Jackie, please consider buying from other slime shops 😅 as someone who used to be obsessed with slime and bought from a lot of shops including Peachybbies, there are shops with much better quality out there. A few I love: Momoslimes, Slime OG, Slime Fantasies, Rodem Slime, Someotherslime. Also, if your hands are usually warm, they tend to melt clear slime. There are some people who just run hot and no matter how much activator they use, clear slime will always be sticky for them 😅

Tanooki slimes is Canadian! Also look for coated clear slimes if you want to avoid the sticky tacky feeling. Coated clear slimes are not sticky and activate super quickly if they get a little melted.

Hello, i used to own a slime store, and while I agree with people saying you should've kept adding activator, that some of slime looked beyond saving. In most cases a melted slime can be reactivated, however at a certain point it gets TOO melted and it's extremely difficult to get it back to its original form with just activator. Usually, in these cases you'd also add glue, which the company didn't provide, so i think that your review was fair. Also the amount of activator they provided is very small, and generally speaking, spraying it on the slime is not as effective as pouring, so a lot of companies ship the activator either in a small dropper bottle, or in powder form with instructions on how much water to add on your own (which is what i did back in the day). Especially at this price point, the fixing tools and introductions they provide should be better.

I didn't think to suggest glue. But that's exactly what I do when my home made slime seems runny. Like my maple syrup slime got really runny. I had to add a ton of glue n activator to it to fix it. I noticed this tends to happen when they sit too long. They need to b played w a lot to keep them from needing saved

I feel like Peachybbies is especially notorious for sticky slimes, the other problem is for those sticky slimes, some of tge fun gets taken out of tge experience because you have to play with it quickly or you get stuck. I ruined a few of her slimes by trying to fix the stickiness level instead of just using the entire activator stick, but once I reorder them, that's definitely what I'm going to do to "save" it.

So I live in northern Minnesota, and experienced the same with some of the stickiness. Turns out if slime gets too cold for too long of a period, even if it doesn't freeze, as it warms up to room temperature it begins to deactivate as well. You may need to use a lot of activator unfortunately, just go slow. Hope this is helpful!

That's why I cover my desk in clear contact paper (or whatever colour fits my needs or is cheaper. Sometimes having a darker background or lighter background colour makes my arts and or crafts easier to figure out.) Anyways, it's easy to clean and once it gets stained to the point it annoys me I can easy peel it off and then add a new later. And if you really want to save time, just add a few layers with a piece of paper (post-its work well) at one corner between layers (makes it easier to peel individual layers off). Just an idea to protect your desk if needed.

what I've learned from these comments is that slime makers need to add a pamphlet with all this information so people who aren't too knowledgeable but want to engage can know what's wrong with their product and how to adjust it jackie said that the instructions told her to do only one spritz at a time (tho its unclear to me if she did more) someone commented also on the hands having to be prepared as well, which doesn't seem to have been explained either assuming every buyer is knowledgeable in slime feels like a pretty bad mistake to me

Love your videos. Just something to note. Some slimes just go sticky, even in the cold. It can depend a lot on how there’re transported, or how long it has last been mixed. Some slimes can get sticky if not played with in a while. It’s not really the shops fault if the slimes are sticky, because they can’t control it. You just need to add a lot of activater, and it should get less sticky. ❤

Not true. It depends on the type of glue used. Older slimes, even if activated to the hilt, can still remain sticky if they're made with crappy glue. Not all slimes are sticky, and some can last for quite some time if made properly. If you think sticky slime is the norm, you haven't played with good slime...rookie. ;) *pokes*

I have some tips for when the slime is too sticky. 1. Take it out of the container FULLY!! It is much easier to activate it when it’s out, and doesn’t make sense for it to be in the container. 2. You may have over activated the first one, you’ll know when you take it out of the container if it’s over activated, and since you were just trying to activate what you had in your hands, it was making it even worse. 3. One spray wasn’t an understatement, you never want to over activate it because it will be not able to be played with. Take it out of the container, lay it out, and at that point your hands may be sticky, but it’s okay. Spray one at a time and knead it in, repeat until it’s playable. If it doesn’t become playable, it is a problem with the slime, but personally I saw no problem with those slimes that were too sticky. Hope this helps!!

