the time you'll save its well worth the cost. say 2 vids saved a week is 1h+ of lost work, and it'll prolly be 20+ weeks, that alone pays for the processor at $25 an hour. Hello Zwag nice video, I really like your videos. Day 36 of asking to go Olaf Mid. Please try Olaf Mid (as i name it the new meta because I destroy every Yasuo, Yone, Zed or some other champions, i discovered some mages like Akali aren't a good match up) With this build i don't leave the lane for like 8 minutes and I can kill them everytime with zero items just a Dorans Shield and I think Olaf hase some Life Steal too. Take Ignite with Flash or Ghost, the Ignite is a must in the early fight. You begin with Q than W than E and you max Q first than W. At first you go: Dorans sheild with a potion Armor boots Divine Sunderer Deaths Dance Thornmail The last 2 items are your choice, you could go something else depends on the match ups idk. And for the runes you go: Lethal Tempo With Triumph With Legend Alacrity With Last Stand And for the secondary you go: Bone Plating With Overgrowth

About the OBS you can clean your registry in your windows [ I use IObit Advanced System Care for that] after that update your windows and update your drivers if needed. Day 6 asking for the Perfect Team comp. Zwag plays whatever champ he wants to carry with. Toplane goes tank Zac, tons of cc and health. Jungle goes Nunu, lots of free ganks. Adc goes Zilean, decent laning, E and R to keep Zwag alive and running around. Support goes Yuumi, tons of healing. New idea: Either toplane or adc could go Kayle for the R and hyperscaling so Zwag isn't the only win condition. (On the other hand, Zwag could go Kayle and that's the hyper carry with the Perfect Team.)

Try to record on a different HDD, fresh install windows, did you update your GPU drivers before the crashes of OBS started? If yes try to download older GPU drivers or update again. Did you check the windows error log maybe you can find more information there why OBS crashes it should be logged there. I‘m nit 100% sure but maybe OBS itself provides an error log in the program files which you can look through. I hope this helps :)

New Ryzen CPUs date is not confirmed yet, we think that launch will come near mid september, so if you are having problems now i don't recommend the waiting. As for the problem, it's hard to troubleshoot without knowing hardware, crash logs, etc. I recommend playing arround with the drivers, update to latest, or downgrade to a driver (perhaps GPU) that was working before. Try recording on another HDD/SSD perhaps is the drive. Hope you can sort it out.

Hey, don't worry about taking a break if you need it! I'm sure everyone will understand. As for the OBS situation: Given the age of your components, I would not immediately resort to buying a new computer, unless those were so no-name components. What you're dealing with sounds familiar and I would have two possible solutions I have both (sucessfully) used in the past: Save your needed data somewhere else (preferably an external file) and create a complete clean installation of OBS (i.e. combing through your drivers and deleting ALL folders/data that OBS used, since I know from experience that the uninstall.exe is faulty, causing some files to be left over, fragmented across your driver) or just straight up formatting your drivers and setting up your OS anew. It could definitely get rid of any corrupted data and overly fragmented drivers.

Buying a complete new computer because OBS is crashing is pretty extreme. Have you tried reinstalling windows or switching to linux mint ? Usually it's adviced to reinstall windows completely once a year just because the OS builds up a lot off junk just by running. If you have a really strong computer and don't demand too much it can last 2-3 years before becoming bogged down. OBS, league and some background stuff can be pretty taxing so a 2 year old OS in constant use should be slowing down significantly. It's like trowing the baby out with the bathwater, the baby was perfectly fine no reason to go through the effort off making a new one XD.

Zwag, check PSU. Replug every cable and maybe that will work. I had the strangest issue with my PC in this year. The reason was faulty PSU. Check voltages and if 3.3v lower than 3.2-3.1 - possibly i right.

OBS fix ideas, off the top of my head (and probably yours) 1. Update graphics driver, or roll back to one that worked 2. Update OBS, or roll back to one that worked 3. Higher quality means more memory. If a lower quality works again, see if you are running out of memory in task manager, hard disk is full, or try closing some apps. Browsers use a surprising amount of memory, so closing some tabs might help. I wouldn't bother with this unless you try lower quality again and it works.

Hey zwag maybe a possible fix for your obs pain: I don't know which data type you are recording in but mkv files should be recoverable even if the recording crashes. You probably already know this but for the small chance you didn't.. it might help :] Love your vids btw!

On the waiting to buy a PC vs buying one now: If you keep losing a video that's ~45 minutes avg to get it set up, dodging, remakes, loading etc. It's costing you at least ~12 at $15 an hr. If you're losing one video a day, and parts aren't scheduled realistically available till October at the soonest, that's around ~$1070. Do your own math and figure out if it's worth it now instead of waiting till later.

With your buggy recording software, rather than buying a new computer, it's likely a software issue. If you do suspect it's not just the recording software being ass, general health checks like driver updates, anti virus scans etc would help. Reinstalling windows back to factory default (back up anything you wanna keep first) would be a cheaper hail mary solution. It's not difficult typically, your partition is saved on your PC already, you just need to start it. Just Google how to do it and will be straight forward. Hope your day picks up dude!

Factory reset. Lose the extra programs. Make this computer purely a work computer. It’ll focus your entire system on one task. Update the system (I’m sure you are). That should help. And like everyone is saying; while we love your content, take a week vacation to just decompress. This isn’t life. Disappear to a beach with your ol lady and relax. One life and that’s it….

Sorry about your week, Zwag. Glad your friend is okay though. The issue with your recordings crashing sounds really odd. Like hardware failure usually results in a system crash, so I'm not sure if a full PC replacement is necessary. Could just be one of those uncommon occurrences though, such as only the chip that handles encoding on your video card going out. Could also be that your hard drive isn't fast enough to handle the video being written to it in higher quality. Might work sometimes, might decide to crap out if your PC is screwing with a page file at the same time. Could be a lot of things, honestly. Kind of having to take shots in the dark without knowing your system or witnessing the problem happen myself. And it'd probably take a lot of troubleshooting before I could narrow it down. Only thing I can recommend is... (at the risk of parroting a lot of others here) maybe taking a short break. A day at a spa, perhaps... Or something cooler than that, lol. Ya know, just a reset day or something. Won't help your PC. But stepping away from everything often brings clarity and you may find the solution much easier when you return. Besides, all us league players could definitely use a reset day every so often.

I've been having OBS problems non stop, I honestly think the past few updates for OBS have put in ALOT of problems and they aren't being resolved. Zwag just install an older version of OBS.

Not sure Zwag, why not try NVIDIA Geeforce Experience instead of OBS. Also try to record to a different drive. Maybe its an issue with your storage, you hit a limit of I/O read/write while playing and recording and it crashes.

Hey i have older cpu , my screen is ultrawide so OBS scales it down. This puts heavy load on cpu but now it can handle it. It was pretty simple for me. i just needed to NOT have anything like MSI afterburner /riva turner on while obs was on. That also means like Steam overlay and stuff. mobaanalytix seems to work fine, and not affect.

OBS could definitely be crashing more if your GPU/CPU or whatever is encoding the video recording can't handle the higher quality, you might be able to play around with the settings to allow OBS to take more resources for recording though that could influence your in game quality. Hope this helps and hope you take some time for yourself to just chill and unwind, sounds like you're having a lot of extra things to handle, hope things go smoothly for ya bro!

Honestly you can take a break from 2 videos a day. You should work on feeling better and resetting your mental. It's important to know your limits, you've proven that with your Morgana plays. For the software, you could try twitch studio. I've found that it is consistent with the work it produces. It's simpler to use than OBS, but it's up to you what you're comfortable with.
