I Decided To Grade My RARE Cards With Beckett!

The thing I like about Beckett is they usually are the fairest but strictest grading company. They don’t let things slide past while they are grading like other companies!

Trust me, PSA is worse. You have to GUESS how much a cards will be worth BEFORE you send it in. Sometimes, you have more for the grade the how much the card is worth afterwards

Yata was off pretty bad top/bottom on the front Majestic is off a bit left/right more towards the bottom on the front - thus the 9.5 on a side note, I absolutely love to see a change of pase from all the PSA returns everyone seems to focus on, BGS 10s; let alone black labels are so insanely hard to get and i appreciate these return videos so much more tbh - would love to see you chase a black label :)

That shouldn't be an 8.5 anyway, specially when they give 8.5s and 9s to horrendous centerings. Imo 9 would have been fair even though I've seen similar centerings with 9.5

A black label series would be awesome! I think it would provide a lot of context to viewers regarding how hard it is to grade one, especially if we get to see all the cards that don't quite make the cut. I definitely prefer BGS to CGC, BGS feels harsh but consistent at least.

People say grading is a scam but I honestly think its such a flex to see someone with a highly graded one. Also Umbreon is the GOAT.

I don't know anything about grading cards - I just got back into collecting very recently, but these videos are awesome! I guessed wrong on every grade, looks like I can't tell good from really good hah. I'm looking forward to the day when I can send some cards off! First card 8.5 centering is fair and accurate to me. The fact we can notice the centering is off from looking at from my phone tells me that's probably correct. I mean if a 10 is suppose to be perfect centering and a 9/9.5 is barely off where you can hardly notice probably have to measure then 8.5 seems more than fair. 2nd card I predicted correctly on overall grade and corner grade, you said they were perfect but I can see in the video 2 of the corners have some whitening unfortunately. At least I thought it did. Beckett is so much more strict on their grading compared to anyone else. The smallest imperfection can lower down its grade significantly. 3rd did a little better than I thought I guess two 9's and two 9.5's. So that was the only one I guessed wrong but overall those are awesome grades for Beckett! So nicely done good pulls!

I really love the look of BGS slabs and the detail they provide...pretty difficult to get 10's from them, but that makes sense to me as 10 = perfection.

They were stricter than I expected for a few of those, and more lenient in others (blemished surface on that Pokémon card, for example). I greatly prefer the BGS cases to PSA, and the sub-grades are a huge plus. Not a fan of the CGC cases, to be honest. A BGS black label quest series would be awesome!

I haven’t sent in any cards anywhere yet and just started collecting again last year. But I do have a few cards of Yugioh and Pokémon I plan on sending in. I definitely plan on using Becket. I don’t really have an opinion on CGC besides not really liking the way they look lol. But PSA charges way to much money and it would be worth it if they actually graded accurately, but they hand out 10s for anything and everything. Although I want cards with the highest grade possible, I also want them to be correct and Becket, at least between Becket and PSA, grades the most accurately by far…. Awesome video, but sorry didn’t get better grades, especially on that beautiful Yata. Between Umbreon and Espeon, I love both of them, especially their original printings, which are two of my all time favorite cards. Even though I love them both, I do like Umbreon a little bit more and is my favorite of the two. The original Umbreon is one of my top 5 all type favorites and some day I’ll get it 1st edition haha.

I have not graded with Beckett before but I hard their grading scale is harder but there are pros and cons like anything. Black label 10 would be the ultimate chase card.

Maybe becket is kind of strict yo grade but un that case, 9s and 9s mint are perfect too... Tata is gorgeous to me in starlight and in it's plástic case look amazing.

For corners I’m guessing they grade based on not only the whitening. But also the sharpness of the corners and if it’s a dull. It can be a good corner but if the point is dull. Then it’ll affect the overall grade.

Great video. I like to see how other people’s cards grade vs expected. I just had 20 Jordan cards graded by Beckett and overall I’m pleased. The $50 fee for a quick turnaround is tough unless the card is valuable enough to justify it.

Beckett has seen better days. Intellectual consistency sort of flies out the window on their sub grade and non-sub grade services. I've consistently found facial hairs and such in my beckett slabs in the last 2 years, as well as cards with indents and whitening that got too high of a grade. I sent in a moderate card and it got a 9. Psa has been far more consistent for me tbh, and they can deal with the in Flux of submissions, while remaining consistent, whereas beckett struggles. Why would I even pay more, if their advertised services aren't even up to snuff anymore?

I would love a series to see you try and get a black label. But honestly I agree with you cgc I personally think is the best between all three. PSA I feel hands out 10’s and gives no reasoning behind it. The sub grades at least you can look at your card and know where the fault is.

BGS seems a lot more strict but relatively reasonable. It makes sense for it to be difficult to get a 10. Feel like sometimes psa hands them out too easily

The one thing I don't like with BGS is that their cases are quite big for Yugioh cards. The cards can actually move a bit freely in there 😅

Yata is my favorite card since childhood. I have the original out of the pack secret rare, but it’s not 1st edition. I recently got the ultra version from mama I think? Or GFP2 Always been such an original. To this day I’ve never pulled a starlight rare though

If Beckett cases wouldnt be that incredibly foggy I would call them very good. But grading is pointless if the card does not look clean afterwards. Sticking to Japans grading service - ARS - for sure.

I really don’t think centering should matter unless it’s completely off because you can’t control how the card is printed but within reason you can control the damage that happens to the card
