For context on deep voice Fluttershy: In the episode Fluttershy really wants to perform with the acapaella group but has too much stage fright to actually do it. Then when Big Mac loses his voice during a turkey call competition, Rarity remembers that the poison joke plant they encountered in the forest during the first episode with Zecora way back in season one made Fluttershy's voice deep like Big Mac's and asks her if she'd be willing to use the plant to temporarily change her voice and fill in for him once or twice. She's still too scared to be on stage herself, hence the hiding while lip syncing. But she ends up enjoying herself so much that she keeps agreeing to more and more performances and ends up getting so lost in the performance that she accidentally reveals herself.

Same here I was actually trying so So SO hard not to cry during it but yet the tears still came. It’s to emotional to not feel anything. I love your explanation for 'Open Up Your Eyes'. I do wish that the film LITERALLY had more build-up for The Storm King's arrival to Canterlot. Such build-up would've been from the prequel comics with certain moments being animated & playing before the main title of the film or after the original start of the film (deleted scene) where Twilight Sparkle explains who she is, explaining about the Princesses, and her friends. The film could've been SOOOO much more.

@@COSun25 Yeah, the movie had so much done so amazingly well, the animation was amazing, the songs were incredible, the VA's knocked it out of the park, Tempest was WAY more amazing a character then anyone thought she was going to be But the story itself just, was not up to the task of making it all work when brought together. So many plot holes, so many things that it makes no sense why the characters are doing them beyond "it's what the plot needs to happen" and just, no real good use of build ups or pay offs along the way. Things just... happen.

The reason Fluttershy had a deep voice is because of a call back to an earlier episode where the Mane Six are affected by a weird flower that pulls pranks on people. Its effect varies, but Fluttershy's effect was giving her a super deep bass voice. Big Mac loses his voice, so she steps in to help while Mac lip syncs.

It helped me through incredibly tough years; being bullied and kicked about from when I was 12 til when I was 18. For Fluttershy's Male Voice, it's actually a Call Back from an episode where they run into Flowers called Poison Joke where random stuff happen on each of the Ponies. Pinkie Pie's Tongue is in a way Twisted, making her words makes no sense. Twilight Sparkles Horn is "Limp" with Blue Spots, which is also a hidden adult joke. Rarity's Mane is literally like a Mop. Rainbow Dash's Nickname of Rainbow Crash is literal. Apple Jack became tiny, giving her a nickname of Tiny Jack of something. Lastly, I think, is Fluttershy's Voice becoming the opposite from Feminine Soft to Masculine Deep.

All of the singers in MLP: FiM were (and still are) phenomenal, and, in all honesty, it's actually quite uncommon to have a character's singing VA be different to their regular VA. Twilight (voiced by Tara Strong, sung by Rebecca Shoichet, Rarity (speaking voice: Tabitha St Germain, singing voice: Kazumi Evans), Pinkie Pie (speaking: Andrea Libman, singing: Shannon Chan-Kent) and Princess Luna (speaking: Tabitha St Germain, singing: Kazumi Evans (Season 4 finale)/Aloma Steele (Season 6 and Season 9)) are the only examples I can think of (except for Sweetie Belle in Season 1, who's singing voice was provided by Applebloom's VA, Michelle Creber. After that, Claire Corlett, Sweetie's actual VA, did the singing herself). I think special mentions deserve to go to Ashleigh Ball, who not only voices two of the Mane 6 when they're speaking, but when they're singing as well, and Michelle Creber, who has a properly amazing voice, with some pretty cool music of her own out in the world. Additionally, a lot of credit needs to go to Daniel Ingram, the songwriter for the series, including most Equestria Girls tracks. Without his insane level of talent, none of those songs would exist. Finally, in case you weren't aware, two things: The Magic of Friendship Grows was the last thing we heard before the credits rolled on the final episode ever, so even today, nearly 4 years later, I still get teary-eyed, and I'm a man in my mid-20s! Second, regarding Open Up Your Eyes, that villain song from the 2017 movie, the VA (speaking and singing) for the villain in question, Tempest Shadow, is none other than the cinematic powerhouse Emily Blunt, the woman who brought Mary Poppins back, went boating down a tropical river with The Rock, and starred alongside her real-life husband in A Quiet Place.

1st Song - Fluttershy helps out by using Poison Joke to become Flutter Guy (Callback to Season 1) and gets into it. She enjoys singing, but still to shy to actually perform in front of everypony else. 2nd Song - CMC songs are almost always about their own personal growth, or of the growth of others that they have influenced in some way. Song 3 - Final song of the series, always makes me emit Liquid Pride. It's about 10-15 or so years in the future and shows how everypony has changed and grown, Twilight ruling Equestria, Fluttershy and Discord at their nature preserve, Pinkie Pie married to Cheese Sandwich (voiced by Weird Al) and having a kid, Dash leading the Wonderbolts, Rarity embracing her aging, and AJ still working the farm, and wearing Granny Smith's shawl (while Applebloom is wearing Goldie Delicous's and is teaching at the school with Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle) Song 3 - WHY ARE VILLAIN SONGS ALWAYS THE BEST SONGS OUT OF ANYTHING!

