Why is there an obsession with marriage in African countries? I have 3 children by 3 different women, one Black American, one white, and one Kenyan and never married any of them. I raised all my United Nations kids as a single father and looking at all the marriage headaches I hear about in Kenya, I made the best decision. My children are now adults and think of me as an angel dad.
@aishaharuni29372 жыл бұрын
👏👏👏👏
@Sofia-dl9vw2 жыл бұрын
Not all marriages are like what you see in the media. I think it is good that Africans value marriage rather than just have women raising kids on their own like what you are suggesting. Children need stability except when it is abusive. But I also think that marriage for the sake of marriage is not worth it.
@Sofia-dl9vw2 жыл бұрын
@Queen TC I actually agree with all that you have said here. We sometimes go to extremes as Africans. I was just disagreeing with the other extreme where some cultures have children with different women and never marry them leaving women raising children on their own. We should meet somewhere in the middle I think.
@Sofia-dl9vw2 жыл бұрын
Some cultures do not advocate for marriage and guess who is on the losing end? I can assure you it is not the guys. I have seen many women in some of these cultures left alone without even the dads being in the picture. I prefer my African culture to that mentality. Marriage is good but it has to be healthy or people should just divorce, and Africans have to also accept divorce because women stay in violent relationships sometimes because the culture makes them stay, sometimes it is even the church. I agree that some things should change but we don't have to throw away our whole culture away.
