for what it's worth i think the newly translated "an apprenticeship or the book of pleasures" is definitely lispector's most accessible novel, and as amazing as anything else she's written!

I miss your vlogs!! And wrap ups!! And Lispector is insane, I recommend her collection of short stories!

if you want to go through the very quintessential thick of it for Lispector, i say do it for the roach and read The Passion According to GH. if anyone can only afford one Lispector in their life, it's that one. but if that's too intimidating, Agua Viva is fantastic, but i say save it for when you feel you're entering some kind of threshold in your life. hope this helps!

You’ve reminded me how much I want to read The Heart… and of course haven’t. But now you’ve reminded me I must. Same with French Exit. Note on a bookish note but THOSE NAILS, love them. and that feline cushion in the background.

"woah she be writing" and "I don't understand what this book was about" are honestly perfect reactions to hour of the star -- lispector gets easier to understand the more you read her but always remains a little overwhelming in the best of ways. I second nathan's rec of reading passion according to g.h.

Yay a new CJ vid!! Loved this catchup ❤ oo a new eula biss is always worth a gander. I have a feeling whenever I read lispector i too will convulse and shout “whoa, this is Writing!” The rachel incident is on my library hold! It’s the cover painting that did it, but im glad there’s more beyond 😅 Retail is wild indeed, emotional and financial ups and downs. Every slow period you gotta work your brain how to drum up more sales whether it’s new promo/flash sales or just straight up calling ppl to say Hey! You Want This, Right?!! 🥲
