Some people often forget that riders at the start of PBP have already gone through a rigorous selection process. Kudos to you Sir, for being upfront about your DNF. You already did great before you started in Paris. Thank you for the inspiration!

Bad luck, these things happen. Thanks for posting the video footage of the first stage of the ride. Having only ever done the 90hr start, I've never actually seen that bit in daylight :-)

Congratulations Randonneur and the rest of the Malaysian team 👍 Safety comes first. Glad to hear you're okay.

Don't be disappointed. I DNF too. I made it to Loudeac (outbound) n had appetite issues. Keep it up and we will do it again in 4 years!

Thanks for sharing the video. No question You did what you had to! By the way you've got an experience more and know for sure what you will and won't do. No doubt we will see you in Paris in August 2023 again. Keep pedaling & you'll make it.👍🚴♂

Speechless. Best video ever!

Tough luck. Enjoyed your video though, as well as your other videos. Never done a brevet myself nor am I likely ever going to PBP so I like watching other people's videos. I hope you get another chance at it in 4 years, even if that is a long time from now.

Safety first of course. I wish you many more PBP, to see Brest from the bridge after Plougastel, and come back.

Sorry, bad luck, mate. But safety first of course. I wish you good luck and success 👍

Chin up bro, try PBP the next time. Safety first, always listen to your body. Enjoyed your videos.

Hi Adrian, my very best congratulations for your courage and the qualifing for PBP. I dnf BPB even the same way as you in 2019 and with the same drinking/eating issues and a lot of undiscribible body-pain, I guess due to much pace at the beginning... After the first 200K I rode back to Ramboilet in a super slowmotion speed, excaustetd, frustrated, disappointed. Your emotional intro shows exact the same feeling I'm struggled with after the dnf. But: Will you return this year to PBP? If yes, I hope to see you somewhere around Ramboilet or on the track 🙂Unfortunately I rode last year only a 300K Brevet so I'm not 100% sure to get a starting-place this time... And we have to graduate firstly all the qualifing Brevets of course ;-) However, I wish all the best for your qualifications and your general life as well. Best wishes from Hamburg Germany Sören (PS: sory for my insufficient and horrible english gramma !)

Hi, hope you manage to get a place this year. I will most certainly try to return this year, though some personal circumstances might be an obstacle... I'll see how things go and hope for the best!

I'm a little late in discovering your channel, have been catching up on some videos. Sorry to hear you DNF'ed. I have the same Topeak PakGoX case though....I LOVE that thing. How difficult was it finding a taxi in Paris that'll fit it?
@atwl772 жыл бұрын
I didn't have any trouble from Charles de Gaulle airport - there were several taxis waiting and I went to the one with the bigger car. For the return trip from the hotel, I asked the hotel to call a suitable taxi for me so no issue there either.

If you can't keep water down, most likely reasons: 1) stomach problems. Bad food? or 2) pushed yourself too hard. Why do you think you failed?
@atwl772 жыл бұрын
My best guess, this was the year my stomach started announcing itself as lactose-intolerant and I needed to start avoiding milk and related food products.

I think it must have been the weather. For somebody who comes from tropical weather to sub tropical France might need more time to acclimatised. I personally hate cold weather, I would rather ride in a very hot weather.
@atwl772 жыл бұрын
It's probably one of many factors, I suppose...

Sorry, I don't get your question. Google translate says, "You drove or not, I do not understand?", but what does that mean?
