I did what with F Tier Blocks?! | Terraria 1.4.4

You all asked for it, so here it is! I am building a couple of houses using blocks from the F tier of my block ranking video!
I stayed up til 1am getting this done, due to having to re-record corrupt clips. The corrupted clips were slightly longer than the originals, and due to it being so late, I didn't realize how much it messed up my outro, until the video was already uploaded. Sorry about that!

Since you're proficient in making such a rough start look so appealing by the end, maybe create a base which includes the notorious box house (6x10, 1 block thick, etc) and makes THAT look good? That could shed light on how to improve base design for people like me who are really stuck in the way of gravitating towards the box design. Nice vid tho!!!

I use team platforms all the time for boss arenas when I'm too lazy to farm a bunch of wood. Infinite money and gel farm is one of the first things I build in every world

The texture inside them I find to be a useful grate-alternative. Like you can paint them brown/gray and make stacked crates.

I always used to buy multiple stacks back when they were free, and then they updated them to cost something and I sold some for a bunch of money

One use I've found for the actuated stone blocks is that they cannot be transformed by corruption, crimson or hallow, which means that they can be used to create boulders and other sorts of stony details in those biomes. Although, you would probably be able to do that with other blocks as well

The active stone block is an interesting tile. These blocks can be double actuated. The double actuated block has an even darker texture than before. Once you remove the actuators when in the double actuated state makes any activation using wires toggles between 2 actuated states - the only block in the game that has this property. I couldnt find much technical use for the block, but a builder might! You can make some interesting backgrounds using it, hooking these up to a dummy engine gives the feel of a constantly shifting background.

You know, when actuators were added, I completely wrote off active/inactive stone blocks, and it never even occurred to test this. That is brilliant! I'll have to play around with it, and see if I can squeeze any interesting uses out of it! Thanks for the tip!

15:56 I'm pretty sure in older versions, at least on legacy mobile, rainbow brick blocks would actually change their color when painted, making them shift through the brightness of that color rather than doing nothing, i remember making my house out of them back in the day. however, my memory of this isn't that good, id have to somehow travel back to 1.2 to see if that was true. Re-Logic really does need to implement that it would be a nice feature.

Build idea: The Most Eclectic House! Use blocks and decorations from as many different places as possible - the rarer and more showy, the better! You CAN use paints, but you CAN’T just use it to match colors - make it loud!

I have actually found use for active stone blocks, in that they cannot be corrupted or hallowed, meaning you can use them to enclose a pocket of corrupted or hallowed blocks without having an obvious barrier. I haven't had a chance to test it, but if they also block moss growth, that's just another plus for sectioning out mossy segments of builds.

Despite being made mostly out of random garbage, both houses are very unique and both look good (I especially liked using a hoik to get into gameboy with the platforms as the "door") Also, the timelapse makes the tree waving animation very funny

Nicely done.. I would say make a house with only S tier blocks next as a comparison but don't think there's really enough blocks in both subjective and objective tiers.. so maybe a houses that use that use A & S tier blocks and extras like walls and furniture only.

The cave build was awesome! Btw, if you're worried about visibility in the timelapses, maybe you could use a mod which allows you to turn off lighting? (i think cheat sheet had a feature like that but I'm not sure)

I think it would be super fun if you did a video exploring the capabilities and uses of some of the tilesets and biomes Calamity mod adds! There’s a bunch of super nice blocks from places like the sunken sea, and void stone from the abyss. The mod also adds lots of new bricks and furniture sets. Just like how calamity mod feels like it works hand in hand with vanilla in progression the blocks it adds are top notch! I’ll add calamity vanities may be useful to install alongside it. The base mod is great but the addon makes it even better

I’ve started a forever terraria world and had an idea to make an artificial mountain range. What blocks would you recommend I grab for nice textures of stone. I also want to make a “surface” mushroom biome inside the a mountain mixed with a volcano caldera. Im dreaming up this big project so I can completely transform the surface over time!

Corrupt blocks will only invalidate the house if the {Corruption} count goes too high, having hallow and sunflowers present will offset this.

heres something i found out, if you paint celestial bricks gray and put only one below a block that blends, it can be ised to add texture to stone buildings. when not limited I usually use it with smooth sandstone, dynasty wood and a few others, this can help give the build a more varied brick look.
