Yeah it's worth a visit. Pedaling Matangi Station costs a few bucks but was really cool. I didn't film everything, but they had some pretty challenging trails that I really like too.

Makara Peak in Wellington is fantastic - the adventurous way up to the summit is Koru, Sally Ally, Missing Link, Aratahi - or more direct is to skip Missing Link and take Upswing. Coming down you have a ton of options… Pōhatū straight into Lower Starfish is janky flow… or Peak Flow (fast and flowy) into Upper Starfish (old school tech flow) into Lower Starfish is cool too. Or there’s some full on Black Diamond fun down Trickle Falls or Vertigo…

So we only got one lap in on a kind of rainy day and did trickle. It was pleasantly difficult and I'd love to ride there again!

20 minutes out of Wellington, around the harbour, is Wainui Trail Project - it’s beautiful bush and some fantastic fun. Labyrinth up/down is super fun. 491 is sketchy fun with drops and ruts…
