I immediately painted the inside of my E91 black when I got the chance. that looks much nicer. The lens also cleaned and the glasses ground, polished and resealed.

We did this with my buddies mini cooper headlights, pulled it apart, sanded then wetsanded the chrome, painted it black. Looks phenomenal, so much meaner looking. Perfect for that dechrome look everywhere else on his car. Gonna do it when I get ahold of the E90/1 335i I want to keep around.

My 2006 e90 325i headlights need replacement. Too dull and dark, I can't see anything at night. (not that I drive it much since I'm always fixing something lol). I'm considering upgrading to brighter LED or other. I've heard of overheating issues with some options. I don't need special effects, just want brighter headlights. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I did buy replacement lenses but haven't installed yet... I don't think that would solve the problem. thanks!

Omg I was gonna use that kit this summer since my lenses are not 100% smooth BUT the problem is I'm afraid it will yellow the eyebrow under the lens badly. I'm afraid the meguiars product won't be as good, I read some people say only got 3 months out of it even though they advertise 1 year per lab testing. Yes you can re-apply but I rather not cause permanent damage you know or something. Would be nice if you can do a follow up. Although my car is mostly always parked outside... we really need to find a permanenet solution. Why is there such a lack of product? What do the factories use? I'd like something that lasted 10 years like from factory.
@VehicularDIY4 жыл бұрын
The headlights that I removed from the car were coated with that kit over a year ago and they held up great. I buffed away some yellowing and coated the headlights and they did not discolor at all. Just the eyebrow under the lens was discolored.
@JackRR154 жыл бұрын
@@VehicularDIY Oh ok good to hear! Yeah that eyebrow yellowing is my worse fear right now, because the only way to prevent it yellow is with that coating and don't want to open the headlights every year. Guess I might paint it silver or something when the times comes that it will look really bad. I've got E92 lci headlights seem like a bitch to open as well.

@VehicularDIY4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah my original intent was to pull the lenses from this set and move them over to my existing housings so they don't end up looking all hacked up but I've had these for like 6 months and never found the time. I'll see if I can find the time and maybe do something a little more extreme to the original headlights.