As someone who makes slimes, temperature has little effect. Yes they do 'melt down' over time as the activator solution evaporates from the glue, heat can make this happen faster and like with most things cold can make stuff run thicker. All slime is at it's base is glue, borax, and water. Clear glues are made slightly different then white glues. White glues are made with polyvinyl acetate resin and water. Clear is typically used with polyurethane and silicone polymers. Both have a similar reaction when in contact with borax, binding the glues into a rubber. But due to the dilution of the borax, it just forms into a more viscous rubber that keeps the stretch yet is still 'goopy'.. Due to the difference in reactions clear glues will 'melt down' faster as the activator evaporates faster from it. The little spray bottles most slime shops offer are full on useless. I tend to give a 1 tsp offering of borax and instruct to mix in with 1cup warm water (to help it dissolve) and to add as needed half a tsp at a time. If it ends up being 'too strong' another cup can be added to the solution to make the dilution weaker. You can't 'ruin' slime. Even if too much activator is used and the slime becomes rubbery. Just let it sit for a few days, it'll slowly melt down back to the consistency it should be during its well, normal melt down process as the borax solution evaporates from the glue and the chemical reaction that binds the glue into slime wears off. A little fact: Borax, the main ingredient that makes slime is not some super high dangerous chemical like many use to claim as its often found in laundry detergent. But is actually a strong salt. Most allergic reactions are from people making slime using other solutions, like contact lenses solutions or laundry detergents that include other chemicals. But while all of them work in making slime, it's the borax in them doing the work, everything else is just unneeded extras. If you see anything with Sodium Tetraborate in it, that's is the other name for Borax and is the only thing in any of the above mentioned turning glue into slime. Not saying people can't be allergic to borax, people can be allergic to water and sunlight. But most of the issues in slimes early days of kids getting rashes or burns was due to laundry detergent and other stuff being used that includes other chemicals (even bleach) that can be very harmful if exposed to for prolong times. Most allergic reactions to slimes sold in slime shops are people allergic to any lotions used (often in cream slimes) and the fragrance oils or colorings (typically food grade colors but some watercolors and other water soluble pigments are also used). Thus if you want to make your own slime, just use pure borax. It's far safer and as said it is diluted to such am amount barely 1% of slime is borax.. All activators are typically 1 tsp of borax, to 1 cup warm water. Once the borax is dissolved in the water it can be stored and used indefinitely, it don't 'expire'. Most slimes are also 1 cup (8oz) . If fully melted down, 1 and a half tsp of the activator is usually the amount needed to bring it back to its slime state. But it can vary as say a butter slime is glue mixed with a soft clay and as it has less glue content less activator is needed.

Also I wanna add something else: Technically with clay that's hardened, you can actually add it into slime. And it will EVENTUALLY rehydrate over time, you have to let it soak in the slime for awhile, before it eventually softens, and then mixes in fully. However, it needs to be more slime than the amount you seem to be given in the last bit of the vide, lol.

@@AmitPatel-sx2zs Yeah, like there IS a limit, at some point the clay can't be saved. However, if you're tearing the clay apart, there is still hope that you can JUST about save it. Putting the pieces into the slime and then letting them soak in there for awhile, and making sure you go back to give it a mix, here and there, eventually the clay will soften back up and mix into the slime. It's an annoying process, but you can do it, just so long as you can be patient. 👀

As many comments have said, slimes can go sticky from being cold, then warming up, as though its melting. Other times they keep the slimes slightly sticky so when you add in things like beads, they'll stay in. Sometimes it will be a mix of both, so you'll get the super sticky slimes. So for the strawberry slime from Peachy, maybe it wasn't activating properly because as you were activating it, and holding it, you were simultaneously melting it with the warmth of your hands while activating haha. I noticed for the boba one (haven't watched any further) you gave it's scent a low rating because it wasn't very strong. I don't know if you're rating scent on how strong it is, how good it smells, or both. I'd just like to say that they'll make slimes with much more mild scents for those of us that have sensitive noses and can get headaches easily. So i think it would be great to do two separate ratings for scent; Strength of smell, and how good it smells! As always, none of this is criticism, just helpful information!

I'm sure lots of people said this already but the sticky slimes needed A LOT of activator. The clear slimes are more runny than the others. It used clear glue versus white glue. The clear slime is less scented bc thr scents oftentimes make the slime murky and they want it crystal clear. Also, keep vinegar on hand ehen using slimes. It will break down the slime and it will come off with ease. The more you know.

