Life abroad is like the proverbial grass that look green from afar but no sooner than you get there and you realize the empty patches. In Italy, we fought the language barriers, the discrimination and the harsh climate. These are the dry patches and it's only if you are strong enough you overcome. Am here for 14 years and can't complain.

Was in Italy in the late 90s...as a tourist those days no Visa was required for Kenyans travelling there and was there for 6 months was hosted by an Aunt who still lives there to this day...stayed in the Northern part of Italy the Trento/Rovereto area...it was nice but the language barrier was a big problem and racism...although for the most part I found some Italians to be warm and friendly...would love to visit again someday when this Rona goes away and when some normalcy prevails.

If you leave Kenya without "making it" it is also highly likely you will not make it overseas. It is a state of mind and not dependent on geographic region. A successful person and not just financial but in many other ways that money cannot buy will always be a successful person wherever they end up; China, Asia, US you name it. People equate travelling overseas to "making it". It is just the beginning. It is tough overseas, it is tough in Kenya. Just choose where you plan to execute your game plan and execute it.

I came to usa 🇺🇸on 2017, hosted by my uncle who was so friendly when I was still in kenya but guess what, after I got my greencard and stayed with them for 5months I almost lost my soul, I had to ran away from them,they even thought iwont make it, later on I had to move out, I slept in my car for 2 weeks, the car had no A/C, but 4yrs down the line, I have best cars than them, having good life and I forgave them for what I did.its not a joke it's crazy. @@catalinaparis9271 What I have learnt from most people who've gone to the states is that you have to go back to school there in order to get professional jobs. For example, a maths teacher from a private school in Kenya got a green card and went to the states. When he reached there, he found he could only work as a security guard - he thought he would teach maths in the USA and earn thousands of dollars. He also said Kenyans don't tell each other the truth and they tell you to work those odd jobs, instead of encouraging you to go back to school and get USA qualifications... He researched and found that he had to get qualified - and qualified means a USA degree/education in addition to his Kenyan education and decades of work experience as a maths teacher. He, therefore, signed up for an online degree or something like that. And after graduation, now got a job in a high school teaching mathematics. I think his story is on LynnNgugi's channel or similar. So there's the catch - in addition to your education and work experience, you have to get a USA qualification - and that means their education and licencing. At least that is what I have deduced from many of these episodes. But, I have never gone to the USA and so I am just blubbering here. I could be very very very wrong in my suppossitions.

I’m thankful God gave me a chance to be here in the States! It has definitely helped me not only to change my life but also those of my family. It’s devastating how pple try to portray places so bad when things don’t work out for them. I moved here at only 18 right after my high school. Despite challenges at the beginning, God helped me get through it. Through hard work and help from my ever loving God, I was accorded a full scholarship. Where in Kenya scholarships are offered??? Life in the US is not for everyone. First of all there's paid parking at the airport where you park, find a restaurant, or place to wait for your loved one. You don't have to work two jobs. Germany is worse coz you start by learning their language, and it's the first thing I did within the first few months, then with all the challenges, I did a fach assistance course in nursing and for 2 years now I have been working as one . Here taxes are very high and many prefer "working under the carpet " to avoid paying taxes. I choose to go the regal way coz I felt and still feel it's good to also give back to the government for paying for my course. Hapa if you are jobless the government pays for your housing and give you maintenance money so many prefer " black jobs " which I also did earlier...but I don't regret doing it the legal way.

I moved from dishwasher to a team lead in a federal government (dep of Veterans affairs) as psychiatric provider where 99 %of my team are aphd holders. Work only one job, have properties in kenya and so on. Moral of the story, go for your dreams wherever they lead you, take risks, align yourself with good people, believe in God, follow the laws, and remember your parents/your people.

Am in the USA and i dont regret. You just need to be focused with your goals and what you want. I have one job single with one income ,two kids and i manage very good,and paying my all bills. Go to school upgrade yourself the rest will follow. It again depends with what kind of papers you have.

I will have to say this. And Kindly read. As much as you may hate US, this country trains you to be dependent. I agree you have to work hard. But it is how we achieve. Maybe you would not have a chance to even get that simple interview, if u had not gone to US. Success is not just on tangible stuff. But the exposure, experience, problem solving skills and the fact that u get some advantage on top of others. Been in US for 6 yrs, i do visit often, i may not have plots or cars, but my mind has that potential of building an empire. All what matters is what you keep in your mind and utilize.

This is my story . I Left him with kids and left for states. It took me three years to come back home. Husband moved on, he left the kids time ya corona , None of my relatives cared but they loved the money I used to send them lol, I used to bembeleza them to go see my kids , i send them fare but they didn't lol. I raised my kids on whatsapp videos , I took my daughter to school k kwa simu coz nobody was there, I ongad baby daddy ndio anisaidie ata kupeleka mtoto hospitali, my kids were depressed and all that. Anyway the ninja moved on and am happy for him, am now back home and happy with my kids. Mungu ni mwema. Hakuna pendo kama la Mama.
