Good morning Ms.B. it's 4:30 on Saturday morning and I'm having a cup of tea watching a 'ukulele tutorial. I guess I don't play by the rules of the game. ANYTIME is uku time. I'm trying to find my way along the fretboard. I heard you are a good teacher, you teach ukulele quite nicely. You ask me why I cut my nails, so the points of the fingers touch the strings. When I'm lost, in a song, in the ocean of chords, you say keep trying, just keep trying! I now know my name Call me student of Ms.B. Now I know my name I am a ukulele playing Student of Ms. B. Now I like this game In the world of ukulele we are all winners, good or bad playing we are loved all the same. Now I know my name, a ukulele student of Ms.B. Beautiful way to start the day, if you look to the east you'll see us in North America waving Hi in the sunrise. Can you hear our ukulele's sing?

I just got my ukulele and I already learned how to play riptide so far I’m doing pretty good with strumming but switching notes and singing at the same time 👎not going so well
@BernadetteTeachesMusic5 жыл бұрын
Hi Presley! Wow, you are so fast! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 riptide is not easy! Try this: 1. Play only the chords but think about the words/lyrics in your head 2. Play the chords and hum the song at the same time 3. Play the chords and sing a few words/lyrics 4. Slowly add more words/lyrics to this
@barneyracine56064 жыл бұрын
Riptide is a great song to start out with. I have been doing uke for about 4 years now and I still have it memorized. I haven't played for a while so rn I am learning the more advanced strum patterns... my sister likes to watch old AGT vids and I saw Grace Vanderwaal and was like, "Wait.. I know this song..." Immediately fell in love with her music. Not many popular musicians play uke anymore... I am glad we are still teaching it lol Btw thanks for the tutorial ms. B! Also when I started out I used Elise Ecklund and she helped me a ton. Shout out to her!

You're a great teacher! I've used your video to teach myself the ukulele (I have never played or owned a string instrument before.) I got my ukulele on Sunday evening at like 8 pm as a birthday gift, and today is Thursday evening and I can play through this entire song! I can do it perfectly if I use the downward only strum pattern and can struggle my way through the DDU-UDU strum pattern. I have a harder time during the faster portions with the strum pattern (I get lost transitioning from UDU back to DDU) but my chord progressions and ability to play at all is thanks to you! Love your videos.

I’m having trouble switching to G
@laurenmo43456 жыл бұрын
Madeleine Todd try some hand exercises like put your hand on the previous chord and shake your hand then put it back on the same chord. Do this a couple of times with the previous chord and do it again with the G chord. Now put your fingers on the previous chord and switch to a g as quick as possible. Then shake your hand. And try switching it over and over. I hope this helps!!!

I have problem with strumming patterns :/

Honestly, that's the trickiest part of the song. It is not easy. I recommend you focus on one part of the song before you tackle the next part. So focus only on the beginning today. Tomorrow come back and tackle the next part.

When your singing it sounds like your tying to be quiet and your teeth are always close if that makes sense when your singing try and open your mouth a little more and be louder no offence

Why bother teaching her how to sing ? She bothers to teach us how to play ukulele.
