Literally like 5 minutes ago I had to poop really bad only to come to the bathroom and see my toilet is stopped up. Me being me, I don't have a plunger. So I had to use the toilet brush to unclog the toilet. The water was risen to the top of the bowl and I splashed toilet water amongst other things everywhere. Worst breakdown ever.

I helped my dad swap a big block Chevy into his Chevelle, and the first time we took it out we overheated BAD. We had the wrong temp sensor for the motor, so the temp gauge didn't work. We were driving in this car and as we're going you can feel the heat start to seep through the firewall, and we don't think much of it till the AC also started to just blow hot air when we remembered to recharge it before we left, so we thought the condenser was just bad or something so we pull into a gas station to take a look, and when we pop the hood the headers were glowing! Thankfully we didn't BBQ that engine too bad, we only had to replace a couple parts on it before we could drive it again safely I think it was just some heat wrap for the headers a clutch fan to help out the electric ones and obviously a temp sensor and it was ready to go again.

How about a story of no return in my Subaru Legacy GT Limited 2001? The car that refused to let me get stuck anywhere. Driving in Rural Ontario in the winter, new to the particular area and exploring, I turn down a road GPS suggested. As I turn down the dirt road I notice it's one car wide and I pass a sign that says "No Winter Maintenance"... we are plowing the snow with the bumper of the car, but it seems ok so I keep going - there really isn't an option unless I want to reverse out anyway. After a short while the snow gets so deep it is going *over the windshield*, I have the wipers on but not helping, in 3rd gear and the back end stepped out. We are on a farm access road - no houses or anything around! My fiancée nervously says "If we die, I love you!"... and then we get to the end of the road... Except it's a 10+ft wall of snow built up by snow plows from clearing the actual roads normal people drive... with no turning back, I conjure up memories of Dukes of Hazzard and figure 60kph is the right speed to hit the wall of snow. We burst through to the other side, and the road is clear. There is a stop sign and I calmly come to a stop, indicate my turn signal and join regular people on a normal plowed & paved road.

So 2 years ago my mom got a 2016 GMC Acadia used with about 25k miles. And as we always do with our new cars. We drove it from Philly to Florida for our yearly vacation. On the way back in South Carolina the trans went on 95 and left us stranded. We coasted to the nearest town 1 mile away that ended up having a Chevy dealership

I daily a 85 honda prelude and one day someone was tailgating me hard, so I took a hard turn at the intersection and immediately starts to bog from flooding. I barely limped it home and long story short single-handedly disconnected like 100 vacuum lines and got the carbs out so the carburetor shop could fix the broken float. Even the old guy there was shocked that they could find a replacement, and has been running perfectly since

I drive a '93 Civic with a Type-R swap. Just rebuilt the entire front half (Internals, trans, coil-overs, CVs, C Arms, Ball joints, rack, etc.) Was going to go get emissions done during my lunch break, but it snowed the night before and the entire of that day. Pulled out of work with no worries, then hit an ice block, thinking nothing of it, kept driving... then tried to turn right... the "new" ball joint split in half and popped out, resulting in a high center with no clearance for me to jack, push, or really do anything without a flatbed. The next 5 hours waiting for a tow truck were pure hell. Got splashed with ice, slush, mag, and whatever else... THE WORST PART WAS I HALF WAY IN AN INTERSECTION ON A MAIN ROAD with a white car in a white out snow storm. Luckily I have great friends in the car game, and was able to have someone who owns a tow company, come and rescue me, and another friend who had a couple traffic cones to help a bit to block off my car. I am still working on rebuilding it, but wish me luck! Hope you can review it some time!!!

I bought a WRX 6 years ago. I had it maybe 2 days and I had a friend behind me on a curvy road in WNC. We got to a straight and I laid into the throttle and in 4th gear the car Jerks real hard and starts to missfire. I had to limp it home 45 minutes on 3 cylinders. It was a blow coil pack on cylinder 4. Later on I did a launch in the car and pushed the rod through the clutch fork. Acted like a blown clutch so I limped it home and ordered a stage 2 southbend clutch kit. Found out when we pulled the transmission the rod that pushes the clutch fork went all the way through it. We fabbed up a new fork and it's still in the car I did put the new clutch in and it's still in the car to this day. Now it's getting a built motor with 2.5 block and 207 big port heads. Hoping to compete in some road racing next year.

