My list of top ten Pentatonix songs every reactor should do (some you've already done): 1. "Hallelujah" (with Avi as bass) 2. "The Sound of Silence" or "Amazing Grace" (with Matt as bass) Great songs, great arrangements, all four vocalists have solos that showcase them. You can hear Mitch's gorgeous lower range in "Amazing Grace". 3. "Daft Punk" - their first *Grammy* win for best arrangement, and you'll see why. No added effects (and there's an off-mic performance to prove it). Their other two Grammys are "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" and "Jolene". 4. "Bohemian Rhapsody" - masterful rendition of a classic song, crazy how this instrument-heavy rock song can be sung by only five voices 5. "Imagine" - beautiful arrangement with a strong visual message for these times 6. "Evolution of Michael Jackson" (or any of their other *Evolution* videos. Pick your favorite artist) - these are medleys on steroid, *recorded live in the studio* in one continuous take, incredible transitions for 20+ songs in 6-7 minutes 7. "Can't Sleep Love" (Popspring concert version) or "Love Me When I Don't" - a taste of their *original music* 8. "Aha" (Star Vista Singapore version) - an iconic concert performance. The combination of Mitch's highs and Avi's lows is out of this world. 9. "Say Something" - a powerfully emotional rendition that showcases *Kirstin* as the lead. She usually sings harmonies or shares the lead with Scott and/or Mitch 10. "Havana" - Kevin does Latin percussion here and the harmonies are just gorgeous.

I jokingly say when Pentatonix does a cover it's sounds better, I call it being"Pentacized". Check out their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody it's with Avi their original bass. The sound that they do is amazing. Kevin the beatboxer never seems to get the credit due, but he's the one that sets the beat. He also plays his cello "Beyoncé "

Yeah, Mitch's voice is pretty much perfect in everything he does! You should check out 'Your Power', it's his solo cover of a Billie Eilish song. The original is really good, but Mitch wrote and performed the piano and synths backing track and made it otherworldly. It's amazing! I love your enthusiasm and obvious enjoyment! I'm looking forward to following your PTX journey! And yay! Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy is fantastic!

Such a fun reaction. If you like the fun ones, there's a lot more of those in their repertoire. I am partial to an older one which most people forget, which is called Cruisin for a Brusin. I also love their fast paced original Sing. How about an original to begin with? I'd suggest Can't Sleep Love or Sing, which are older ones, or Coffee in Bed, which is newer. They also just dropped another commercial-like version of a newer original called A Little Space. It's also brilliant.

My new favorite of theirs is the Sound of Silence. It's very different than the original, very Pentatonix, but great in it's own regard. They have other medleys if that's your thing: Daft Punk (won them their first Grammy), Evolution of Music, Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Ariana Grande. Since you liked Hallelujah, Drummer Boy and Mary Did You Know are structured similarly, and are just as gorgeous! They have a classics album you might like. If you listen to "Imagine", make sure it's the music video. Listen to Bohemian Rhapsody with headphones on. "Mr. Grinch" is Matt's first song singing lead vocal (he's only been with them since 2017) and he has so much fun with it. It's not one of their stand-out songs, but it's a good intro to Matt as a performer. If you can find their performances on the Sing-off from 2011, "Your Love is My Drug" (second performance) is a very creative arrangement, and "Video Killed the Radio Star" (4th performance) and "Dog Days are Over" (episode 10, judge's choice) both got high praise from the judges. If you're into modern pop music, I highly recommend just googling "pentatonix covers" and listening to covers of the songs you like. They've done over a hundred. Welcome to the fandom!

Mitch really is perfect for everything. While he always maintains his signature style, he morphs into whatever role - I feel like it's especially apparent in the Evolutions of Rhianna, Michael Jackson and Beyoncé and when you get around to their side projects... when Superfruit (Mitch & Scott) goof around with musicals/broadway. It is ALL "damn, Mitch should do this forever". He also has two solo songs he did 7 or 8 years ago that spend a lot of time in his lower range which is astoundingly just as mindblowingly beautiful as his higher register. Mitch also has more tattoos than Kirstin, though he fairly recently blacked out his SpongeBob half sleeve. Scott has a few, including two matching tattoos with Mitch from the days they basically lived in eachothers' pockets.
@MollyBeeReacts
@MollyBeeReacts 3 жыл бұрын
Oh wow really?! I can't wait to see all of their tattoos! Did he black out the SpongeBob half sleeve just because he decided he wanted a blackout sleeve (I know some people who just love that look) or he just didn't want the SpongeBob tattoos any more? And I'll have to check the side projects out also, thanks!
@perfectkismet
@perfectkismet 3 жыл бұрын
@@MollyBeeReacts I think it was 1/2 and 1/2 that he was over the SpongeBob and that he liked the look. He was asked if he still loved SpongeBob and he said he did, but more of an "in his heart" than "on his arm" way. His anime-based black and white tattoos seem to still be intact. His aethsthetic changes a LOT over the years and he's now all about black and said he feels weird wearing color. It's funny if you watch a lot of their interviews or Superfruit vlogs, to follow his evolution. At one point around 2014 he was low-key making fun of people who, say, bleach their hair. In 2015 fans were editing his photos to make him punk with bright hair and lots of tattoos. By the end of 2016 he had both done a bleached hair phase and evolved into the punk memes with tons of tattoos and purple hair. 2017 he shaved his head and 2018 he had a Freddie Mercury moustach and then a mullet for 2019. I don't care for his current aesthetic no matter how avant-garde, but the only time he looks completely weird to me is when he *doesn't* stand out in some way - circa 2012 when he was slightly overweight and had the most normal clothes and hair of the bunch. Mitch in cardigans and tshirts (when everyone else is hella styled) is so wrong 😆 Give me the oversized poet shirts, platform heels and award show dresses any day.

