@@anti1training maybe, but I think that goes a little against Becca's character. She's outwardly vulgar in her profanities, and extremely short tempered and aggressive, probably a defensive mechanism since she's so petite. It also acts as a front so that she doesn't feel vulnerable by being honest with how she feels. We only really see her true feelings slip out a bit, when she's flirting with david at the post job party, when she answers the door to him in her underwear, when she's concerned about David's psychosis and when she's relieved to have Lucy back, if only for David's sake. She always puts up an aggressive front still, when she's holding a gun to David's face during the underwear scene, telling off David for using his sandy, and after welcoming Lucy back, goes straight into aggression mode. Rebecca died swearing, gun in hand, aggressively. She was never one to be truly honest about how she felt about her friends. Her death is sad, but fits with how she lived.

One of the best/worst parts about the tragedy in this show is just how avoidable it all was. It not just makes you feel sad, it makes you feel like something about it is so terribly wrong and unfair that it creates a pit in your stomach

At the same time though it couldn’t have happened any other way. David was too head strong to quit upgrading and Lucy wouldn’t tell David the truth. As avoidable as it was if it happened any other way it’d be completely out of character. That’s the shame of it to me. It was so easily avoidable yet was going to happen no matter what.

I played the game before watching the show... and as such, I knew how it was all going to end. I didn't know the specifics, But I knew damn well that there ain't no happy endings in Night City. The kindest of people only have memories of better times remaining, their loved ones brutally killed or worse, the corpos or gangs inevitably responsible go on like nothing happened. The worst of people never get what they deserve; they're all spared that by the quick death of a bullet. A small found family of Edgerunners with big dreams and bigger bonds? Night City's gonna spit them out in pieces, Literally and metaphorically.

The way this Cyberpunk Universe hits hard is different. It's impossible not to cry at the end of the anime and feel empty at the end of the game, wanting the legends of Night City to have a minimally happy ending. But as they say, there are no happy endings in Night City, damn CD.

This is the BEST EDIT I HAVE EVER SEEN. I watch this on a monthly basis and I get chills up my spine along side goosebumps. I have never felt so emotionally attached to a show but even the first episode makes me tear up knowing what David has been through as his mother dies and he is getting insulted by the bully, tapping his foot. Staring with anger fear sadness and confusion. This show is a fucking master piece and this edit brings out all of David’s suffering and how shit the night city is as a place to live 🥲

It's honestly kind of refreshing to see someone who isn't relying on "I really wanna stay at your house" to carry the thing. Yeah, it _does,_ but the show was so much more than just that song, and people have honestly overhyped how integral it was to the tone of the show. It was used well and did exactly what it was supposed to...but there was other stuff in the show that helped make the moments with that song so impactful, and this video does a really good job of highlighting that.

The funny thing is, it's a show about love, and yet I don't even like Lucy. I think she was poison to David. However David himself is tragic enough without her. He kept losing his mentors and the people he cared about, he was forced to confront violence over and over while still reconciling with his old trauma.

Just started Cyberpunk 2077 again since 2020. Created a new character and bought the DLC. About 20hrs in and in awe of how great its become since the beginning, I have tech at max, got Edgerunner perk and filled all my cyberware slots. I suddenly see a wierd icon near a small wall on a big building, watch the BD and BAM, prologue to the Edgerunner anime. This show just hits different. Forever emotionally scarred. Just as the games main story and DLC has scarred me forever. Edgerunners and 2077 both will forever be apart of me emotionally.

I now understand the phenomena that is both Edgerunners anime and the actual game itself + Phantom Liberty. I was playing through the game for the first time ever earlier this year and then watched Edgerunners (as recommended by my "chooms"). Then after I was done watching all the eps, I went on to continue the game with a completely reinforced motivation and with a deep hole in my heart. Despite this being purely fiction, it wasn't hard to get swept away and fully immersed in it's world. When the song "I want to stay at your house" played on the radio in game, it actually jerked at my soul and I'm not one to cry tears. But it did make my throat ache a little from emotional overload. It's actually crazy that it started playing when I visited the memorial the commemorations for Rebecca, David, his mom, Dario, Pillar and Maine. I also pushed myself to visit all the spots I could, where the Edgerunners once lived and died. It hit so deeply. The game itself is absolutely incredible, albeit sad now because after 300 hours, I pretty much finished everything including the Songbird saga in Phantom Liberty. Well.. everything except the very last mission with Hanako. I kept leaving that for the very very last mission to accomplish. I don't want it to end. I'm saddened to hear CDPR have no intentions to release anymore DLC content. I wish they'd reconsider and have a team continue to work on the base game with at the very least more gigs from every fixer in the city, just to add more replay value. The animation was exceptional, but man... it was depressing. It's not the saddest thing I've seen in animation, but it's definitely heart breaking simply because I really cared for the characters and in a way, could actually relate with the street life and how hard it was to trust anyone. I'm no longer in my 20s... That was left behind a while ago, but somehow, after so much time that has passed, I feel like I'm almost back there again, starting a new chapter today. Anyhow.. I'm drifting here. Apologies. This video was beautifully done. Quite possibly the best I've seen on KZbin. Thank you so much for sharing it with us Li Ray. Blessings to you.

I honestly didn’t even know or just never got into the Cyberpunk genre. I heard Cyberpunk 2077 was good now so I have been playing it. Then I watched this anime. Haven’t connected to a character this much in a long time. Thanks for the video choom.
