I'm sighted and I have dysmorphic disorder so I don't really know how I look. My brain translates the image in the mirror in very different ways sometimes. Some days I don't even recognize the face on the mirror. It's never what I expect. Also my body changes and I don't really know if I'm getting fat or if it's my mind. Some disorders are disabling because we can't trust our senses. Vision is one of them.

yesss total anastasia vibes. i think maybe what some people didn't love was maybe how far back the bangs started cause that's just a look a lot of people aren't a fan of, but i think straight across bangs are soo cute on her, even more so if they weren't quite as heavy and had some face framing layers just cause i'm slightly obsessed with that look and think she would rock it ahahha. They must be from someone jealous. And not as compliment, You skin looks beautiful smooth with the fitting black hair and your friendly openly green eyes. And the ace from your face is objecticly attractive. Even as young akeard molly. Couples with your confident personality it looks outstanding. The adult thing likely comes for your mature personality while your age is really hard to guess because you appearently took good care of your skin and look naturally attractive because look in the comment. Regarding the hair, you have a symetric face and eyes and te rest is symetric in place. Not to mention you skin is smooth. So you would be attractive even with an afro a freaky punker haircut and you lokk likely good. And your confidence is attrative, but your facial featuresare undeniable attractive in our society. Everyone who says otherwise just has a different taste or lies. But your current sleeping beauty look suits you.

The way you talked about defining how you look while being blind made me think of how perfume is advertised in magazines and on TV without smell. In perfume ads, it's not about what the perfume smells like, but about the emotions conveyed when you think of it. Here's what you look like to me using that same, vague language. You look like the young, sophisticated girl from Paris who is studying abroad in LA and likes American style makeup. You look like the girl at spin class who everyone is super intimidated to talk to, but who everyone realizes has a heart of gold when she's the first one off her bike to help the person who fell. You look like the transition between summer and fall. You look like you should always have a mug of tea in your hands. You look like you could talk on the phone for hours, lying face down on the couch, legs crossed in the air. You look like the way cinnamon smells. You look like people think you liked high school because you had a lot of friends (which is true), but you also liked it because you learned about all the places you knew you would one day travel. You look like you tried making pottery or baking bread at least once because you thought it looked cool. You look like white wine with bubbles. You look like the only person invited to book club who people want to talk to because she understood the book but isn't going to make some pretentious conclusion about it like everyone else. You look like a room with twinkle lights on and nothing else. You look like the girl who is happy to leave the house with just lipgloss and mascara, but who sometimes wants a little more. You look like your favorite fruit is strawberries. Apologies if that was a little weird, but maybe it helped you realize some of the things I think about when I see you. Because as you said, beauty cannot be described with just adjectives.

As a sighted person I almost accepted the fact that I don't know how I look. Not in the same way of course. But I have a very subjective idea of myself that changes more so with how I'm feeling rather than actual visual changes. I know I pay attention to things others don't, I have no clue how I'm really perceived from the outside. Sometimes I bump into a mirror and it takes me by surprise that it is me in the reflection. Because to me, truly, I am looking from the inside out. In my head I'm not comprised of my looks but of me experiencing the rest of the world outside of me...

She actually has a video where she does her makeup (I think it's called mirrorless makeup or makeup with no mirror ... something like that). I can't remember for sure, but I'd bet in those videos, she mentions the answers to the questions you have. As for clothes, I'm sure it's a combination of feeling things, and then asking a sighted person what color it is (unless you're online shopping and it's written there so it will be read to you) and to help you find your size (that I actually know from her video with Shane bc she literally says "now we have to find a sighted person" when Shane says "Ok - now how do we find my size" while he's wearing a blind fold with her). There's honestly no other way they could know the color (or size for 100% sure) if totally blind or nearly.

@JustThatLauren6 жыл бұрын
I think you would look SO cute with a long bob, but it's totally okay to be afraid to cut your hair though. So many girls are. And others are right, your hair is beautiful, and shiny, and super healthy! However, you can still flaunt that gorgeous hair at different lengths and styles. It most certainly could never make you less beautiful. (P.S. my family would tell me "don't do it"! When my hair was long and wanted to cut it. But I dyed it crazy colors and keep it a bit lower than shoulder length because I'm more comfortable with it that way)
@fiemy68886 жыл бұрын
People also told me not to cut my hair, telling me it was so pretty and long (just beneath the boobs, with wavy curls), but I did anyway, and I recieved SO many compliments, telling me that my face looked much more alive, and more mature and put together. - From some of the same people that told me not to in the first place. Point is, it is really hard to imagine something, and even though things are great one way doesn't mean they cant be great another way (5+5=10 but so does 7+3). In the end, you are the one that has to live in your body
@leopardshadow3336 жыл бұрын
Thats so true! The same people who told me not to cut it or dye it were the people who loved my hair the most when i did change it. That and i never realized how different it would feel all the way to the roots when the ends got cut off, so id say try not to be afraid of a small trim, if you want it, go for it, because the feeling of losing split ends is amazing!

You can see light and shadow so if someone stands in front of a window you see the outline of their body and stuff like that so what if someone draws your face with thick black lines and puts it in front of a window, would you see your portrait?