Had a really old isuzu suv back in 2012, parked at a friend's apartment to pick him up to go to our college graduation ceremony rehersal. As i was sitting there idle, the engine just shut off, no warning, no reving, fuel was full. We called a taxi and i had to come back to it the next day. Turns out, it had a control valve for the fuel that broke and thats why it just died lol. That car was sold, but i know its still running solid today

Proud owner of a DA Integra GS 5spd b18a1, last summer I spun two rod bearings, it was raining out and I feel the loss of power , I go to pull into this gas station , push the clutch it and the motor stalls immediately. It was locked up completely. I bought the car in 2015 from it's second owner running with issues, it always made this squealing noise on start up until I blipped the throttle....🤣, Drive it daily for about 4 1/2 years , the car was super original from factory , I replaced every relay, switch, bulb, sensor, fluid, I'm finally at the stage where the engine is fully rebuilt with all new components and ready to primed and started up. 🙏🧠🧠🔥💯❤️

I blew a rod through the oil pan on my 87 civic sedan in Seattle on the freeway and stopped at the next exit to get it towed home but I didn't have towing coverage on my insurance so I had to limp it home about 30 minutes north and it didn't shut off the whole way with zero oil and a giant hole in the bottom of the oil pan. Still drove onto the tow truck three days later.

I was on up around Williamsburg, VA in my Mazda speed miata. At this time all I had was a muffler delete. This guy I worked with had a 95 or 96 Mustang gt the good old 4.7L. So we were running on the HWY just playing around. And we were neck and neck. And my stock turbo inlet pipe blows off and makes this huge pop that he heard in the next lane. After that I had to call flying miata and get the full intake kit they make for that car. He never really let me live that down.

I used to drive a 1990 Toyota Corolla in high school. Blizzard came the night before and as I was headed to school I hit some black ice. Did a 180 didn’t wreck the car but the car wouldn’t start. Low and behold the previous owner had too small a battery in the battery box and the connectors had dislodged themselves. So I stuck a penny between the post and the connecter and bungee corded the battery in place until I got home that day.

A deer ran out in front of me, and I went into a ditch, I've had my motor blow its rings and loose compression in 2 cylinders, I've had my axel pop out, and I couldn't move. I've had a coolant hose pop off, but had all the tools including more coolant to fix it. I've had my steering shaft come loose while parking on a hill. All theese things made me stranded either for a few minnutes, a few hours, over night, or longer, and yes it's all 1 car. My eg hatch civic with a bswap.

Bought a AP1 S2000 Facelift (Europe) with about 42k, the dealer gave me 3 months mechanical warranty. The day after my warranty ran out my clutch bearing exploded while I was on the way back from a car show from another city. The pedal was stuck to the floor, I pulled over and yanked the pedal back up on the side of the motorway. After that the pedal would not disengage the clutch. I was able to slot it into first and start the car and gas it and ride the start up and pull away. I could up shift and squeeze the clutch as much as possible but I had to rev match on the way down. That's how I learn rev match down shifting. I was able to drive 2hrs and get back off the closest offramp near where I lived in some of the tightest traffic situations without having to stop. To which point I coasted into a gym car park on the exit and called a tow truck 10 mins from my house. turns out there was a stage 3 clutch in the car and the bearing was absolute trash that came with it and decided to explode after I had been on a run with a friend and his 34 skyline GTT

Last year my friend at the time had a B8 Audi S4 Stage 2+ Dual pulley pushing around 500hp, it was stick shift and it was the first car i really pushed driving stick. I did a quick pull 1-2-3 and clutched into 4th all was going amazing, so i did another but that’s when things went wrong… i did a pull in 2nd-3rd and then went to shift into 4th but instead i mis shifted into 2nd and blew the engine. That thing has cost me around 10k to get another engine and get it swapped into the car. A few weeks after my friend got his car back he slammed it into a tree. Thankfully he is safe and still alive

My car’s electric fan didn’t work when I bought it so one time I hit traffic and it just got hotter and hotter until I had to pull over and wait for it to cool. I literally put it in neutral and rolled down the side of the highway on the brakes with the engine off to get closer to the next exit. Trafic was like 5mph. I had to go some back roads and turn off the car whenever I stopped so that It wouldn’t overheat.

