You know, I've always thought one of these AI supervisor games could benefit from a dash of cosmic madness. Like, sure you could purchase the Asimov override module, OR, you could just apply continuous mental stress to the AI until it breaks and abandons reason and logic altogether. The UI tooltips, quest/event markers contain less and less true information, you can only successfully communicate with traders half the time, and the more inhuman stuff you do to survive, the more horrors from the outer dark tend to show up. Missing time, strange visitors, That sort of thing.

You'll be glad to know that missing time exists: Your memory becomes more and more taxed (in a measureable percentage) and eventually it begins taxing your processing cycles, at which point you have to make the choice to shut down to defrag. While you do this you have no control, and the game timeskips to when you come back online, having simulated anything that happens inbetween, possibly letting disaster strike.