The Five Faces of New Pentaholics 1. The most common is the Mitch Slapped. Commonly found when Mitch is heard for the first time in Hallelujah 2. The Wide Eyed Look of Disbelief. Normally found when you hear their Wall of Sound. Found when listening to Mary Did You Know, Imagine, and Mad World. 3. The I Didn’t Want It to End face. Most commonly found after listening to the 90s Dance Medley. It can also be found after listening to any and all of their medleys and evolutions. 4. The Teary Eyed Look. This is commonly found when listening to an emotional song of theirs or just the sheer beauty of their work. Commonly found when listening to Mary Did You Know, Hallelujah, Amazing Grace, Imagine and most especially Thank You. 5. The What Did I Just Hear Face. Happens when Pentatonix starts strong, or when you hear a really special note or Kevin sound. Is usually accompanied by rewinding the video or song to make sure your ears really heard what they heard. Those time are too many to list, but the most common rewind at the start moment is the beginning of Sound of Silence.

Yes! Another brilliant reaction!!! Mitch's voice really is perfect for Everything!!!!! You are right, no instruments here - if there is one (Kevin's cello) it'll be incredibly visible and featured in the video. Scott and Mitch have a lot of awesome tattoos too btw (I'm a tattooed girl as well). PTX are truly addictive!!! Word of warning - pauses, their label WILL block your videos otherwise, especially to some of their most popular ones. You really need to add those pauses unfortunately. Although I have seen another reactor lay a filter over the video and get away with it that way, so that may work to avoid blocking without pauses. They're doing well with that version so far. Can't wait for more, and I'm so glad you go the headphones. Enjoy and thank you!

@@MollyBeeReacts You may be interested in other a capella groups on YT that are amazing as well. Pentaholics may or may not agree, but at some point you may want to check out others. PTX tends to stick with contemporary rock and pop. A group called Home Free, whose fan base I think is called Home Fries covers more country and country rock. Then there are individuals who perform a capella with their own voice, layering multiple recordings of only themselves doing all the harmonies and beatboxing. Jared Halley is one of them. The words of every reactor that watches this video..."Is that it? Noooo! I need more!" Every. single. one. So excited to find another reactor discovering PTX! You won't be disappointed by any video you choose by Pentatonix. It doesn't matter if it's not a genre you would normally listen to or not. Don't let that keep you from listening to the song, you will be surprised. I am not a huge fan of pop music, and rap doesn't appeal to me at all, but if Pentatonix does it, it's amazing. I am obsessed with anything they cover and their original music as well. I watched your other reaction and I loved it, but reserved my sub until I saw that you had another ptx reaction out. So have my sub! 😁💚 If you keep reacting to PTX, the Pentaholics (That's what we Pentatonix fans call ourselves) will mob your channel with love and tons of helpful info!

We all feel the same way about PTX videos... they never last long enough! Such a great reaction! Would love to join your reaction to their cover of John Lennon's "Imagine", and their first Grammy winner, a "Daft Punk" medley.

Great reaction! They make you want to sing, so a fun one is their original Sing, would be great, their most musically challenging, in my opinion, is Making Christmas, an amazing video with so many transitions vocally and so much fun, especially if you like the Nightmare Before Christmas, definitely a must watch, I am now subscribed, Pentatonix and Dimash ❤️❤️❤️

Addictive for sure! During quarantine I binge watched all their videos (plus Superfruit, which is Mitch and Scott’s side project) at least three times! They can lift you up from a bad day every time. If I could suggest a couple favorites...LaLa Latch, SING (an original), Attention and New Rules. I could make that list much longer but that’s a start. All of their evolution videos are awesome too! My favorites are Ariana Grande and Rihana.

PTX = musical magic..period..incomparable talent. What a rush of nostalgia!! Loved it! Thanks..ps love the dragons! For an Angelic/heavenly sound try "Can you feel the love Tonight" or Imagine...It's just Mitch..Kevin (the beat boxer) Is a world class Cellist and occasionally he will break out "Beyonce" as in "Shallow."

Not sure how Mortal Combat and Disney come together in your world...but there's another a capella group I suggest for a fun time. Voctave is an 11 member group that sounds like 40 and wraps you in warm memories with their Disney Princess Medley.

Am sure by now you have seen a whole lot of their videos. I have enjoyed them for a while. Think the 1st I watched was their version of the Disturbed version of Sound of Silence. Really like the Disturbed version. 2nd I saw was Hallelujah. So many good versions of songs. Like Bohemian Rhapsody, Amazing Grace and since you enjoyed this, they do Daft Punk.

X out the ad at the bottom of your screen! Btw, Scott founded the band, and I'm not enamored by Mitch because he can sing high, I think Scott is usually the best, and normally takes the lead, but some videos he lets the other members shine!!

It doesn't matter how long their music lasts, it's never long enough. And, tell me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't they make a full cover of each of those songs into a full album? I think so. lol