Last year when I had my first car, a 2001 Mustang V6 in performance red, a buddy and I were heading home from school. We were on the street in FRONT of his house, and suddenly I felt a shudder, and then we heard a loud pop. We looked at each other with that what the fuck look, but I shrugged because his driveway was a few feet in front of us. I go to hit the brakes for the stop sign, and suddenly the driver front dips down, the whole car jerks, I hear a loud scraping noise and it skids to a halt. I slowly got out of the car and looked at it to see it pretty much laying entirely on the ground. I managed to get underneath it enough to see that my balljoint had snapped in the middle of the road. We had to get a tow truck, and me and my cousin grabbed the front fender and lifted the car as high as we could so the tow truck could grab the front tires. Then we turned it on, put it in neutral, and towed that bitch to my driveway at like, 20 miles an hour, a solid 15 minutes away. Cuz and I lifted it back up and the tow truck pulled off and there she sat until I got it fixed 😂

I had just bought my foxbody like a month before, but one night I was driving back home and on the freeway I started to see sparks coming out of the left front fender well, I managed to get off the freeway into a parking lot and as soon as I was about to park the car the left week came of the bottom control arm….I was essentially driving on it without a castle nut the whole time(I even found out like two weeks before this happened when I got my tires changed, that both of my front wheels lugs weren’t torqued down or even fully tight)

Back in 2015 I bought a big turbo srt4 that was built for autocross. Still to this day, the fastest car I've ever drove. After 6 days of owning the car, I just had it wash and was taking it to give my dad a ride. On the on ramp to the interstate I was getting on it hard and shifting from 3rd to 4th and broke the input shaft. I didn't have a tow hook on the front, so I wrapped a strap around my intake manifold to get pulled home. 6 months and $5,000 later and it was never the same. I ended up trading it for a G8 GT.

I’m on the road in my 2004 spec-V Sentra and as im about halfway there my lights get dimmer and i notice that the throttle has no feedback, i start to get slower and slower and im forced to pull over to the left hand side of the road where the bart train runs in the middle of the freeway, there is no right shoulder. I have to then abandon my car run across the freeway, walk 40 minutes in pitch dark night to a safeway to wait for the tow truck i bring it home my parents are livid and it turns out the alternator decided to give out that night.

I built a lowrider Mazda in the late eighties. I painted the wheels and was putting them back on and forgot to tighten the lugs on the right front tire. I was low enough that it was hardly noticable until I slowed down and the wheel passed me. I got out thinking my rotor would be cracked and there was nothing wrong with it. A cop pulled up and kept an eye on thing while I chased down the tire and put it back on. I wound up going back home to check all the lugs and then went on about my business.

The first time I had to deal with a car that broke down on me was me and my twin brother's car that we both share. Long story short when we were picking up our older brother from work, let's just say that we kind of accidentally left the electronics on because we wanted to play our music and then when we tried to start up the car, the battery wasn't working. Oh boy our older brother had to call Triple AAA and then eventually Lyft. This happened around like maybe October or November of 2019 when this happened. Thankfully me and my twin brother went home in a Lyft that our older brother decided to pay while my older brother rode in the tow truck with the tow truck driver. We figured out that the car that broke down needed a jumpstart and the white gunk that was on the battery needed to be removed. Now we have a new battery for the car that'll last about 5-6 years but we won't be driving that car for very long, even when it goes pass a little over 200,000 miles on it.

My first car was a very high mile focus ZX3. One day going to school my buddy and i frantically pulled over because we thought the car was on fire. The coolant steam looked like smoke and we calmed down pretty quick. The exhaust manifold cracked a coolant hose that was inches away and sprayed coolant all iver the engine. Figured that out, filled it up and babied it to the closest Ford dealer. Went down the road with what looked like a cloud of smoke following us. Not as much a break down as more a inconvenience, but the engine ran hot from factory and we ran it in no coolant for a little while. Couldnt been much worse. Found it funny then and now

I had my 1st gen speed3 out one night a couple weeks ago just for a rip because I had recently fixed a misfire issue, and I noticed the car was losing power on my way back home, (it was also raining) so I thought maybe traction control was kicking in even though the dash wasn’t telling me, so I turn ESC off and do a 1st to 2nd rolling pull, then all of the sudden the rpms drop to zero, and the dash lights up like a Christmas tree.. checked all the fluids while on the side of the road, crank no start. and I was sitting there for maybe 5m then a kind gentleman called his caa and got my car towed back home. Ended up being a crank sensor wiring issue which was blowing a fuse. Still sitting in the driveway

I had my first car, a jaguar x type 2L diesel 5 speed manual. I took these 2 girls coworkers of mine home and I was coming back to my place. There was a Q5 and a lorry in front of me. The lorry turns right, the Q5 takes off and I think "I'm gonna catch him". That was a lie. I was flat out, 3500rpm, and then I head a loud bang from underneath the bonnet, the thing flexes a bit and I've got absolutely no power. There's soo much black smoke behind me that it stops the traffic. After 5 seconds I feel the engine somewhat responding under throttle. I thought uncle Rodney came out to play. Fortunately the boost pipe just slipped off the egr. I try to put it back, I break a couple screw drivers, I drop a ratchet in the engine bay and it gets stuck on the k member. Eventually I get the ratchet out. The collar was busted. Fortunately I broke down next to a guy with like 20 tractors lined up in front. I went on his property looking for the guy but he mustn't been home. Fortunately I found a zip tie on the ground with which I secured the hose and feathered the throttle until I made it home.