Since people have already given you tips for sticky slime. I will add onto the tips with my own, as I'm someone who plays with slime all the time and have for awhile now. Here's another tip: It doesn't matter how much activator you put into clear slime, clear slime will ALWAYS be sticky if you go too slow. With clear slime, you have to go fast. Pretend it's lava. As someone who owns lots of clear slime from many different shops, it's an advanced professional level of slime. You have to know what you're doing with the clear ones. You have to pretend clear slime will burn you when touching it, so that way it's not sticky at all, you go VERY fast, never stop moving. Because it you let your hand stay in the clear slime for even a second, it'll stick to you, no matter how much activator you added. I hope that makes sense and helps a bit. If you're not into that, I'd recommend staying away from clear slime. The only clear based slime that's actually not AS hard to handle, is jelly slime. :)

After many slime purchases over the years, I've come to rely on just a couple of slime shops that I know offer quality slime that isn't sticky. It all depends on the type of glue used, and even some of the most popular slime shops still use glue (especially for clear slimes) that remains tacky, regardless of how much activation used. I'm sure there are many shops out there that I haven't tried which use Korean glue (preferred), but my go-to shops are Rodem and Momo. Still, it's always fun to branch out now and again, hoping to find a rare gem; I do like to support small slime businesses, but I trust those two and always come back to them. Happy sliming!

genuine question: why would you buy these "DIY kits" when your ultimate goal is to mix all the cute components together? i get that slime is fun to play with, but you only experience putting together the kit for a moment before you, well, play with it and turn it into one giant glob of slime. to me, none of these "kits" would be worth the extra money when i could just buy two slimes and mix them together. what am i missing, here? (FTR, i think for me, fidgeting is about repetition, and you can't really repeat the experience of assembling a DIY kit with slimes because they can't be separated once they're mixed.)

These remind me more of Crazy Aaron's advent calendar - where the goal is to have "unique" putties every 4 days of the calendar. But you can usually get them pre-mixed - or you can keep out pieces if you don't like it. But the entire goal isn't a "Diy" but to keep the surprises going and keep the price down - but part of that IS the mystery, which I think makes a "DIY" thing like this more fun rather than "here's all the stuff - do it."

I don't always understand DIY kits, but I have gotten a few in my time. The ones that I get are ones that I feel would be especially fun both during the mixing and playing afterward. For example, I got a kit that came with both crunchy peanut butter and jelly slimes, and two pieces of clay bread. Getting to make a PB&J "sandwich" then absolutely wrecking it by squishing it and mixing it was super fun for me as a kid who always wanted to play with my food, but never did. Other people seem to enjoy making something very pretty and then destroying it in the same way.

As someone who loves slime, I also don’t really understand the popularity of the diy kits either. I’ve only gotten 3 diy clay ones before. I rarely get them unless I really like the theme of it because once you mix it, it’s usually just a very plain and boring looking slime. I also don’t like them that much because it never fits into its original container once mixed so you need to put some of it in an extra container, and, at least with me, the extra slime in the extra container never gets played with.

@@remunnie well, i get why people want pre-made slime. the part that confuses me is why people would pay extra money for slimes and clay that, once mixed together, can't be separated again. you can only have the cute pie-shaped thing for a moment before you squish it all into a muddy glob. at least with, say, resin DIY kits, you can display the finished object even if you can't go through the process of putting the kit together again.

Different scents definitely do interact differently. I follow several slime makers and enjoy watching their WIP videos. Some textures / colors just do not come out correctly when certain scents are mixed in. If you want, for example, a very clear slime, you either have to put in very little scent or only a certain formulas, or it will cloud up pretty much immediately. It's all basically chemistry!

you cant make everyone happy. If I'd go online and told people what kind of textures I like. people would riot! I think. I grew up making slimes at home especially the fluffy or sand types. I felt shamed to oblivion by strangers I didn't talk to cuz they would think my creations where "wrong" Policing how people enjoy or what people think about stuff is not the way. it's ok to share opinions and what's considered the right way. But I do have a problem how a few people try to enforce shame in to personal opinions! I Think Jackie is entitled to her own opinion just as you are.

