Tony (Larry Hagman) has the brilliant idea to buy 'Arabian Nights' for Jeannie (Barbara Eden), hoping that it will help her control her powers.
From Season 2 Episode 8 'How to Be a Genie in 10 Easy Lessons' - Roger convinces Tony that "The Tales of the Arabian Nights" would be a good manual on how a genie should act to his master. Tony tells Jeannie to read it, but Roger didn't let him know that it was about stories of genies who torture their masters.

The previous scene had Jeannie trying to operate a modern washing machine. She puts the clothes in- oblivious to the fact that it isn't plugged in- and blinks. Instantly, Tony's shirts float out of the washer, clean AND professionally folded. She observes, "These washing machines are TRULY miracles!". 😃

Obviously, Tony has never read THIS version of the "Arabian Nights". There have been many variations published over the centuries, but this particular version- apparently adapted by an enterprising writer named Sidney Sheldon- featured stories on how genies are expected to torture their masters. Poor Tony......and poor Roger.