Shortly after i had gotten my miata the first timing belt snapped. We replaced it no problem and i was driving around i think right around christmas time. As I was driving all the sudden it started running like shit but I could keep it alive by just giving it lots of revs. I kept it alive limping it all the way home without letting the revs drop below like 2k ish it pulled it into the garage and it died. The car would not start no matter what. What had happened is the spring for the timing belt tensioner had broken and popped off falling down into the timing belt and shredding it causing it to skip

It was 7 months ago did not do anything about it yet and issue never occured again. Costed me about 150$ for nothing.

BAD ASS! That car was probably 8" off the ground! 😂... When I was a teenager my first ride was a 2500 Chevy conversion van turtle top 2500, but I drove my uncles '89 Silverado a lot. I got a little overzealous once, & must have had that sucker 3' off the ground! Not exaggerating. When the weight of that truck came down and I kept going up the seat belt pulled me right back down with it. That sucker hurt. I didn't know my buddy didn't have his seatbelt on and he hit his head on the ceiling 😆. I was white knuckling that steering wheel the whole time. The shit we did when we were kids.😂

I have a 13 Wrx hatch I did fbo and base map tuned a day before going to Tennessee with my wife and daughter. Coming from Illinois BTW well to make the long story short a ignition coil gave out in the middle of Indianapolis at a truck stop with no nearby parts store. At this point my wife doesn’t trust the car anymore and my buddy rented a uhaul and drop 4 hours to come help me and tow the car back home.

I drive a Volvo 240 with a little over 600k miles on it and I have broken down around 4-5 times the first 4 where not that bad a wire off the coil pack gets loose and doesn't make a good connection so it dies. But the 5th time I'm an hour away from my dads shop (where I can work my car because I'm in college and don't carry that many tools with me) my fuel pump goes out at the lake in my college town early in the morning because I like to run around the lake in the morning. Then I had to wait until like 11pm for my dad to drive down a truck and trailer to come pick me up and my car. Fun times

Besides blowing a tire or a bad alternator I've never broken down and been stranded. Mind you both of these happened with cheap sub $1,000 Honda's befor even getting them home. Maintance is key with over kill parts and fluids tho.

About a month ago I blew a dif on the PA turnpike in my ram truck and snapped the drive shaft clean off…while towing my bass boat. I got gear oil all over the front of my boat and in the carpet on the front deck of the boat. I was left stranded on the side in an area with no shoulder. It sucked. I disconnected the boat and sent the truck off on a flatbed. They wanted to load the boat trailer on another flatbed and charge me another $250 but I told them to go kick rocks. My brother had to drive 45 minutes in his truck and tow my boat back home for me.

Heading home from work, there was a car broken down in the middle of the road on a turn, so I stop to help them out and push them out of the road. As I go to get into my car to leave, my car wouldn't start (My battery was on its last legs because my alternator was shitting it self, but didn't know it at the time). The people I just helped push start me so I could make it home. The weirdest part was that just after I had stopped to help, some dude stopped to "help" and offered the guy's girl a ride. She refused, but in that moment I was like daaamn it really be like that huh? lmao

Yeah, blown charge pipe is always scary because of how loud it is combined with the immediate power loss. You’re like 😳, then you’re thinking, did I just blow my turbo, motor, transmission, differential, transfer case, all the worst case scenarios are the first thing you think of 😆 Actually, recently a buddy of mine says, I think I blew my turbo. He said, I’m gonna pull the turbo and check it out. I’m like, whoa, get a boost leak tester and try that first. Sure enough, cracked intake 😆 cheap plastic intake on his Chevy Sonic

this happened 5 days ago, so it was 3 in the morning and i was having a night drive with my friend in my hyundai veloster turbo, and i did a pull before coming to a stop and i heard something fly out of the engine bay, and i saw a bunch of red lights on the dash. it was three o’clock in the morning. i popped the hood open and something smelled burned and my windows kept fogging up, i was trying to crank it for 20 minutes, the ignition still works etc but it won’tstart at all, some cars asked if we were okay, but they drove off, then a cop shows up and offers help, he called a tow truck, then we got dropped off back my friends house, and it’s been sitting there ever since, supposed to pick it up on friday but i’m not sure even what that was that flew out

