Except, she kept avoiding it. Multiple times. Even when they got together, she avoided it. Plus, except for that one time, she didnt do much to actually do something about it. Just as the person above said, she pretended it was, but it wasnt. Her goal was to get into Princeton, but before all that, to live her life and appreciate the smaller things in life. And you can especially see that in her and her psychologist's last scene
