"Honestly finishing these workouts while changing my diet is very concerning." Quinton loves to work out and has always thought that he needed to eat a lot of animal-based protein to see results. After seeing the documentary "The Game Changers," he decided to see what happens if he switches to eating exclusively plant-based foods and proteins.

I went plant based to fight my rheumatism at the discretion of my doctors and literally within 3 months all my health problems went away magically! It's been over 12 months now and all of those health problems are still MIA. Even my family went plant based after seeing how well my health changed. Going strong and absolutely regret not doing this earlier, oh well :/.

My rheumatism (AKA arthritis) basically disappeared when I went from plant based to pure vegan. My chronic back pain too. One thing to watch out for, though, is oxylates. If you make green smoothies with tons of raw spinach, you can make your joint pain worse.

Some Guy same here. My back pain disappeared and some knee pain I’ve had also disappeared. I’m Dominican and I started by just making my favorite meals without meat, like rice beans with Cooked okra or cooked eggplant instead of meat. And plantains, with veggies, instead of meat. I’ve been doing this for about 11 months now and now it’s fun to try crazy recipes on the weekends, like carrot dogs and making my own bean burgers. It gets easier and easier to make some go to meals and it can be a lot of sun to try new recipes.

@tubenshaft yes the north loves its milk and milk products but in the rest of India even in the north east people actually don't eat that much of ghee or cream because they are not the milk producing states in general. If someone doesn't want to replace the authentic ingredients in the recipes then they can try out other state cusines like Maharastrian or gujrati or the iyyer cusine from the south of India which are mostly vegan and the spice level will also suite the western taste buds.

Wonderful! But not surprising. When I went vegan 14 years ago for the animals, I had no idea how much it would benefit me in so many ways! It’s the opposite of sacrifice; it’s abundance. I’ve discovered so many new foods and eat just about everything I ate before, only the plant-based versions. Just as delicious if not more so, and you don’t feel like crap after eating it. I just had a blood test, and everything was normal. My protein, iron and b12 was higher than my nonvegan friend who was low in b12. I’m turning 61 this year, and I know that this lifestyle has kept me healthy and vibrant!

I think high protein is good for people looking to build a lot of muscle, but yeah what people eat should depend on what works for them. It's why I disagree with general diets that tell people specifically how much of a certain thing to eat, because it should really depend on the person, and one diet doesn't fit everyone.

One of my "hacks" for successful vegan cooking is to always have a variety of "clean" and delicious sauces on hand: teriyaki, sweet & spicy, curry etc, etc. I can then stir fry tofu & veggies, beans & veggies, tempeh & veggies (you get the idea), combine with a little sauce and serve over quinoa, rice or pasta or in a wrap. Easy and always there.

The weigh-in comparisons are a great example of numbers not equating to the transformation such as increase in jump height. The experience of what each change offers such as ordering take-out, cooking fresh, and subscribing to meal delivery service is invaluable b/c you see what you can really benefit from in all areas in ways you don't clearly get from something like reading an article. Basically you just went for it and was able to reap the benefits. This was refreshing to see your optimism about the challenge and review about what did or did not work for your lifestyle.

9:10 If you lift the weight scale after weighing in, you'll notice the grass is crushed. A portion of your weight went through the scale (not measuring it) to crush the grass. You need to place the scale a hard reference surface in order to measure your weight more accurately.

To explain (if someone doesn't see what I mean) just like in @Takira Sharde 's description, The scale uses the 4 feet on the floor to sense the difference from the mass applied to the top of the scale. Look up "strain gauge load cell". When you step on the scale, you are bending that load cell just a bit. The strain gauges measure that bend and a program converts it into weight. The problem is with the tall grass and carpet touch the bottom of the scale that aren't the feet and take away from the measurement. If you use a board under the scale so only the feet touch, you will get an accurate measurement. I was a Metrology Calibration Technician and learned way too much about scales.

I love that you have taken the time to try another approach to being an athlete! Whenever we think of protein we almost immediately think of chicken, beef, and pork. I like that you are not only giving us a new perspective and sharing light on a simple way we can help this beautiful earth we live on:) thank you so much! I really want to help others and have an impact like you! Any tips for a person who has recently started a vegan KZbin channel?

A lot of people think that sushi has to include fish. It does not. Sushi has to do with the type of rice used to make it. Seaweed gives it that unique flavor.

This was actually really helpful and encouraging. I did a 7 day vegan challenge just to see how I liked it and it went really well. I felt “lighter” and enjoyed creating new meals. I think I have to adjust to no eggs or butter though, so I have thought more about plant based vs. vegan. To hear him at the end say he’s considering 90% plant base and just doing his best helped me to see all the options to do whatever fits me. Peace and love to all!✌🏽❤️

well even the skin tone improved from looking dull to vibrant - like viewing from a camera going from unfocused and not photoshopped for color to frame-focused and photoshopped to increase the color and contrast/highlights! Very cool! Not only that, but seems a little more invigorated too for energy.

I really like this concept. I view food (or really everything) as energy. Apart from harming the animals that people consume you are also taking in that animals energy the time it died. So if an animal was scared and tortured then died you are now consuming those energies into your body. We wonder why people are so depressed and so anxious, it is because of what we put into our bodies. Energy is everything.

That documentary changed me too. The very next day I started eating more plantbased. I'm now on month 5 of living what I like to call "Veganish". If I cook for myself or choose the restaurant it's 100% vegan. If I am at someone's house or someone else picks the place I'll eat what they give me (cause my momma raised me right). One of the best things to come out of this pandemic for me.

I love it! I think its really important for people to remember that you don't have to be perfect with this diet, just do whats right for you. My dad surprisingly started a plant based diet after watching Game Changer too and he is plant based throughout the week and eats whatever he wants on the weekend. I think thats a great schedule, especially since he LOVED his whole fatty milk with the red top. Like that was his go-to drink choice no matter what, with ice... And of course meat! I took a picture of some wild turkeys just walking across the street and he told me to catch it and fry it (I'm plant based). So for him to go plant based was a shocker for me lol

we’ve been vegan almost 4 years. Lean muscle mass has not dropped at all. And I am a mesomorph. Fat has definitely fallen off but the weight immediate loss stops from going vegan stops after a while simply because of the change in diet. The rest you have to maintain or add more cardio and less calories consumed to lose more. Dope to see Quinton. We need more representation from vegans of color

I have been able to gain muscle mass on a vegan diet by using strength training and increasing my calories using smoothies made with soy milk, fruit, ground flax, raw pumkin seeds, raw oatmeal, and peanut butter powder. I have been a mesomorph all my life, and underweight, but the smoothies have helped me gain fifteen pounds of healthy weight so far. I finally reached the recommended BMI, but have to work at it to stay that way.

After a few months on a diet with way more animal protein (sports trainer ignored my kidney problems) I was really sick. A list of issues, which took 6 months to fix. 1 year and a heap of $$ down the drain. Went vegan and lost 8 kilos in 10 weeks, 10 kilos in 14 weeks. The after noon naps which were getting longer and longer stopped. I regained 2 hours in a day! Energy up and head works better. Now I go with the flow, but always back to vegan.
