@bonnieboo2159

I also had this mindset when I first played. I even resorted to using cheats to get achievements faster, just because I wanted to see everything the game had to offer and didn’t want to wait. But after getting 100%, I didn’t feel quite the fulfillment that I was expecting. So I started a new save and told myself I could not use the cheats. To slow down and find how I wanted to play, not how I felt I had to play. Last night as I dropped off a gift to Sandy for her birthday, I decided to stay a while to watch what she and Emily did as they hung out. I stayed there until midnight, when Emily finally left to go back home, and saw Sandy’s adorable little wave as her friend got on the bus 🥺 I have finally learned what Stardew Valley had been trying to tell me all along. It’s ok to slow down, and in fact it is better. I work a 9-4 job at a school. I love my job and adore my students. And I am content with my hours. But I still feel that pressure brought on by the schedule that I know my students feel as well. As well as the overall structure of the school. I often feel that we could be doing things differently, that we could be doing things better. But I have no power to change that. And so I focus on what I can change. I can change myself, how I do things, how I spend my time. One day, I hope to have a life that is truly my own, to have a schedule that I have set for myself and for my family, that allows us to take things slow when we decide that we need to. Of course there will be busy times. But I don’t have to let my life revolve like a forever spinning door. Sorry this post turned out longer than I expected it too. 😅 Just felt like I had a lot to say. Good luck to you Lily, and good luck to all who have decided to take it slow.

I always loved this aspect of the game. Going around feeling myself as a part of the nature that lives around the player brought to life by the amazing ost and pretending to do stuff with the npcs. Like looking at the sea with Sebastian or hanging out at the tavern with Pam and Gus, or even staying fit at Caroline's. This game helped me so much during the pandemic to learn about peace of mind and enjoying life instead of chasing it. The saddest thing is that if you look at it. Even in the game, humans are shown as the only ones unable to be happy cause of society itself. Everyone has problems, things that cause them sorrow, like Evelyn being afraid of death, always remembering the good old days, while George lost his legs in the mines. Or Pam being an alcoholic cause of her problems and being abusive to Penny. There is also a hecking war in the background, and I was so sure after the beach event that Sam and Vincent were never going to see their dad again. And he did come back, but he can't even enjoy a dance or popcorn cause of his trauma. And in all of this mess, here comes the player, who can reconnect with nature, like literally with the junimos lol, and can also help not only the valley but the town to heal.

I guess I started doing that before this video. Grandpa comes at the beginning of Year 3. So, I decided why do the community center in 1 year, when I concentrate on the greenhouse first. I usually get that done by Winter Year 1. Then I have 1 year to complete the rest because I get the statue from Grandpa at the beginning of year 3. Do I need to speed through it all? I can enjoy the conversations and stuff. Did you know that Clint asks Emily for a date? Most people don't. I saw the scene and I was happy with Clint and Emily.

You'll be back! no one leaves the valley muahahahaaa. I just got back into Stardew valley but im also playing moonstone island and My Time at Sandrock. I played a very ea version of Forever skies and im watching its progress, at some point i plan on getting back to Coral island and Travellers rest. A old game that i like just as much as SDV is Subnautica so maybe you should take a look at that one. A game i backed on kickstarter and am very excited for is Pixelia so iv been actively looking for Pixelia content lol. well where ever you end up ill be keeping an eye on the channel to see what your covering next

I was playing Coral Island a lot, especially before the full release. After over 800 hours in SDV, I needed something different. I recently started a new save in SDV & it felt like coming home. Coral Island is visually stunning but none of the games I've tried have had that magical quality that I just can't put my finger on.

I love this video. It reminds us what gaming was about in the first place, an experience unlike any other, to have fun in a way you enjoy it and Stardew is honestly a great vessel for that. It's a nice change of pace from what I usually play which are story based games like the old Halo games. I joined Halo in 2005 so I was there for it's whole golden age until it started to die off in 2012. I love story based games for the emotions they work hard to convey and the lessons they teach and Old halo (Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach and Halo Wars) are amazing stories to get lost in that take the experience to new levels. It's a shame new halo couldn't follow up on that but that's a topic for another time. Stardew Valley is an amazing game to take at your own pace when nothing else quite works out since you are the architect of your own actions here. Everything you do shapes your life there and it's nice to watch your hard work and your time off pay out healthily If you are looking for new games and want a good change of pace, genre and everything you really should check out the 6 halo Titles I listed above. I listed them in release order there but I'll list the story order here to help you understand the flow of time there better Halo Wars Halo Reach Halo CE Halo 2 Halo 3: ODST Halo 3

If you feel like trying an indy game with a lot of heart that not a lot of people have herd about, try Recettear: An Item Shop Tale. The game is very sweet and super charming. This definately isn't Stardew Valley, but its got some of the same vibes. No growing crops. No watering. Monster Farming is totally optional. Like seriously, monster farming is for fun. Not for profit. Don't spend all day behind a counter, get out and interact with the NPCs, they have cool stories.

