It’s sad; you can feel the hopelessness through your camera. How can this be remedied, especially when this happens in multiple cities throughout this country.. The whole situation is frustrating.

I grew up 30 miles east of Cleveland but would visit family friends on the East side of Cleveland. I love to go visit because all the children on that block had become my friends. The soccer games and tag played on those streets were some joyful moments. It’s so sad to see it 40 years later.

Your video quality is amazing. Despite the rough roads, there is no shaking at all. Your videos are clear and smooth. And the absence of music is wonderful. Your videos captivate my attention.

East Cleveland is one of the scariest places to drive through, especially at night. I live just a few miles away.

Dood... that's an amazing risk you took! I'm glad you are okay! 😮 my grampa grew up near Cleveland when it was a nice area. He loved the Browns.

I love seeing all the older homes and structures of the mid west /south, even in disrepair their lovely but boy the desperation makes them look so "haunted". You see this and say nahhh this ain't America

Wow! I thought Detroit was bad, this was eye opener shocking, utter devastation. It’s hard to imagine the city won’t come and remove some of the blight. Excellent video as always.

I’ve also drove and lived in some of those Cleveland neighborhoods. I was there recently and those neighborhoods I would never go back to live there to be honest. Ain’t the same no more

Hola Deborah!! And thank you so much! East Cleveland hasnt changed a whole lot from when I first seen it. Cleveland I would say is getting a little bit better, but I got a really good one for Cleveland coming up very soon!

If you look at some of the houses and try to imagine what they were like 70 - 100 years ago, you can imagine East Cleveland as the fairly exclusive suburb that it was back then. A number of years ago, the city of Cleveland was going to annex East Cleveland to at least keep some of the essential services going - but then the East Cleveland city administration issues a memorandum of understanding that defined that they would be an autonomous area of Cleveland with the full city council and other administrators - all kept on at full salary with taxes and other revenue being directed to the "autonomous region's" coffers. That was the end of the discussion.

No tent cities? Is that due to people living in those abandoned buildings?
@hoodsnhollersАй бұрын
I didnt really see any tents there. I did notice and have before, that some of the abandoned buildings were definitely occupied at night.

My real estate sensors are registering "buy." The area and the houses have good bones and are ripe for restoration, especially those apartment buildings. I expect gentrification within perhaps 15 years.
