Tru - Tru 2 Da Game & Master P - Ghetto D both came out in "97"!!!!!!! That was a Big Year!!!!!! When C-Murder dropped "Life or Death" in "98" I promise I kept that on repeat in my Dodge Intrepid!!!!!!!
@Keep_rising_to_top2 сағат бұрын
Also Mia-X Unladylike and I'm Bout it Soundtrack came out as well in the summer of 97.
@fratbronation2 сағат бұрын
This started in 96 though with ice cream man, sillk the shocker, and tru 2 da game. Mia x and im bout it was 97, with c murder and sillk charge it to the game, serv on, and about 20 other cds that all went at least gold but most went platinum. We got the dates messed up but we listened to that ish. 😂 it was almost 30 years ago. And master P was dropping 2 cds a month. And both was fire.
@Keep_rising_to_topСағат бұрын
@fratbronation Actually you're wrong. Here's the tapes that No Limit dropped in 95: 99 Ways to die ( P solo), Ice cream man (P solo) , TRU - True, Tre-8 Ghetto stories, Mia - X Good girl gone bad and Down south Hustlers - Bouncing and Swinging. In 96: Slikk - The Shocker, Kane and Abel - 7 Deadly sins and Skull Duggery. 97: TRU- True to the game, Mr. Serv - On - Life Insurance, West Coast Bad Boyz, Mystikal - Unpredictable, Mia- X Unladylike, P - Ghetto Dope, I'm Bout it Soundtrack and Movie, Steady Mobbin ( I forgot their album name). That closed out 95 thru 97.

This man gave Eddie Griffin a million dollars to get his career going and he’s helped a lot of other as well. He just didn’t go on and say what he does, he sees talent and that’s why he helped so many. He’s mature enough to avoid any drama and people interviewing him trying to cause drama and gossip is high school 💩

It was stated, back in the nineties, that when after Master P, created the first 'Bout it Bout it movie & song, he was confonted by one or two of the Wu-Tang members. It was stated that Rza, Ghostface or another associate, either punched or slapped Mr. P, after asking him was he really bout it bout it. Maybe, that's what Math Hoffa, was referring to early on.

I remember that leaked LL and Canibus phone conversation from '98, L basically admitted it was Def Jam (Lyor) trying to tap into that southern market that brought about that Master P feature on "4,3,2,1"--he wasn't really feeling the decision from a musical standpoint. It worked out though, because Master P spat one of his most memorable verses.

He ain't lyin bout folk listening to the south in NYC. At 19, I moved to Bay Ridge Brooklyn with my sister and her husband at the time from Kentucky back in 1998. I brought all my CDs with me, and I was tryin to record tapes off Hot 97 to send home to my fam back then, but ERRY"BODY I knew up there only wanted to hear my shit. I'm a fan of hip hop from all regions in the U.S. and I wanted to hear the straight NYC shit but they was really feeling No Limit, Cash Money, 8ball & MJ and UGK. It was a dope moment for a country boy back then. My CD's and my country accent even got ya boy a few fwb up there 🤣

He's trying to be polite, but people were clowning that music. Much respect to Master P as a businessman, hustler, entrepreneur, etc., but No Limit was the main reason people were disrespecting the South's hip hop contributions. Outkast and the Dungeon Family had to overcome all that bias because the 100+ rap albums that kept coming out of Master P and them...cmon now Math!
