The natural hair community has not collapsed. The people trying to collapse it were the ones dabbling and never invested in long term. They were the original naysayers and haters.

Extremely well said. This world wants us broken and beaten down, and many of us are doing a great job of helping them out. We are a set apart people, but yet we try so hard to be like the rest. Self love is the greatest love. And if you are showing hatred and negativity towards your hair, guess what- it won’t grow!!!

"This world wants us broken and beaten down?" Why always seek validation from other people? No need to bring the world into this. We need to stop letting the world get to us and find contentment in ourselves. Because that is all that matters. You must never ask for permission to exist as God created you. You are the image of God's creation. All the others are mutations away from the original image.

I feel for the woman who does not like her hair. I understand how she feels. Everything in this society praises a particular esthetics. EVEN US!! you can be natural, but you better have good hair, excuse me, I mean 3B. And if you are a 4B, it better be long. Now add skin complexion and featurism on top of that; and I see where she's coming from. MEN like to pretend they like naturals, but they only like certain kinds. Be kind to ole gurl.

It's really sad Sis, the world needs help. We are too hateful to each other and it gets to some people more than other sometimes. I understand her but all I want is for her to love herself enough to not care because for us to thrive and be the best version of ourselves we must accept who we are and what we have...as hard as it is, we have to.

Hello! I understand her! I'm from Venezuela, my type of hair is 4bc. It is difficult when other said bad things about about natural hair. But it is no good when we don't accept it ... I start loving may hair since 2012. Thanks to some afro woman that teach me some techniques to brush, clean and care my type of hair.

You are not powerless in this situation. You can choose to love all of you and block out the MEN who pretend to like naturals. Stop seeking validation from those who reject you. The world has 8 billion people in it. Find your tribe and make everyone else irrelevant. God did not make a mistake when he created us this way. In fact, those of us who have coily hair are the original people created in the TRUE image of God. Everyone else mutated from that. Remember that next time someone tries to make you feel bad.

Wow, what a great message and visual presentation of all of the beautiful natural sisters, all lengths and hair textures, facial features and skin complexions! All of the women are so unique, beautiful, fearfully and wonderfully made by Yah (God)! We Black people have a hard time because too many people in our society, including "some" of our own Black people, perceive beauty only through the eyes of "what we have been told to think" is beautiful and acceptable and that is straight caucasian/asian type hair. "Who are they and who told them that!?" I think all of us naturals can agree that we look just as beautiful with the straight hair as well as our natural hair. But, how refreshing and liberating it is to wear our natural hair as Yah created it, free of chemicals, which is healthier for the body, mind and spirit. I feel I can be my authentic self when I wear my natural hair, versus my straight hair or straight wig. Unfortunately, my husband seems to prefer straighter hair on me, even though he doesn't admit it, he knows better. I just wear my natural hair anyway. Being married for almost 41 years, he is stuck with me! 😅 Thank you for bringing this subject into the light. Prayerfully, you are helping women who do not have the confidence to embrace their natural hair. When wearing natural hair or anything else non-caucasian whether it be ethnic clothing, etc., we just have to go against the flow, the mold, the cookie cutter. Coily Chrissy, you are such an encouragement, inspiration, and a witness! Thank you and please be blessed!

Thank you so much for this! I have a boss at work who thinks I'm not pretty anymore ever since I've been wearing my hair natural. And she's a black female too. This really helped me! 😊😊😊♥️♥️♥️