For "Open Up Your Eyes", the ponies were not scared of her because she had no magic, but rather because her magic went haywire and became unstable, making her seem like a danger to others, so out of an irrational fear of her, her community shunned her. And she goes on to take revenge on pony kind by being a villain

Tempest Shadow is one of my favourite villains... moooostly because like, cool design, cool song, and she's a neat foil to Twilight. Also, while some argue that the reason why they ran from Tempset was because her magic was out of control, that was because her horn was broken. And no one did anything to maybe figure out a way to fix it? No one tried to talk her into maybe trying to use other methods of playing alongside the other ponies? No pony tried to play differently with her knowing her horn wouldn't be functional? Little Tempest must have been so frustrated trying to do what her friends were doing but not being able to becuse now her horn doesn't function as it should've, and in that moment her friends DID abandon her. And while you can't really blame them, you can't blame Tempest for being jaded by it. On the other hand, the whole helping someone take over the world thing and whatnot... yeah, that was definitely HER choice and her's alone... but still. Some of the comments feel a bit like they're victim blaming the tiny Tempest, when I think it be best to focus on the fact that she had choices she could make if they wanted to argue against her sympatheticness. Also, maybe the majority if not all of the ponies in that village were unicorns so maybe she stood out for not having a functional horn anymore? The foals in that scene where she's failing at controlling the ball with her horn are all unicorns.... so if we rely on context and visual clues... I think it'd be a reasonable conclusion to make...

Honestly, even if I wasn't that much a big fan of the show, its ending is one of the best I have seen. It tells exactly what the characters, especially Twilight, learned about frienship and what they gained from it and why it's worth to pass their knowledge to others. The opening says it: Twilight wondered what frienship was. This music answers her question. The first episode begins with a book opening and the last episode ends with that same book closing, the same way it ends with the first notes of the opening. Twilight learned what frienship is so the story is complete. It's time to end the show and let new ones begin. This song has just enough fanservice to please the fans PLUS it uses it well to give us nostalgia, to remind us all we learned and felt with this show and to let us say goodbye to the characters. It could have ended up so wrong. The people who worked on this part have done a wonderful job putting all of that into one song (including the animation of course).

Love watching MLP related stuff and yes the final song of the show made everyone cry. The song itself is beautiful and showing everypony grown up hits the heart in the most spectacular way. MLP:FiM ran for almost a decade and over that time millions of people watch it and no other show will ever come close to it the way it brought people together. Even now we flock to reactors who watch it just to see them fall in love with a show we hold so dear to our hearts. There will be no better ending to a show than MLP. It was perfect in every way, shape and form.

So the context verse got the music big Mac lost his voice Fluttershy drink a potion to give her a deep voice because she knew the words to the song but she has stage fright so she had to lip-synch she couldn’t just replace big Mac but flutter shy I secretly love singing because that was her favourite group and she’s always wanted to be part of it but she has stage fright so she couldn’t so every time someone would ask them to perform they would, for sure I would convince them to perform so that’s why they go everywhere

I remember my child self feeling so happy and that it was so cool that Twilight was turned into a princess because she solved the riddle of the book. Remember watching those 2 episodes on a loop for a while. I stopped watching mlp when twilight got an apprentice, it felt like the show showed more about her and the annoying OP baby alicorn.

6:40 Well it's all 3 of their motifs together with the general "CMC" plucky strings so Applebloom is where the country bit is coming from but man I forgot what a banger this one is with that crashing percussion! They've also got versions on YT of each vocalist's version that they strung together which each cover a different range and feel almost like different takes on the same song. (Sweetie being high, Applebloom being middle and Scootaloo being lowest)

I love the comments you made during the magic of friendship grows and fun fact I did cry during that song at least 5 times because the only thing I hate more than change and the end of a story, an era, is the feeling hitting in that it’s over and there really wasn’t anything more they could have done. Sure they could have gone through so many more adventures but at the end of the day, there’s only so much they could have done with the series and they’ve already gone above and beyond. MLP gen 4 is my childhood and it will forever be in my heart. And my Spotify but we don’t talk about that. Like seriously my favourite MLP song isn’t even on Spotify, not even a cover. It’s A Kirin tale. Also sorry to burst your bubble but becoming a princess’ assistant wouldn’t make you buff, the last episode of MLP, the episode the song is in, is a time skip. Spike just grew up. Also no one really knows why but ig aging when you’re a princess just means growing longer legs and a defined jawline instead of getting gray hairs and wrinkles 🤷‍♀️
