I feel like if he's lying, he wouldn't have maintained communication with the Goddess team up until the sealing of Ark was finished. A cold corporate scoundrel would have stopped communicating the moment the last assignment was completed, and only calls you back at the moment of truth. Instead he kept the communication online throughout the one month period between the last of the three assignments and the completion of Ark sealing (he was shown reading a recipe for the Goddess team when they're trying to cook the meat they procured). Here, he is shown that he's following order (asking for tickets to enter Ark) and is pretty level headed (questioning RH intent to help the refugee when their vehicle is not equipped for combat and RH herself wasn't seemingly in a condition to fight). But is still capable of kindness. It's honestly still within his character, what he did during the event of Overzone. Except this time he didn't have someone like RH to show him that there is another possibility. Albeit perhaps the delivery of the dialogue may change the context.

​@@spearsageI think it's more likely that Oswald lied to both the CG *and* Goddess squad to keep his heroes safe. Red Ash made it abundantly clear that he really looked up to them. He knew all of their achievements from memory and was considering dropping his cargo to offset Red's weight. Considering this was during the apocalypse, that likely would have gotten him into hot water. My prediction is he told CG that Goddess squad went AWOL, then lied to Dorothy and said they were barred from entering the Ark. Because it makes no sense for the CG to want to keep them out - to this day, no Nikke have managed to match Goddess squad in terms of sheer power. When Scarlet visits the commander at the Outpost and CG find out, they mobilize a strike team to capture her - if they were considered disposable they would have simply killed her. We've seen that they want to experiment and dissect Marian. It isn't too farfetched to assume that they would want to do the same to Goddess squad given the chance.

I'm getting a feeling that Oswald isn't as bad as he seemed to be in Overzone. This potrays him to be a genuine person, being that he's a fan of the goddess squad and was even considering ditching some of the supplies in order to make room for red hood. I don't know, maybe he abandoned them, because he was forced to by the central government and he couldn't reveal it to the rest of the squad. Not 100% sure though.

This makes Dorothy's Revenge even more painfull. I do Believe that This guy is the one that creates a Religiom based off of Goddess of Victory (it was stated in chapter 23 or so) and theres also a theory that since they're a Prototype and Seeing Red Hood refused to go to the Ark herself,HAD they returned to the ark,they would be dismantled and their programs would be uploaded into newer Generation,i do believe He himself Knew that and got screwed over himself.

In overzone he genuinely doesn't sound like he wanted to kick the goddess out, sounds like hes being forced, there was no happiness whatsoever in his voice when he rejected Dorothy and the other to enter the ark

Hes never evil in Overzone event. Is that like evil on other side (Goddess Squad) but good on other side (Humanity). How you sealing the Ark at that time if no one willing sacrifice themselves from the outside Also, blame the government like irl 👍

I really belive he was genue here but there are likely important events between red ash and overzone that might had caused him to change or to make that decision. I mean red hood did make it to the ark in the end... Oswald might even closed the godesses out in order to protect them. An other point is... well Dorothy's messages are ominus from a certain point of view. She is asking to go inside and be treated like a goddess when resorses are limited, I mean sure leaving them out was a shity thing to do but it would likely make everything worse.

so there's a possibility that he may have been forced to cut off all communications to Goddess Squad, which makes this heartbreaking. did he really just cut them off? or did he cut them off because of orders? or did he cut them off because he didn't want them to come back because of the Ark? the fact that Dorothy may have potentially misunderstood the situation is very much there, but who knows?

Idk if i can soften up for i am heavily disagrees with "Sacrifice for greater good" Goddess being abandoned wasn't even a selfless act. It's like that FNAF2 ending where it says "Good, *NOW GET OUT* !" I still believe Dorothy have every right to be angry. Orders from higher-ups or not, Oswald/Ark will always be held accountable for her.

I don't think it will ever happened. I don't know if you already reached Chapter 23 or not, but in that chapter, Poli tell the story to Dorothy, about a man who spread the Gospel about Goddess Squad. That man is no longer exist, but we guess that man is indeed Oswald. So yeah, Oswald was already died years ago, but at least he kept his promised, to spreading the achievement of The Goddess Squad, no matter how Central Government want to hide those facts.

Oswald is kind of cool even if he’s just a human, I’m not sure why I think so but I like how in the story of Overzoned he was seen as the bad guy, betraying the Goddess squad, using them for the advantage of the central government, and stuff. but now he is shown as kind of the good guy in Red Ash helping a member of the Goddess Squad, praising and complimenting them, and saluting Red Hood before saying goodbye
