Also think this option Srikanth, going back permanently is a big move . For that as you said financials are the big reason and also you need to have a stable income source even after moving back. Do one thing. Take a break again go for a 2 or 3month trip with kids and figure out how life is gonna be once you are back. Then you can take the right decision. Also mostly if you wanna move back and already fixed, then do one thing, keep a two year or 3 year deadline, move to a nice apartment, Sell off your house and then you can save a lot! House is a big burden for most of us who signed after 2022 here! If you are already in profit off of your home then think about this and take a wise decision. Good luck

@@AmericaChowrasta I moved back to India 5yrs back and trust me... if you want to live same kind of lifestyle that you have in USA then it will be costly in india too... The cities are not the same when you left the country. Cities developed rapidly and also people are completely different. Initially for a couple years I felt like I'm living a different city though i'm living in my hometown. 1. Move back only if you have a source for stable income. Don't even dare to think you will come back to india and find a job. 2.Curb your lifestyle. If you choose to have same lifestyle as in USA then it will be very costly because basic comfort in USA == Luxury in India. 3.Hyderabad is almost par to banglore now in terms of cost of living... So prefer a smaller city rather living in a metro city if you do a WFH job. 4.Immediately take a health Insurance for the family as medical expenses will put a dent if unchecked. (not as hogh as USA but still its a rapidly growing sector which means increase in costs) 5.Kids schooling can be costly if you choose all the fancy schools/gardens that popped up all over hyderabad. Go with a simple option like hps or dps so that kids can quickly learn indian culture . 6.Get ready to pay tax on everything and get nothing back in return :) 7.Same old life advice... Don't believe in relatives or old friends sweet talk. They expect something from you (mostly money for borrowing). Also don't fall for their pitches like chits and land deals. Positives of Moving back: 1. No VISA tensions. You will feel liberated. That feeling of living in your home country will be definitely felt. 2. parents/family will be close to you. You can watch your parents grow old and behave like kids, which is a beautiful thing but also irritating sometimes :)

A few of my friends (4 families) that lived here in US for more than 15 years moved to India in 2023 and 2024. Their kids are small and they decided its the right time. They did NOT have issues with Visa. All are Green Card holders. But they decided India is better for their and their kids future instead of dealing with chores and loneliness here. So far, they are happy with their decision. If you are thinking of moving back, do not delay. It gets harder as you delay.

I returned to India in 2022 after being in the USA for 10 years. Same thinking as yours; I can't enjoy my work in the US and various other reasons. Happy in India now, only the problem is traffic and crowds wherever you go. We also have a 4-year-old little one, so we mostly avoid crowded areas and live close to nature. It is very hard to come back; you may miss the US sometimes, but you must make your own decision and make up your mind. Most importantly, don't compare yourself with your friends in US when living in India. Life is different for everyone, and nothing is permanent.
