jeeez this song still give me goosebumps bring tears to my eyes remembering back in the 80's as a black girl growing up in the UK jamming/whining to the tune at wedding,birthday parties and even at home on a sunday afternoon for sure it was hit for all west indians parents in UK xx

where i live, most of the old fellas from up the islands and home in Trinidad play these sounds from this time whiles sitting in their gallary and having some good drinks, i enjoy these sounds and play them on weekends home at me, LOAD!!!! I JUST DON'T DO THE DRINKING. lol!!!

I hav a recording of Desperadoes Steel Orch playing this song. They did a colourful version of the original. It reminded me of what a great song this is. This was one of the first songs to go at least 3 labor days straight in Brooklyn. Thank you Mr SoSo.

I recall working in a hotel back in Tegucigalpha. Receptionist was my job. A female friend from Roatan or Guanaja would frequently visit me at the hotel. She always sung this song to me with such a big smile on her face. I must admit it went over my head. I didn't realize what she was saying to me until quite a few years later after I had moved to NYC. That is one that got away.
