I’m going to say some controversial things. Disclaimer: I am not a sexist. This isn’t that. With that out of that way, I’ll say I wasn’t expecting this. I was expecting to play as Jin again. I’ve grown very attached to him over the course of the over 200 hours I’ve spent with the character. It’s my favorite game of all time and it’s largely because of Daisuke Tsuji’s performance as Jin(and the main cast as well) and the role Jin plays within his environment. I see they’ve implemented some of the things I wanted in a sequel (such as dual swords, weapon variety etc) but it’s just not with the characters I was expecting to play as. I’ll be the first to say I got my expectations up for that and that’s 100% on me. That being said I’m noticing a recent pattern of more women taking the forefront as protagonists in games which is cool. I love Tomb Raider, Horizon, Control etc. I won’t lie and say I’m not disappointed that I won’t be playing as Jin once more. That’s not to say that I won’t be buying and playing this day one. Playing as a woman isn’t my preference and when given the option I always choose a male but I’ll still be buying this day one.

What you are saying is not controversial a lot of people including myself are sad that we won’t be playing as a Jin. But as long as at least have him still included majorly into the lore of the game, then I’ll be happy. For example one of those mythical tales from the last game that would be cool seeing people talk, about the Ghost like a legendary mythical hero from times past.

Sucker Punch has said that "The Ghost of..." Is going to be a series in different eras with different protagonists. Telling the story of the Mantle of the Ghost. Similar to assassin's creed in a way but more centralized. There is a chance that they'll return to Jin once they gained enough experience and technology to officially finish off his story in a fantastic fashion.

I’m sad Jin is dead now (game takes place like 300 years after ghost of Tsushima) but in all honesty let sucker punch cook they are totally gonna make this game a masterpiece and I am all for it. Now for insomniac on the other hand…I give up completely with them. Their radio silence doesn’t help much and don’t mean to say it but they are using the hack as an excuse. Yes it was a devastating hack and no employee deserved to have their information leaked but a hack can’t be used as an excuse for not having basic features miles morales and sm1 had. I love sm2 but insomniac shouldn’t have gone radio silent and nor do I think they should’ve started another project. It’s beginning to look more like they’re hungry for money instead of making good games.

This is gonna bomb hard, and I'm a massive fan of the first game make no mistake, but this game will probably be the end of sucker punch, it won't have enough new in it and its not focused on any of the characters we cared about in the first game, massive mistake to not bring back Jin and finish his story, and everyone is going to clown it for everything being too much like the first game, you know it and I know it, they have a different character and won't change the gameplay in any massive way, it'll bomb bigger than fuck, this is what happens every time a franchise makes these kinds of changes, it won't matter if the game is actually goof and fun to play to the general audience, they'll shit on it because its not exactly what they imagined the second game to be, the first game already got clowned on pretty hard by a decent portion of gamers, changing your protagonist will tank the remaining good will I promise you

Yeah, remember how GTA tanked after switching protagonists, every single game. And Assassin’s Creed was never the same after that first game because the that one main character wasn’t in the sequels…Metal Gear also, I can’t even keep up with who is who and those games never sold because they couldn’t keep the original Snake…Same with Gears and they killed Joel, everyone burned their Last of Us 2 in protest. I would like to say this as a Japanese person. It would be impossible to create a sequel with Jin as a samurai system. It would be impossible for Jin, who has territory in Tsushima, to fight against Mongolia on the Japanese mainland. At that time, the headquarters of the samurai class was located in Kamakura, and the defense of mainland Japan was directed from Kamakura. Therefore, the setting that Jin fights against Mongolia in Kyushu, Japan is quite unreasonable. Kamakura would have made Jin concentrate on defending Tsushima.

I was hoping for a game where you continue as jin in the main land of japan and having him completely embrace the ghost , having new weapons, tools , and even faster and more agile movements with parkour as well , but this also looks dope af and i hope the story would be good enough to get me to love the character as much as i love jin