She doesn’t see someone’s outline, she sees a shadow. It wouldn’t be possible for your idea to work because it requires too much detail. Think of having a white sheet over your head. If you are in front of a window that has light coming through it, you would know if someone passed in front of the window. You would also know if that person was large/tall or small/short based on how much light they blocked. Would you be able to make out details of the person whose shadow you saw, such as hair length? Probably not. If someone held up a drawing to the window, no matter how thick the lines, would you be able to make out the facial features on the drawing? Probably not.

That may sound like a silly question and you/the people reading comments to you might not ever read it to you but... When your brain stops using certain pathways, they get pruned away or redirected. So the pathways in her brain that were used for sight most likely have been pruned and redirected, so it's not just that she forgot it's that they're literally no longer there

I loved your bangs! You have a strong jawline that lots of people would kill for and I think blunt bangs complimented your face shape in a very "fashionable" way. On that same topic, because of your jaw, short hair would also really suit you! Obviously these are my opinions and personal taste though. I'm sure it can be really hard to differentiate what you personally like and what opinions you've internalised from those around you (and on the internet, etc), as a sighted person this was a really interesting video to watch

AND GIRL TRUST ME, I loooooved your bangs. They suited you. It is an opinion. They obviously didn't look like trash if some like them and some don't. Although your hair you can feel is strong and healthy, your hair is not you. It is helpful, and suits you. But it is not who you are Molly. You would look equally as wonderful with shoulder length hair. My hair is about halfway down my back so I prefer long hair but. I never thought your bangs looked childish. Your intelligence is seen immediately when I hear you speak. You are eloquent. Your bangs just suited you in my opinion. Either way you are still pretty.

Everybody dreams even if they don't remember. Dreams are based on memories, all what you dream is taken from your memory, if the person was able to see before he/she got blind then they can dream with images, if the person has never seen before they dream with the environment they know and remember (sounds, feelings, vibrations, smells, etc).

It must be very hard as a mother to know the future for your son. I hope you watch all of Molly's videos. It may make you feel much better knowing that he has a rich full life ahead of him if you make that your belief for him. Understand that he has the potential to have as much as other young people if you make him believe that. I'm not sure where you live and what resources are available but begin learning as much as you can about what is available. Find Molly's Facebook page and see if you can get advice from her mom or resources there that may help you begin your research. I wish you great success in raising your son to be an amazing adult like Molly has become.

I didn't even think about the fact that society thrusting opinions on how girls and women look would be like...multiplied for someone who doesn't get to look at themselves and make their own opinions based on what they see. also I want to say that freckles vary in size but are like...little dots darker than your skin color (often warmer) your freckles are (mostly) very fine like...a mist! I’ve been looking throught the comment trying to find the most accurate description and the ones that came close were not descriptive enough to really explain just how beautiful you are! In this video you look effortlessly beautiful, your skin glows naturally and there are no wrinkles I can see.. I’m 20 and your skin looks as youthful as mine! You’re hair is gorgeous, it’s a deep brown, like a chestnut brown and looks so silky, and you have a very classy look about you. You’re eyes are grey/blue and capture attention because they are not typical almond shaped eyes, they are a bit rounder and give you a bright-eyed appearance. Your nose fits your face and classic beauty perfectly and it’s more pointy (but not pointed) than round and you have an amazing jawline and pretty cheekbones and very faint dimples in your cheeks when you talk! I hoped that helped you visualize yourself even though you didn’t ask for it lol I just had to because you deserve to know how beautiful you are! :)

I'm telling you right now that the way you look in this video is very well put together, and completely beautiful and acceptable in society and I would not lie to a blind girl. I just feel you need to hear that in a way that is with 100 percent honesty. You look awesome and and that hair is on point! As A guy who knows nothing about make up Yours looks very well done. That smile lights up a room and no matter if you are blind or not WE ALL FEEL INSECURE about our looks and all have or security blankets. And your personality brings it up even more. So I want you to rest easy and never let that bother you because although your situation is different. You are not alone in the way you feel and the best looking people feel this way all the time they are just better at hiding it lol and you will never have anything to worry about in the looks department. I am a tourguide and ranger here in South Africa. My most memorable trip of my career was with a family from the Netherlands who brought their granddad with. He was blind and needed someone to eplain a few things to him constantly. Small things like smelling rain approaching before the rest of us could see it and smelling an elephant before we could see it was amazing to me. I tried my best to make this his most amazing trip by focusing on the other factors life presents to us. I gave him wild sage and other herbs to smell. Picked up dried elephant dung and have him feel and smell it. Stopped the safari truck in the middle of the night and switched off all the lights so the rest of us can perceive just a tiny bit of what he goes through every day. The stars were unfortunately too bright, but the sounds were deafening! Nature becomes so loud when your other senses are switched off. I picked up wild fruits for him to taste, and the flavours he described back to me and what he compared them with were amazing and so accurate. It was such an emotional experience for both of us at the end of the day and I must confess that we both shed a few tears when we said our goodbyes at the airport. I can not even imagine what you feel, or how you perceive yourself. All I know is that the way I perceive you Molly is you are great! You are kind. You motivate, inspire and push me to be a better me when I see your videos. I think as a sighted person your appearance to me is does not count because of what you mean to me and I think society should rather be focused on looking at that. But like you said, it doesn't. You are pretty by the way and freckles are cute little fairy footprints only left on the faces of the nicest people. Love your channel. Big fan from South Africa. Let me know of you ever want to go on a Safari with me. 😉
