I DIDN'T THINK THIS WOULD EVER HAPPEN
Today I show you something my friend did for me that I didnt think would ever get done but it finally happened and Im super pumped about it. Living off grid in a camper while building a house has been a challenge but this simple gesture means a lot.

I think your pressure tank is water logged. You need to bleed of some water till there is a good bit of air in your pressure tank, then it will pressure up and pump will shut off. Pretty simple.

Could be a faulty pressure switch as well
@gn02020202

Also, could be the inverter (if modified sine) might not be able to fully power the pump to get the pressure above the pressure switch

Well pump still acts like there is a leak. Double check down stream of the pressure tank for any leaks. Then check if the well pump has a bad pressure sensor. This could cause it to continually run

It looks like your standard centrifugal pump. They have in general fairly low pressure building capability. Low pressure - high flow, high pressure - low flow. What he needs to do, is probably adjust the shut off psi down 5 psi, or something like 2 turns on the adjusting nut on the pressure switch.

The expo looked fantastic. You guys did so much work. As for your solar panel setup, looks really good. You might want to think about putting wheels on your rack that holds the solar panels. It would make it much easier to move it if you needed to.

We had an issue with our pump running constantly. We had a pump service guy out. Our problem was leaks between the pump in the well and the pressure tank. We had old metal pipe that just gave out in places. We replaced the pump, pipe, and pressure switch.

Dutch, if I heard you correctly, when you shut off your main valve the pump stopped running. This would indicate the pressure switch worked and shut the system off. This would indicate that there is indeed a leak downstream of the main valve. It would need to be a fairly significant leak for your pump not to catch up and reach set pressure.

That's great that Martin and Gary hooked up your solar system. The pump only pumps when power is supplied to it. I believe you need a pressure switch for your pump that turns off the pump when the pressure rises to a preset amount of pressure and when there's no water flow through the system. When the pressure drops below the preset amount, the pump turns on. The pump will only come on when using water or you have a leak like you mentioned.

Loving all the videos out on the expo. Glad it was successful. Wish i could have gone but was just too far for me to travel. I am in upper new england. 😔 Btw. I would stand them panels back on the bottom board. Just remove the top board then put another board up higher back farther for the top to rest on. Some of the channels i watch installed their panels on metals posts like fence posts to keep them stable from wind and set at the angle you have yours. Lowest level 5 ft off the ground. This way they can clean the snow off when it snows and the panels are not in shadow from anything on the property.

Dutch can you give us the measurements of the stand that will hold the solar panels including the size of the wood for the frame. We had to demolish our big workshop due to damage by Hurricane Ida. We will not need such a big workshop so we were thinking of putting the bigger 200 watt panels along the side as it will get full sun there. We are blessed indeed to have such great friends to help us. A local church helped us to demo and haul all away in 4 hours. Blessed indeed. Happy Birthday to Hadley. I am a middle child and the eldest daughter so I understand her. Sending prayer for you and yours.

Happy Birthday, Hadley!! What a sweet, intelligent, kindhearted, pretty young lady you are becoming!! Hope this year brings you much joy and adventure!! Sean, Martin explained most of how the solar works, but does the power stored in the batteries then go through the inverter and out to your appliances, ie well pump, freezer, washer, dryer, etc? Sorry, just learning all this (at almost 76), who knows when I might need to know and use this info. Thanks to you I know how a septic system and leech lines work and what it all looks like!! How great to have your heater delivered, another item checked off your home build list, looking forward to the installation and further progress on your home! From all I've seen and read your Expo was a total success!!! Congratulations!!! looking forward to next year as too much happened too close together to make it work this year. God bless!!

You can have all the valves off around your property, but if there is a leak in a line going to any of those valves it will keep that pump running. Check the last line you worked on, which would probably be the one to your house for the toilet or the frost plug you installed on that same line.

I have had mine for 4 years. I put one in for my dad. Both are multi-function. 12v, power converter and on grid. Each to what ever they do. I am just shairing. On mine I have hookup for an test. Three separate solar systems to my set of batteries. At one time. For an test. Worked. Also with what he did. At distance you loose your Watts and amps. Yet that system just even plugged up to your batteries on your camper. Can run your camper as well. Then as you said. Solar plannels up to your camper. Both systems can work together but yet give you more ah's. Again. Just shairing. Each to their own. Take care.

FYI. 12v with 12v. 48v with 48v. Other then that they can be stacked. Camper 12v solar. Then can be used to up keep any other 12v system. Tractor, car, truck, ect. Mine here is 12v. Many batteries. Yet different types. Except lithium. I wanted to see if I could every day batteries and mix them. Worked. Some day hoping to get into lithium batteries. Yet my system is out in my shop. Not temperature controlled. Therefore lithium is not my option. I run an 5000 power converter at 500 amps. No 220v. Solar is amazing. If one uses it correctly. As watching watts on usage. Endless things you can do with it. I am impressed. Have fun with it.
