Though for context of this song Hyunjin (namely part of the dance team, and one hell of an actual Artist - his paintings are masterpieces) and Bang Chan (the leader and part of 3RACHA, their production team) wrote and produced this song. It is poetry, with a tune. Hyunjin specifically wanted Felix to start this song.. you can watch it all in their INTRO video, I think it was. Seriously, all of them play such a vital part to every song they create.

When we say all eight can sing....We mean it. Some don't sing as often, but they are all beautiful in their own right. And this song always brings a tear to my eye. There's no real rap or vocal line anymore. There are the ones who do the most rapping & the ones who do the most singing. The ones who do the most rapping are Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, and Felix. The more common vocalists are Bang Chan, Lee Know, Seungmin, and I.N. But they do switch fields when the song calls for it. It's actually kind of fun. The Rap group got together and wrote a song, and the vocal group did too. While they were on their Maniac World Tour, they would divide up & sing the songs, and then have the audience vote on who sang better that day. And just to prove a point....During a Dome Tour, they switched who sang what. The vocal group rapped & the Rap group sang. All the hidden vocals in this by Bangchan are just… so good. They usually leave their music up to people’s interpretation, but this one… what I get from it is those moments when you are feeling something so intensely and desperately sad that the light literally hurts you at the moment… begging for someone to shelter you, to let you hide away, until you’re ready to feel the warmth of the sun again.

Hyunjin and Bang Chan absolutely did an amazing job writing this song and it made me cry the first time I listened to it too. All of them have such wonderful vocals and while technically speaking the “vocal line” among them is Seungmin and I.N, they really do all shine. I always love when they hit us with a mostly vocal track! I’m so glad you enjoyed it because right now I think it’s in my top 5 favorite Stray Kids songs. This was an unexpected reaction but I am here for it! This song is definitely a tear-jerker and it was part of a 10-minute Short film on KZbin called SKZFLIX which plays a part in their group lore in some of their mixtape songs M/V. Bangchan is my bias but I love all the members very much for different reasons. Changbin doesn't usually sing too much in their discography so it's always a treat to hear him sing.

Edit and comment #2 for those new to SKZ. The breakdown is as follows: Bang Chan, Changbin and HAN are 3RACHA and have been together as trainees since before SKZ was created by Bang Chan. They namely write and produce everything DanceRacha is: Lee Know, Hyunjin and Felix. They're the main 'dancers', but they've all branched out, write songs, can sing, rap etc etc VocalRacha are the two youngest; Seungmin and I.N. Though they're the youngest, they're SO talented and dedicated! Seriously, each voice in SKZ has its own color. and each person has their own thing that they bring into the group. They are the OT8! There was, at one point, a 9th, whom chose to leave (Woojin) and while he isn't openly spoken of often, he too was such a force in the younger years of the team. Funnily enough the two voices you pointed out, Changbin and Bang Chan were early classified as the rappers haha

Second skz song I ever heard (Scars) starts with Chan and I was a Stay. Right away. No doubt about it. Not just his technique or vocal colour and tone etc...but the man knows how to convey emotions with all that technique that is just out of this world. As you are relatively new to Stray Kids, I'm not even sure you realised that ALLLL of the members were singing including the regular rappers, Changbin and Han. That surprises many people. So most of Stray Kids songs are written and produced by Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han (collectively called 3Racha), though others are often part of the process as well. but Cover Me was written by Hyunjin with 3Racha. Hyunjin’s songs have a distinct sound to them and are some of my favorites. They typically have a bit of R&B slinky vibe to them, if you’re interested, and feeling a little brave, Hyunjin and Bang Chan did a duet called Red Lights, good vocals, dirty bass, and sexy lyrics with a hot video. Also Ex, Mixtape:Oh, Waiting for Us, Secret, Secret... they have quite a few beautiful ballads or softer songs to listen to. Bang Chan solo song w just piano... I Hate to Admit is beautiful Also if you want to experience Felix complete vocal range check out his solo Deep End They all have gorgeous vocals honestly. Stayville is a safe place. The boys are extremely affectionate with one another and not afraid to show their emotions. They are even vulnerable on stage and cried many times in concerts, especially Chan and Felix.

Just watched your reaction video for this and believe me it is in my opinion one of the THE BEST ballad-type songs by the group. Seungmin, Chan’s, Lee Know, and Han’s high notes at the height of the song is the ultimate best part. It is my wrecking song as it has made me cry almost every time but has also brought me great joy. Do not and I repeat DO NOT read the English lyrics and then think of something sad while listening to it! lol! I did accidentally and I cried for an hour! lol! Changbin is a main rapper, but as you'll see the deeper into SKZ they do it all.. his singing coach said he should rap with his unique voice.. also he rapscfaster than Eminem😊
