I Discovered the STRONGEST Trap in TCM?!

@@RealAJaymes I hated the update that I believe that took place last February because it made it to where the victims immediately got snared from the well traps. It used to be to where they wouldn't get snared until they completed the stand up animation similar to this same improvised window trap. Hitch had to be more specific about the placement though, as the victim could miss the trap if it wasn't placed exactly right. Now when they fall they immediately get trapped, but the placement doesn't have to be exact so the chances of snaring is almost 100%. At least I assume it's still this way. I got burned out and quit playing a few days before The Mill was released.

I remember discovering it accidentally few months ago. Since then I always set the trap there and there's no sense to put it inside the house. Another trick discovered in family house is that playing Leatherface you can hit someone unlocking the basement doors staying on stairs (central staircase), victims are always surprised 👍

@@PancakeStew You usually let the other person get the kill out of respect, because they went out of their way and put in more effort to get it. They should get to see their killing animation and get their worth, especially characters like Sissy who can get a 121+ blood vial immediately after and feed grandpa a lot. A kill is a kill, but its still a good respect to let someone have their kill, it also grants them more points.

Alternate weapons for everyone: (Excluding Leatherface. It's Chain Saw Massacre for a reason.) Cook: A meat cleaver. He's the cook, he prepares meals out of the corpses, of course he has access to kitchen tools. It would swing faster, and cost less stamina, but do less damage than his broomstick. Hitchhiker: A wooden bat with nails in it. Something that's a little heavier for him, doing more damage per swing, but being slower to swing and costing more stamina. Johnny: A spanner. He does mechanic stuff a lot, so it would make sense for him to just pick up a tool and get to work. The damage would be lower, but the concussion effect would be more pronounced. Sissy: Piano wire. A special weapon that can't be used to just wildly swing on victims, and instead can do massive damage if used from directly behind a victim. Potentially instantly kills victims if she can land a hiding spot attack with it. The "attacks" would force a grapple, weighed heavier on Victim's getting out of it. Nancy: Hedging shears. She tends to the gardens on properties, so an additional gardening tool fits. Would have further range than her base weapon but deal less damage and swing a bit faster, the stamina costs would be unchanged. Hands: A plumber's wrench. A hefty piece of metal that you would *not* want to be smacked with. He needs to use both hands to swing this thing, so the attacks would be _even slower_ than normal and use even more stamina, but the hits would be devastating and possibly hit multiple victims like Leatherface.

What are Victims even supposed to do in this situation? They can't unlock a door because of security pins. They can't go up because of the traps (even with the increased speed of Bomb squad is it sometimes not possible because the house is so small) and the windows is a instant death. With Hands and the Grapple bug it's even worse. I have to face this so often and still don't have figured out a strategy that works.

Most strategies require multiple people, just like how the Family strategies do. If two people hop out front window at least one will survive, and usually while Family is distracted someone else should be unlocking a way out like Connie. Sometimes things are very difficult, but there’s a way to do well! Or at the very least get a bunch of points

It requires extreme coordination. Attack the side door. Leland to barge then retreat. Connie to use her ability to pop off the padlock then retreat. Sonny or Danny to use fast hands then retreat. Ana with high stamina and toughness to be the one that runs outside to tank and be a distraction to force a family member to go outside. Family house is ridiculous especially with a Cook/Hands/Hitch combo. Side garden needs to be linked to the back garden area before the backyard without having to go through the house to make it at least somewhat possible for a random queue. They can’t use the movie as an excuse because the layout is already not entirely accurate to the movie as it is, so might as well balance it.

The window trap doesn't have to be perfectly placed, you can put it under the window, the victims will not be able to see it and it captures them anyway

Dude did you even watch the video? He literally explains why you wanna place your trap there. Yes, you could place it under the window and it will still trap the victims but it will insta trap and if you have a bone scrap you can instantly escape and run off. It's like a little animation bug, when playing victims i had that soo many times. Yes you trap them but, by the time you get out of the house the victim is long gone. With this trap though when victim jumps out they have to go through the whole animation of standing up and only turn they get trapped. So you have plenty of time to catch up. That's the point, you can literally see in the video family members killing victims off in seconds cause they had no chanceto escape the trap in time.

​@@aninibooWell it's very much about risk/reward and situational awareness. You could always look out of the window and check if the trap is there. Or alternatively make a mental note of how many trap have you seen, there can only be a max of 3 traps that Hitchy can place, so if they are all on the inside you know for a fact that a window jump is safe-ish. But unless you are running stunt double you gonna take heavy damage. Harsh and fast plays often result in deaths, you just need to re-evaluate your play style. Remember it is a horror game about murderous cannibals, it makes sense that they are gonna hurt when they hit you and if you are caught in the open, you are very likely going to die. If you are just running blindly and jumping out the window well it's a risk you are taking and should be prepared to face the consequences. There is definitely a lot of stuff that needs rework and change for sure, like in the past for instance you used to be able to trap the top of the ladders which is ridiculous, cause there is no counterplay, hence they removed that function all together.

Personally i think the disarming speed should be slightly reduced (pretty much like bone scraps) and bone scraps have a slight increase, since they are limited and are also used for defensive/offensive purposes.

How are you having a rough time with Hitch? Traps are really strong and provide a lot of information. If they break you immediately know where someone is or has been with family instinct, and if they’re caught they can do a crap load of damage. Not to mention when people are pressured thats when they typically run into them. Double traps are also insane, because without bomb squad it requires using both inventory slots just to remove to make progress, the main time you see this is in Hands, Hitch, Cook comps. Beyond that, Nancy doesn’t have much of a bad time either, using bomb squad on her barbwire is usually not useful unless its required to pass an area, and with pins and needles she could already have like 5-8 barbwire on the map anyways lol. I do wish she could place traps faster though. Sorry if this is kinda brash or something, I just personally think that Family is in a good spot right now and that we shouldn’t really complain a lot. Although rush downs can be kinda rough.
