At some point, the Sims 4 devs stopped bothering to create new whims so they're limited and somewhat randomly based on what a given pack offered (including new items), plus unfortunately some of the whims are broken and have never been fixed. The Sim's age and to some extent their personality, skills, and relationships impact their options but it's a lot less customized and tailored towards making your Sim live their dreams than the wishes of Sims 2 and Sims 3.

My favorite way to play Sims 2 has always been to drop a Fortune sim in an empty lot with a box house and basically just follow their wants to the letter. They don't get a bed or a couch or anything until they want to buy one. Sometimes they get a dishwasher before they get a bed. It goes especially well when they don't want a job right away, or the first job they want doesn't come up for several days.

When I was in college I was working in restaurant where the servers had to wear 50s themed costumes. Every year the town would have a pub crawl scavenger hunt where you would have to take pictures with different types of people. Every year us servers made the list, stupid costumes. Very strange to have groups of drunk strangers running into your restaurant to take your picture. Mortimer, Victor and Bjorn I feel your pain 😂🤣

this was fun! you could do a series of these using a random number generator for the create a story. This one had a lot of "become angry" because of the mean aspiration, and then your photography scavenger hunt started when he took a photo with beuan to become friends faster. Those whim loops from skills and traits will be different for each sim.

Want to get something you can't afford or don't own, such as a bike, James? Shift click on the item and select "Set as Head", go to your lot and reset your sim, then drag the item to your inventory and bam, you got a free bike. I literally had to do this with *HOMEWORK* of all things, better that than buying a new Homework book tbh, especially if it's a Rags to Riches save or if you don't have enough money in the game and don't want to use cheats

i believe when whims tell u to take a photo with someone, its usually suggesting someone in the area. If you open your phone and select 'Take photo with...' the pop-up menu would have random sims who are near you, like Victor, he was probably already in the area.

This is how I always played Sims 3. The wants related far more to the Sims personalities though, which is why I did it along with letting them choose their actions. Somehow I ended up with couples that took every opportunity to get it on. I had a lovely family, wife was a fairy, human husband at their toddler’s birthday party. She held the kid up to blow out the candles, their eyes met, and she put the toddler down to age up unsupervised while she and hubby went off to make kiddo number 3. Didn’t seem to matter which mix of genders, occults, whatever. They all opted for a solid, loving, LOVING, relationship. Surprised me with it being autonomous, but also kinda sweet.

You can also lock the door and Vampires can't get in that way. That works for front doors or you could do it as simple as the bedroom door where your Sims are sleeping. I knew the front door lock works but I was curious to see what would happen if I left the front door unlocked and locked the bedroom door (I set it for household members only) where my two sims were sleeping. Vlad got into my living room but couldn't make it inside the bedroom so he just stood there for an hour being creepy and then left. This happened in my save last night. No bitten Sims.
