Rich Eisen even knows what Jerry's version of All in meant, yet he is still acting like he doesn't. Jerry isn't going to extend any of them this year, he's going to make them play out this year to make them show postseason success, if they do then they get huge extensions, if not he lets them walk. To be clear I think this is insanity and terrible idea. But I'm not surprised Jones is doing what he said he was going to do.

At what point do players price themselves out of being signed by teams that want to win? If Dallas pays Dak, Parsons, and Lamb near top of market, they will have spent roughly half of their allowed budget (cap space) on just those three guys. They still have to pay starters at 19 other positions and another 31 backup players and special teams guys on about the same budget as they just paid those three. The team will be reduced to Dak, Kamb, Parsons, and a pile of spare parts scraped from the bottom of the barrel. We know Dak, Lamb, and Parsons can’t do it alone, or it would have been done already. In fact, the biggest excuse I hear regarding Dak is “he needs a better o line, receivers, running backs, etc, as long we don’t blame Dak”. How much help do you think he’s going to get after these contracts are signed?

coming from a Jets v Bills family I know some dysfunction and the Cowboys are dysfunctioning rn. They will still win a good amount of games rn but even from afar (my best friend is a Cowboys fan and we spoke about this) I don't understand why Jerry loves to wait to pay talent and let the markets continually go up like you don't have NUMEROUS players that need to be worked with on new deals. I retired from Texas and moved to Kansas last year. Still follow and route for the Cowboys. Got to follow the Chiefs for a full year. Mahomes simply refuses to lose. The Chiefs are clearly a better run franchise. They win when needed and Reid is a hell of a coach though I hated him with Philadelphia. No drama with the owner. They just win and will probably have another great year. Cowboys are slipping back into mediocrity because they lack urgency.

Jerry understands that the way to make money as franchise owner is to keep everyone talking about your franchise more than the other ones. Winning Super Bowls is a great way to do that, but it's not the only way.