Just for information sake, slightly hardened clay will eventually combine with the slime! You dont know until you know, so you're totally fine! (But that chicken nugget one needs to be packaged better tbh... i like the plate cuz i like playing with slime on a plate, but not very worth it for me, tbh) Also, slime will eventually melt. Especially clear slimes and especially while shipping. Its not the fault of the makers and its not your fault, that is just how slime behaves. Knowing how to use the activator is definitely a skill you need to know if you're going to be playing with slime

I know I am a bit late to the vid but I would like to say: When slimes are cold for too long, they tend to melt/deactivate as they warm up. Also! when a slime isn't played with for a long time, it will start to deactivate. A way to kind of help fix slimes that have begun to deactivate/melt is to simply add more activator AND/or add some glue. Really just depends on how badly deactivated/melted the slime is. -Someone who used to own and make a lot of slime

Agreed! I had some from Peachybbs that dried out very quickly even in their containers and I really didn't take them out much. One was so sticky I had to put in the entire bottle of activator and still buy more because it wasn't enough. Now that one is really good though! Still, I probably won't buy from them again and instead stick with Snoop, Momoslimes or Pilotslimes! Those were all 100% positive experiences for me. As well as Avocadoslimeez, a small European shop I recently discovered and was very surprised by how good they were!

What gets me is that you have 2 or 3 little tubs that you mix together but at the money it costs you in the first place why don’t they give you an extra tub that’s big enough to house all the slime once it’s been mixed altogether, plus why don’t they bag the clay waffles and nuggets in resealable bags with all the air taken out…. Keep up with your fantastic work xx

I have literally never understood why some companies won't send an extra container when they know that the slime will get larger with the add-ins or inflate with use. You can usually buy an extra container for a few bucks, but I feel like the slimes that are obviously going to get bigger than their original container should just come with one.

I am not a big fan of slime all together but i wanted to say something - for that pricetag, something i could make 10x bigger batch of for 2x cheaper is a scam. The charms are bulk bought from chinese manufacturers. The slime itself is just borax, some coloring, add some texture. Perfect it and viola. You have your own 30 dollars slime for 3 at home, and i can guarantee you figuring it out and experimenting would be way more enjoyable than playing with a sticky brown mixed mess. You get the cute packaging tho. Which brings me to the next thing - i dont know sh about slimes, but i know a lof of things about shipping fragile things. I breed animals for a living and i ship ton of insects, snakes, lizards ect. Overseas. You pay a lot, because sometimes half the price is just shipping alone. It guarantees the thing you buy, animal or not, will come to you in a pristine condition. I cannot justify the pricepoint of any of those slimes, even if argument "shipping and packaging" shows up, its not properly packaged. No protection whatsoever.
@psychotophatcat
@psychotophatcat 17 күн бұрын
I don't understand paying a premium price for really plain slime that would be easy to make it home, which is why the ones I buy are textures that would be a pain to try to recreate or too pricy to get everything to start. I don't need like a pound of pumice sand sitting around doing nothing after I only needed a cup, you know? 😆

Alot of slimes are shipped slightly over activated due to them deactivating in transit its a common complaint by costomers that its deactivated the main trick is to activate it till it's your preferred feel but take your time while activating it to avoid overactivating it its just a problem thats hard to avoid hot and cold temps can highly effect the slime if its to cold and it warms to room temp it can make it super sticky but same with if its to hot

Jackie I adore you but I just finished this. When it comes to extreme temperatures, not just hot, but cold too. Clear slime or Butter slimes will separate just as bad in the cold or it can get very cold and separate as it warms up. Just to let you know. I know sticky slime sucks. However it’s normally not the slime shops fault.

I know it could be annoying to buy something so expensive and then you have to basically “fix it“ when it comes in if it wasn’t up to part of what they advertised, but you have to admit it’s cool for them to send activator or whatever to make the slimes less sticky. There’s companies out there that will sell slime without the necessary tools to bring it back to normal and it’s still being incredibly sticky. Those types of slimes remind me of the packet pink sauce, where the pink lady was selling powder for 20 bucks and giving them instructions to do it themselves with ingredients that they would have to buy themselves so … at least they provided it for you rather than you wasting more money to use products you would have to buy yourself. That’s my two cents of the product. Even though it is very expensive.

I’m just so confused on what you guys expect during shipping. I have bought slime and it has deactivated during shipping and that has nothing to do with the slime shop (I would rather have deactivated slime over overactivated slime because it’s much easier to reactivate slime then it is to make overactivated slime soft again) and since I’m an adult who does laundry I have borax so I don’t really care what the slime shop sends me.

@@KristenZianourry2015 we can have our own feelings about stuff. Jackie doesn’t like when she pays for expensive slime that requires her to do things to it… I just said at least it doesn’t require extra money on her part to reactivate the slime, which every use of a product adds up and eventually you’d need to spend money on it again, when you don’t have to if they give the slime reactivator. And someone had to say I’m not an adult who does laundry because I don’t have borax, which is strange.