I can relate. Played a lot on PC with info mods to show favorites, time remaining, etc. and trying to play close to perfection. Now, playing with friends on Switch where mods aren't available, I feel like I'm actually getting to know the townspeople better and not stressing to maximize runtime of each machine, just getting to things when I'm already in the area. I saw Bloodborne in the montage, that's also one of my favorite games. The beginning can be tough but I think it's worth getting past the wall.

Terraria can be very rewardingly slow in the beginning, but I know there's a rabbit hole full of obssession down the later parts of it (end game weapons, armors, difficult bosses, more difficult bosses, EVEN MORE DIFFICULT BOSSES!! I did stardew Valley's plot in reverse in real life and I want to fucking die. I grew up on a farm. I had friends. People talked to each other face to face. Helped each other out. I had a nice family. But in my 20's I ended up moving to the city and my family sold the farm. I have never had so much regret and I can't undo it. This game is basically (albeit glorified) my old life. Yeah in my late 30's I have escaped corporate life but I still live in a dive apartment surrounded by people I don't even know. I do work outdoors as a landscaper and have a handyman side hustle but I miss the quiet seclusion of the village farmer life so bad. My goal is to one day get back out to where I came from. Not much has changed out here except for my family's old farm is now a junk yard and all the other people we competed with are also not farming anymore so the land is fallow and overgrown and nearly all the older folks I knew are dead and their kids moved away. It's terrible. If you are in the bumpkin life, don't give it up. You'll regret it.

So now i restart from beginning and try to play casually, i won't hurry to woo anyone, i won't comes to secret traveler every week and if i miss it then i miss it and still go on with everything i have. i understand that dtardew valley is your core and what bring us to you but you need some fresh air too to get the air keep fresh while waiting for the next update. Hope you won't burn out and keep make content. btw, i like pumpkins panic and stardew valley with chat control last time the most because its unpredicable!

But then i realized that's a curse too being you try to do the perfect days. So often i wish i could just chill in it, but you cant, have to rush to not miss things by a whole year.... Could you do a video on tips for a cozy/chill Stardew playthrough? I bought this game YEARS ago and started it multiple times but stopped because I’d get overwhelmed esp since all content on it is min/max players so the only goals I knew was o shoot for we’re all from them. I have a stressful job, a preschooler and a husband so I don’t want to be stressed when I play. I don’t mind taking my time with it. I just don’t know how to play in a relaxed way. One thing I noticed about this game is that it gets to a point where it feels like the in-game day becomes absolute repetition with no diversity. When that happens, I get bored and irritated but didn't realize that until now. So, I just started a new play through. I'm gonna just go put in enough crops to make enough money to get the things I want for the game to be 'fun,' And spend all the rest of the time wandering, collecting flowers, or doing whatever makes me happy while avoiding the feeling of repeating or looping.

I guess the marriage thing means you canonically suck the life out of your spouse depending on how many years you let your playthrough go. If you stop playing your save after getting married without kids & only a few years into marriage, it could be argued your spouse lives elsewhere for a while to pursue their dreams. Take Hailey for example. If we don't have kids and I don't play too long, I could argue that when I stopped playing she took a year or 2 away from the farm to pursue photography with my riches to help her. Like she'll be able to immediately afford an entire gallery showing for her photos in a swanky place. I can help her skip the starving artist phase. She wouldn't have to beg anyone just to let her in the door. I think after a year or 2 of making her name that way she could come back & just take business trips sometimes. It's just the games canonical events that hold us back 😭😂😂

Did the rise in urban gardens/suburban homesteads in the west, and the similarities of Joja to megacorps like Walmart and Amazon crushing small businesses and burning out employees making them want to return to more ecofriensly and nature based lifestyles like gardening and homesteading tip you off to the modern social commentary of the game? 😜 I'm joking in jest, but I do love how the game has that real world simulation lol
