Disco Elysium AND Jeffiot. 2 of my favourite things + 5 hours of it
@Maybe_Logic15 сағат бұрын
I played Disco Elysium in 2023, and have thought about it every single day, since. Every single day. Something comes to mind that reminds me of the story, Harry, Kim, the sociopolitical situations, the history of Revachol, the pale, etc. This is truly the most remarkable piece of art I have ever engaged with. I find myself getting emotional to the point of tears when reflecting on certain elements of the story AND my own experience playing it. I'd call this one of, if not, THE most important game ever made. It changed me. And, if you're considering playing, it can change you too. Who knew games could change us so significantly.

What's crazy is this isn't glazing If I hadn't played the game and I saw your comment, I would have assumed your head was just so far up your own ass, but you're not even exaggerating. What's nice is the game gatekeeps itself from shitty fandom, but also it's such a hard sell it's such a hard game to recommend.

That story about the woman you met by chance was... raw but I felt a connection there. I haven't been in a situation as extreme, but certainly in similar ones. I would not have expected her to react negatively to you stating that you knew the person who did it. You talking about the people you used to know ending up in jail was still very fresh in my mind... Life is very much crazy like that. I guess that is what I love most about this game. The interactions of Harry's inner mind is amazing. The world is endearing. The characters are wonderful. But what I really love about this game are the details of human lives that you brush against everywhere. It makes the world feel alive and relatable. And, in a weird way, your videos do the same :)
@CosmicNyan6 сағат бұрын
I once heard Red from Overly Sarcastic Productions describe publishing a large project like this as "tearing your heart out and submitting it for peer review." you passed the peer review ✅ You did a great job describing what makes this game so important to so many people, and most importantly, what makes it important to you. This is much more than just an overview of the game, and it's fantastic.
@Cinnamowo59 минут бұрын
Seeing my friend recently fully play this game for the first time was definitely unique. He was probably the only person I've seen with full page of completed thoughts, and just shit ton of skill points. He pulled of insane skill checks with 8% multiple times, and almost failed that god damn Kim 97% authority check (both of them even). And most importantly, he quickly changed how he played this game, from trying a lot of really dumb answers, to actually trying to be a proper detective who wants to change Recommending everyone to give Shivers a try will never be not entertaining. That, and Spirito and Encyclopedia. Just constant stream of exposition, and a really fucking well written one that is Incredible game, I hope one day Zaum will be whole again :(

2:42:30 for what it's worth, the pale latitude compressor is almost exactly the OPPOSITE of how you explained it: in its intended use case, it is supposed to help with travel through the pale by trying to carve a sort of metaphysical 'path' through it using an intentional, directed stream of data as opposed to whatever is happening out there in the pale. used as un-intended, it's more or less a directed energy weapon doing something like blasting you with every possible radio station at once at max volume while gently microwaving your brain

You can hear about this in the Argo Tuulik interview at The 41st Precinct's channel.
