Ok first of all let me just say that I am a 14 year old with a healthy living father. But this song makes me cry every time I listen to it. It makes me cry because it makes me think of what it will be like without my dad around anymore. I cry and just say to myself "I don't want the day to come" but as I'm saying that i know that the day will come and it's destined to happen, so from this point on I pledge to make every moment with him the best, I love you dad, a.k.a. The greatest man that ever lived. Thanks for reading if you made it to here.

My brother died in September of 2019 9-10-19... he committed suicide... I got a truck that reminded me of him. It has his favorite cuss word keyed into it😉😂. Fu fu fu three times on that emerald green 02 Tahoe. It’s damaged like me and him. It just feels like he’s there with me forever when I drive it.... I miss him so much. He was my best friend. Born 2 years and 3 months after me and me being the third person to hold him... I love him still and I always will. He was my first baby brother, and he lives on forever... I’m just gonna wait for the day that I see him again... til then, I’ll just sit here with a broken heart and miss you, but I’ll stay strong for my family... I gotta live bubba. Rest In Peace Gabriel. Now you’re my guardian angel up there with Grams.

This song came out when my hubby was in the hospital. I was driving his truck the first time I heard this song, and at that point I new my husband was going to die. This song still gives me that special feeling of knowing what was to come and prepare myself for that day as if you can really prepare. A DJ here, Greg Lane knows me and after my husband passed he would play this song and say something that I knew he was playing it for me. It's been 5 years and this song still touches my heart and gets me through though times. I thank Lee Brice with all my heart for writing this song when he did. It has different meanings and feelings we all have from the people we lost.

Ridding his motorcycle in California , my other uncle Jermiy his older brother along with the whole family gathered at nanas (their moms) house, Jermiy was playing this song on his guitar, and as he went to finish the smoke alarm went off. There was nothing that triggered it to go off but my uncle josh ❤️ Rest in peace. I love you ❤️

The one thing that makes me laugh still to this day is when you told us you were going to be deployed to fight pirates and for some reason I pictured you looking like Jack Sparrow. Don't ask me why I got that mental image but I will never forget how hard you laughed at me when I told you that. The Navy lost a good man and the world lost a great friend. Nobody's probably gonna see this but this song makes me think when I was young and my grandpa would take me for rides in his truck all the time, we would always go get lunch and then after go to the park and go for a walk, on the was back at the beginning of the dirt road I'd ask to get the mail and then we would go back to his house, we would sit in his truck and drink root beer and afterwards help grandma with dinner, me and him were so close 9 years ago and now I don't see him much and we don't talk much but last month we found out he had to have emergency open heart surgery and if he didn't get it the next day he was going to die. Luckily he made it out ok and is recovering but as soon as he's feeling better we are gonna do what we used to 9 years ago and I'm gonna make sure I spent as much time with my grandparents as I can before they are gone. And whenever someone asks me what my dream vehicle is I tell them it's my grandpa's 1998 GMC and I want it just the way he had it, tools in the back, newspaper on the dash, broken drives side door handle and the same old worn out seats along with the same old dents and scratches that it had when he drove it last. I can't imagine life without my grandpa and I hope he never sells that truck bc its really special to me. I'm really sorry for anyone who has lost a loved one in your life and if you are currently in the military or have served, thank you so much for your service and I know this amazing country we live in would never be the same without you. ❤ 🇺🇸

I'm 60 years old. Through circumstances out of my control, I raised my step grandson. I fell in love with him when he was born and I raised him as my son. He's 5 years old now and is with my step daughter now. My step daughter has forgotten how much he and my grandson means to each other. She has taken advantage of for granted how close we are. I can't change that. But my little grandson means the world to me. I have a '61 Fordf100 that belongs to him.

My brother passed away a couple months ago, he wasn't military nor did he leave me his truck but he loved this old black Ranger I've had for a couple years, he loved it because it reminded him of our dad's last truck. (a '91 S10) I consider it close enough to his seeing as he tried stealing it a couple times for a joy ride. I still drive that truck daily with a fishing lure hanging from my sun visor in his honor as that was his hobby, and yes I've played this many times and cried countless times behind the wheel since. I miss you Ben, but I know you'll be waiting for me when the time comes, and I can't wait for that day

This song was written from a guy who got on the radio and was telling the station how his brother had died in the army and how he still drives his truck when he misses him. A lady who was listening to this station pulled over on the side of the road and starting writing down the story to turn it into a song. Later after the song became popular, one of his friends showed him this song and he couldnt finish listening to it because he got so emotional.

This song can be about what ever you want it to be about. Thats what makes music so good. This isn't a movie or some stupid play, its good ol' country

My uncle passed away a few years ago. He was everything to me my father, my uncle, my best friend, he meant everything. When my dad wouldn't be there, he would, my uncle taught me so much. He passed from cirrhosis of the liver in 07'. Among the things left of his I have is his truck, I drive it whenever I can but my sister is driving it, she's tearing it up too, all speakers blown, body damaged, door barely held on, but I still drive it, because when im in it I feel like he's near.

I can really relate to this song because my great-grandpa was a world war 2 army survivor and just passed a couple of weeks ago and we actually bought his van yesterday. T this song still makes me cry along with if heaven wasn't so far away. 1925-2016 I love you great-grandpa and always will.❤❤❤❤😭

Whenever i am sad about someone in my life that has passed away i listen to this song and yes it makes me cry. But it reminds me off all the good times that we had together and how much they mean to me. This song is so beautiful and so amazing i listen this song every night before i go to bed and whenever i get a chance. When i am driving in the car and sense its getting warmer and this song comes on i crank up the radio and roll the windows down. (:

My dad had an '85 Jimmy he bought brand new and drove until the day he passed in 2015. It was HIM. This song came on as soon as I got in my truck after signing DNR and hospice papers. 😭