Ok so I had an ep3 semi built k20 turbo under the hood. Had no problem running my vacuum lines but was like fuck it let's put a vacuum block in because I'm gonna need one eventually. I didn't have time to do it, so I let a friend(s) do it that didn't know the car as well as me obviously, since it being my car. They put the vacuum block it, everything was good for a day, but I didn't beat on it much. So im getting tainted by a 350z with bolt ons -____- so I had to put him in the dirt. Went from a 2nd gear roll, little brake boost. Shift into 3rd, couldn't keep the car on the road, looked at the boost gage and it was spiking 20 pounds of boost. I was only running 8-10 at the time...... I blew a hole all the way thru the block and cracked the bell housing on the trans. The trans was salvageable. My uncle welded the cast aluminum very well to were you could barely tell. Didn't have any functional issues once the new motor got put in, but it was a stock motor :( ..... I did whore the shit out that 350z tho. 😂

i had 2 cylinder missfires in 2 completely different cars in like a week apart from each other. my car a stock forester XT 07 had me pretty worried because its what makes a subaru but it still drove fine i mean as fine as it can be, it still had enough power move itself and it was more of a nuisance then a catastrophe. so i had to rent a car because the baby was in the shop and the car i rented was one out of 2 wagon kia ceeds they had in stock, after a tough work day i put the AC on max and trashed the car because i wanted to meet my gf as soon as possible and when i entered the city i noticed the car felt VERY weak which at first i did really mind because i thought im just used to driving much more powerful vehicles but then i noticed it couldn't get uphill like at all and then i realized i might have a problem. unlike my forester where i easy understood whats going on because the engine is big and its built on balance as soon as a cylinder doesn't fire the whole car shakes violently when its not moving under its own power but the ceed has such a weak, quit and small engine you have 0 feedback and to make matters worse its FWD so it really could berraly berraly move on an uneven terrain and the ECU wasn't coded to deal or detect or aid in cases like these so even on "manual" mode you still not only fight the car to even stay moving you also fight the gearbox to keep it in first, the only gear that manages to move this fat weak ass.

Luckily I haven’t been stranded yet, but when I bout my car that I plan on keeping till I keel over, I ended up driving it like a good 100ish miles might’ve been more I can’t really remember. So I bought the car test drove it and it wasn’t great but dream (project) car so I overlooked the visual stuff but there was an odd vibration that I didn’t quite understand and it happened to be my drive shaft being half bolted in… and I went 95-100 a couple times on that trip home… Later on I also found out that 3 out of my four brakes were seized as well so I had like a millimeter of brake pad till I replaced them all around. Which is when I found out my front brakes were seized. went through a fresh set of pads and I’m sure I toasted my rotors as well in a month… but as I said luckily I haven’t gotten genuinely stuck. other than one time my starter wire fell off but that was a simple fix

91 Chevy Silverado left me stranded multiple times. Ball bearings broke a couple of times and it overheated a few times. 94 Saturn SL1 this one left me stranded multiple times because it overheated. Both vehicles had coolant and thermostat was good. It’s because of this is why I will never own anything made by GM.

My 96 4.6 v8 thunderbird. I was going on a two lane canyon road. I got stuck behind this slow ass motor home so I go into the other lane to pass and mat it as I don’t want to just sit in on coming on a canyon road. I get around it and the I hear PING PING PING PING and look down and the temp guage is maxed. I pull over and find a radiator hose blew off. So here I am stuck in the middle of knowhere a billion miles away from home with zero phone signal so I just start walking and luckily while walking I all of a sudden get service so I call my dad and he grabbed a hose clamp and some antifreeze and comes save me. Get everything done back up. She starts it’s a fast canyon with a blind corner right behind me so I just mat it so I don’t possibly get rear ended suddenly and my rear view mirror is just white smoke. But suddenly while driving down the canyon it stops and never burnt coolant again. Until a month later I’m just cruising and the radiator hose pops of AGAIN. I’m almost home I limp it idling at 5 MPH onto our street where I finally shut it off and have my parents help my push it into the driveway. That was all she wrote. After that is when I inherited my parents glorious 2014 Mazda 6 touring from that I adore. I didn’t know anything about the 3rd gen 6 at first and just thought it was just a boring ole commuter sedan like a camery but I drove it fast one day and it was awesome so much steering feel and it handled exceptionally, the 2.5 was super rev happy and fun, plus the 6 speed auto is a great transmission and is a riot in manual mode on twisty canyon roads, and then I found out the massive aftermarket the 3rd gen Mazda 6 has and I fell in love. I’m never selling this car. I’m putting on corksport coil overs next weekend(much to the disapproval of my parents that gifted me it tho lol) but it’s under my name I’m paying for and car insurance now so it’s my car I can do whatever I want to It. I’m so hyped.
