I didn't expect to be friends so soon - Takis Shelter

This boy was locked in a chain all his life .He is more than 4 years old,he looks sick with 100nds of ticks....People reported it so the municipal police of ierapetra ( Marinos Gaitanakis ) visited the dog ,in the village Kavousi ,and he found the owner to take the dog away from there . They took the owner to court and we took the dog away from there .
This is the Official Takis Shelter channel. This is the shelter's one and only channel. Every small donation is greatly appreciated and it is directly used for the rescues and the welfare of the animals at the shelter.

Little Jane got adopted! Her new parents provided hydrotherapy to make her back legs stronger. She also uses a wheelchair sometimes. She's loved and very well taken care of.

It takes a long time for dogs to get over being starved, months or years. It's so sad for them, to be short all the time of food and clean water, chained up, no love. They are lucky to be in such a beautiful shelter now. Peace, food, water and love.

I can't express properly how much love and respect I have for this man and the work he does. I miss Black and Scooby Do so much. I don't know how Takis can endure. When I was 13 my sister have me a present of a parakeet and I named her "Keetie" We loved each other so much. When I came home from school she would be so excited and chirped until I let her out. She wanted to sit on my shoulder and give me sweet little bird kisses and we couldn't live without one and other. One day I came home and she was laying on the bottom of her cage, very sick. My wonderful mom put us in the car and rushed to the vet. I'll never forget her saying "we're almost there" to which I responded, "turn around mom and go back home, Kerrie just died in my hands. I cried in my room for three days morning and night, begging God to bring her back to life. Up til that point in life I had never experienced the loss I someone I loved so much. My next big loss was my dog Baby. She was with me from 91 until her passing in my arms. 17 years later. I swear that dog stayed alive for me for so long because she knew I was mourning my dads death and didn't want to hurt me by dying. Talk about crying. They had to vacate the vets office and give me time to cry. I was a wreak. That wonderful dog saw me through the worst days of my life and still in the end she didn't want to leave me. Tell me why the best creatures in the world have the shortest life expectancies and shitty humans can go on living for years and years and do so much damage to those around them. What sucks is I love cats too but I'm allergic and they just devastate me. Otherwise I would go to the pound and snatch one up right now. I tried recently when my friend asked me to watch a stray for her. What a beautiful cat. Unfortunately is was so allergic I had to return the Cat and it took me a month for my swelling in my face and eyes to go away. Humf ... :(

I have been trying to figure out how to do the pool thing too, there are above ground pools that would be perfect,not too expensive but I'm not quite sure how to get it shipped to Greece. If 30 or 40 people pitched in 10 dollars that would get him a pretty nice one.

In respect to Black I Totally agree with you Takis. Would people euthanize one of their family in same circumstance . They do not worry about their illness in the same way people do. I have similar situation with one of my cats at present. I believe my cat will tell me when to call it a day and I believe Black will do the same with you. His sad - life of isolation, hunger, pain and misery - eyes make my eye's stream, esp when he enjoys being stroked. Probably never, ever known a kind hand or voice, before.
