I did the same mod. My Germanium isn't as loud as yours and sounds very.. Beetronic. I ordered some random diodes and really didn't do a lot of research on which to use,

@@jasonhodges1378 I recorded with my crappy phone so the audio doesn't pick up the best. The germanium is very quiet compared to no diodes or SI. I may be wrong but most germanium probably sound about the same. At least when a build calls for GE they all just say GE and not a specific kind. I have to turn up the vol on the GE side that's for sure

HMm maybe I am wrong but I think something is off on your pot. Make sure that is still a good pot with a meter. Things happen during install, I have chased things for weeks before and it turns out I fried the pot with my own soldering iron putting things in. I sold all my muffs except my deluxe, and it has its own gate already in it.

what makes you say that? I just checked the pot, everything reading right. are you talking about how theres no vol when the gate knob is turned all the way back? with everything turned up, there is vol. just not a lot at all. Josh said he would make a change in the 50k pot to a 100k pot to make up for the GE but I missed that until now lol

@@theknappster2067 As long as it makes noises you are happy with, then you did everything "right" and the pot works perfectly! :P If you end up on a perfect fuzz quest like me, just keep all the old ones, you will want them later, trust me hehe
